We had dinner here twice and both times were pretty darn good. The meat was so flavorful and tender. The portions are large so we split the main course both nights and were plenty full. I thought the prices were very reasonable given its in a mid level Disney resort. We were on a progressive dinner crawl within the resort and this was our last stop so this was our main course only. Tonight we got the bone in Ribeye for 2. When it first came out it was undercooked so we sent it back. The second try was better and was a passable medium rare. Flavors were really good. Seare on the steak was nice. Nice mexican, smokey flavors. The sides that came with it were corn and broccolini I think, but the best were the poblano potatoes au gratin. Delicious! lots of cheesy goodness. Our server was ready to go home and it showed so that was a little disappointing but she did take care of the refire and gave us more potatoes. Over all the meal was OK but were were honestly not blown away with any of the food we had while staying at the Coronado resort but there is a lot more to try! read more

Located in Coronado Springs resort at Walt Disney World, this place offers average Mexican fare and subpar service at a premium price. We were greeted by two hostesses. Well, not exactly. They thought they were discreetly arguing as to who would seat us but they were much too obvious. The loser of that debate took us to a table. Our waiter for the meal soon stopped by for the drink order. He seemed the type who was just there until someone discovered him at open mic night at a downtown Orlando comedy club. He provided basic service but largely ignored us. The menu was simple but diverse. I ordered the bone-in pork chop (with "Mexican spices, corn truffle and Manchego cheese, served with herbed marble potatoes."). I sipped on my weak classic margarita and awaited a traditional basket of chips which never came; apparently chips are not served at this Mexican restaurant. After a long wait our meals appeared. The pork chop was okay but lacked any imagination. Put a pork chop in a frying pan, toss some cheese on top and there you have it for $24. While the food was fine it simply couldn't justify the pricing, even considering it's a restaurant at a tourist hotel. read more

We stay at Coronado Springs very often but have never tried Maya Grill. We decided it was time. We ended walking up on a whim and there was some availability. When we arrived the hostess and manager were out front greeting us. Both were extremely sweet and friendly. We were seated quickly. The server took some time to introduce herself and take our drink orders but once she did everything flowed quickly from there. We got chips and salsa appetizer which I really liked. Their salsa was good! I also liked the tortilla soup but probably would have preferred they removed the chicken. There were huge strips of dark meat and that didn't appeal. The quesadilla was ok as was the salad. Everything was pretty average. The best part was the amazing guitar player they had who played all Disney songs. It definitely was a nice touch to our experience. I think overall Maya grill is just ok. I'd be interested in trying some other dishes in the future so stay tuned. read more

First time here last week while we were staying at the Coronado Springs for a Disney vacation. Dinner for 4. I want to like this place and I know we are at a Disney resort but it is just too expensive. Our server was Allen and he was great. We ordered drinks and chips and salsa that also came with a 3 cheese queso blanco. $10 for chips and salsa? Most places serve them for free. Not much salsa but the queso blanco was great. Chips were hard as rock. I had one of the margarita flights and I enjoyed them but at $21 and smaller servings they were hard to swallow. 3 fish tacos... large portion, tasty and $25. Maya Taco salad... $18. Total was $94 for two not including tip. Once was enough for us as we found other places to eat. Give it a try and see what you think. read more

I visited Maya Grill with my family this week for dinner. We were all very disappointed in all of the food. The "guacamole" was just plain avocado with a tiny sprig of cilantro and some chopped strawberries on top. No visible onion, jalapeño, onion, salt, or lime. Not what we expected for $12. My husband got the cochinita pibil, which he was looking forward to as it's his favorite dish from his Mexican family. It was not a very large portion and according to him, a 5/10 on taste. I got the fiesta salad, which was basically like a Caesar salad on a cheese tortilla. Soaked in dressing and mostly lettuce. 7/10. One person got the queso fundido burger and said it was good, but the only good meal at a Mexican restaurant should not be the burger. Overall a very disappointing experience for a very high price. read more

I lived in LA for a while and after living there my taste buds were forever changed when it came to Mexican and Latin foods. Most local places in the Central Florida area don't hit right. My family, however, loves Mexican food, and so I begrudgingly agreed to eat at Maya Grill. I was very pleasantly surprised by Maya Grill. I ordered the vegan chicken enchiladas, and another member of my party ordered the fajitas and we also had the spicy chili cheese fries. You guys! These fries were like a meal, they were HUGE. We also had the queso fundido burger and the Monterey chicken sandwich. All were super tasty and please even the picky eaters in our party. The plant based chicken enchiladas were one of the best plant based meals I have ever had. The taste and texture were reminiscent of real cheese and chicken, and it was super filling too. We also had the traditional margarita flight and the premium margarita flight, both were so delicious that I would absolute go back just for these flights. The jalapeno margarita in the premium flight was the best jalapeno marg I have ever had. It was not too spicy but really highlighted the flavor of the jalepeno so well. The Horchata marg in the traditional flight was so filling and so tasty. There was also a live guitarist doing sets near the entrance. He was fantastic. A really wonderful dinner and atmosphere. However I give this place 3 stars because our server seemed like she legitimately had a problem with me and my family.. she was extremely rude, and appeared to be miserable. I did not know what to expect at this restaurant located in my hotel complex here at Disney. I was very surprised and happy to be part of this dining experience. I am reading the mixed reviews and really don't understand why. This was a beautiful location located in the Coronado Springs Resort, filled with Disney cast members who are only there to insure your perfect experience. We were greet by two hostesses and brought to our seat by one. The waiter came over to our table in seconds to say hello, introduce himself and tell us a little about the restaurant. Shortly after that, the guitar player performed and just made the experience a little better. The decor is early Mexican. It's Disney and there is never any spared expense to make the surrounding pretty. There are also plenty of windows going around allowing for a nice natural light setting during the day. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and walked us through a few items until we made our decision. See as my wife and I don't eat lot, we opted to share the Guacamole appetizer and the steak with black beans and rice. It was the perfect choice. The appetizer size of the guac could have easily been for four people. It was delicious. Flavorful, creamy with plenty of body. The steak was cooked perfectly, again, flavorful and plenty for two people. This makes me ask the question... why are the portions so large? Easily there could have been a third less guac and steak and there still would have plenty for the two of us to share. Not only was this restaurant convenient hotel and room but... they do a very good job here of making sure you always have that fun Disney experience. read more

I had dinner at the Maya Grill tonight and was pleasantly surprised by their vegetarian options. To be clear, they don't have many, but the ones they did have were good! I had the guacamole with mango and pomegranate...it could have used some salt but it was good nonetheless. The chips and salsa were very tasty as well...one of the best salsas I've had in a long time! I also ordered the vegetarian tacos - 4 flour tortillas filled with black beans, carrots, broccolini, cabbage,, salsa verde, and roasted tomato salsa accompanied by rice and spicy corn. In my opinion, it was very tasty and, keep in mind, I do have high expectations of vegetarian/vegan cuisine - just because it's vegetarian/vegan doesn't mean it can or should be flavorless. I decided to also order the margarita flight which consisted of 5 shot glasses filled with a variety of margaritas - mango blueberry basil, classic margarita, horchata, pineapple, and jalapeño. All 5 were so, so, so good! My favorite was the jalapeño followed closely by pineapple. As far as the service - my server was attentive and delightful! We visited Maya Grill while on vacation in Orlando and staying at Coronado Springs. We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurant. The staff were very friendly when we checked in and our waitress Julieca was wonderful. They had a guitar player in the entrance, playing all genres of music which made the ambiance lively and fun. Everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the chips, guacamole, queso and salsa. My husband had the chicken quesadilla which was very tasted and I had the fish tacos which were also very tasted. I tried the Margarita flight which was the perfect amount and provided the 3 margarita options. The pear one is absolutely delicious. Save room for dessert, the Quatro Leches is great. If you're in Disney and want some Mexican food, this is the place to go to. I walked in, gave the name for my reservation and was instantly seated. Started off with some fresh chips and salsa, empanada de barbacoa, and the shrimp mojo. All great options but if I had to choose my favorite was the shrimp mojo. If you're in to fish you have to try the Baja fish tacos! Otherwise the short rib falls right off the bone and the sizzling beef skillet was tasty too. Overall the place was nice and they had a live guitarist and violinist playing some soft music while you ate. The only thing I would change was my server. This was the biggest disappointment as you could tell it came from a tub and was not homage. They also placed some feta and pickled onions on top. The chips were warm but again were from a bag. For the price point I expected more. For our main dishes we had the short ribs & enchiladas. The short ribs were amazing!! They had a layer of scalloped potato's under them! Absolutely delicious! Now the enchiladas. I had high hopes for this but it lacked some punch. It was literally corn tortillas thrown some chicken, enchilada sauce and cheese. For almost $20 so not worth it. Fun Southwestern Inspired Dinner Nice dinner after a full day at Magic Kingdom. Margarita flight gave a sample of 5 different drinks. Bread basket had yummy corn muffins and flatbread served with a chimichurri dipping sauce. Tortilla soup was good as was the red snapper served with roasted tomatoes and vegetables. Try the ancho chili Creme brûlée for a blend of sweet and spicy to end a delicious meal. We used the my Disney experience app to make a reservation on the way to Coronado Springs. The restaurant is warm and inviting, typical for Disney. The server was friendly but not over the top. The menu here is fairly small considering where they could go with it. The guacamole was made to order so it took some time but it was tasty and the chips were fresh. The fajita platter for two was good. The chorizo, steak, and chicken were all cooked perfectly and it was a good shareable amount. Dessert was a light touch with a shooter. None of the dishes were super unique but the quality of the steak was decently high and the flavor of the chorizo was pretty good. Overall, this restaurant comes down to location and convenience. If you want to see the beautiful Coronado Springs resort then it's a good option. Kids are ok here as with all Disney restaurants. My last meal at Disney World before heading back to reality. This is a very convenient dining location, as it's situated right inside the main building of Coronado Springs, where I happened to be staying. It's great to be able to have delicious food within walking distance, and it helps that I could use my Disney meal plan credits here, too! Ambience: Probably the coolest part about the place. Fairly standard decor for a Mexican-inspired restaurant, but it was the music that really made it. A musician was there performing instrumental covers of popular songs like "Don't Stop Believing" and "Hey Jude," to name a few, but with an acoustic-electric Latin twist. I sang along a bunch, and this was probably the musical highlight of my entire trip. Food: tasty! I ordered my steak medium rare and I think it came out more medium, but it was still delicious, and the portion sizes were appropriate. The coconut flan was EXCELLENT. I was pretty darn full by the end of my meal, but I still managed to gobble that up in no time. I probably could've eaten another one, to be honest. Service: our waiter was nice, and attentive. The only gripe here is that the meal seemed to kinda take forever. We were there for almost two hours from start to finish, and while the music made it go by quicker, the night kinda started to drag on towards the end, once the entertainment left. Would've been a little nicer if dessert was offered earlier and the check came a little sooner. Not a big deal, though! I made plans to visit Disney Springs that night before the shops closed at 11 and still made it, so no harm, no foul. Such a great restaurant that I come here often! Orlando is full of great restaurants so for me to say I come here a lot says something! Tonight I enjoyed the Pescado del Día (fish of the day). The pan-seared salmon just melted in my mouth and was delicious. There was a spicy glaze on the side which I really enjoyed! The salmon was nicely paired with fresh vegetables cooked just right. For a drink I chose the Mango Blueberry Mint - young tequila mixed with coconut rum and orange juice, infused with fresh blueberries and mint. And for my desert I went with the Ancho Chile Crème Brûlée. Disney is knows for its crème brûlée but the added chile sauce gave it just the flavor and consistency I was looking for in an international desert. Just a bit of spice but a lot of flavor! Wonderful dining experience. The serving staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Empanadas were very good. Very flavorful with a kick. The El Diablo Margarita was AWESOME. I'm not a huge margarita fan, but the combination of spice and cucumber was extremely refreshing. The wine list was also well prepared Lastly, the tortilla soup was very flavorful. Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday - we surprised him with a few faces he wasn't expecting. Even though I'm a former CastMember, I'd never eaten at the Maya grill, so this was a treat. I started with a Ceasear Salad, and one of the signature Margaritas. The salt that rimmed the glass was decadent, I must get it when I remember to stop back. The drink was AMAZING, Blood orange, and so tasty. The salad was just ok, but the entree made up for it! I opted for the Fajita plate, and the meat was oh so tender. Everything was perfect. We even got the flan for dessert. So much YUM. What made us hang out was the strolling guitarist. He was phenomenal. He was able to play anything and everything. From Journey covers to Bohemian Rhapsody. This guy - Marcus? was FABULOUS! Because of him, we sat there for an extra hour just singing along. read more

Quite an awful experience just now. Came here as a guest at the resort. Was told the wait time was between 1-1.5 hours. Tough but we understood. After about 30 minutes we were surprised to learn it was only a 15 minute wait. However, that was a lie. We waited another hour. Thereafter once we finally were seated, they sit us in a small corner right next to where the waiters put all the dirty dishes. It was around 10 minutes before we were greeted. We ask to move and instead are met with "you will have to wait longer." I expect more from Disney! read more

I guess this is the it spot in the resort. Service is superb and I like the theme, but the food was average to me. Shared the tacos starter, fajita skillet with steak, and coconut flan. Got the steak medium due to colleague's preference and it was on the tough side. Skillet was on the smaller side for an entree size, and it wasn't that it was bad, but I kind of felt like I had just whipped out some sour cream and guac from the fridge and opened canned corn and threw dinner together, rather than feeling like I was eating something special. The coconut flan is unique and I liked the thicker texture. Basically not a lot of choices in the resort so might as well try it read more

I'm learning that while at Disney, the unsung hero's of dining are tucked away inconspicuously in their more moderate/unknown resorts. Maya Grill at Coronado is one such gem. Dimly lit, beautifully decorated, and tucked away in a corner of the main building offering some views of the lake, this restaurant offers a very relaxing, alternative to the hustle & bustle of it's Epcot alternatives, which are more energized by the very nature of their location and the sheer volume they must cater to. The wait staff at this little gem is on par. Our waiter knew his menu like the back of his hand and could answer any and every question we had about the food. Even steering some of us away from some of the higher priced items since he didn't think we would enjoy them as much. We started our meal with the house made guacamole which was phenomenal . It was obviously fresh and I have no idea what was in it, but there was none of it left when we finished. We also quickly devoured the queso, practically doing shots it was so good. To start we also enjoyed a pitcher of their heavy duty sangria, which has tequila in it. And boy does it have tequila. They do not skimp on their pour at all. Our entrees were pretty amazing. Among our table we had chicken fajitas, seasonal fish, steak and diablo shrimp. All were excellently prepared, steaming hot, juicy and flavorful. The spices used brought the dishes into a more authentic flavor I have enjoyed at friend's homes then the more generic 'tex mex' so common in American restaurants. The desert selection was a little disappointing. We were on the Disney Dining Plan, so it was included in our meal, but of the selection there were only 3 real desserts, everything else on the tray was more of a single serving shooter. While one of our party went for the shooter, and said it was delicious, it just did not seem like they were much to be considered "desserts." Overall, I would totally return to this place. Sure the prices are inflated, but thats the price you pay for dining at Disney. I consider the inflation the cost of going to a beautiful resort with free parking, where I can relax on my way to the meal, not be in bumper to bumper traffic, and maybe enjoy a beautiful post dinner stroll around a lake. read more

What a surprise to find this place! My daughter and I were in the mood for Mexican food but didn't have a park admission to visit our favorite spot in the EPCOT Mexican temple. We found this option on the Disney Dining site, booked a reservation for 30 minutes later and were off. We arrived right on time and realized we had stayed here at Coronado Springs once before but many years ago. We were promptly seated at a wonderful booth tucked in the back by a window. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and makes you think for a moment you could be back in Peru. Bonus! To add to the ambience, there was live music played. Their guitarist was excellent and I found myself tapping along to the beats several times during our meal. For drinks they have a selection of tequila, several margarita options and numerous beers all bottled though. I got my usual Dos Equis and ordered their house guacamole as a starter. The guac showed up a few minutes later with a plate full of warm, fresh chips. The guac was topped with several thin rings of beet to add to the flavors. In no time the guac was gone but many chips remained. We asked our server for some salsa but learned it is not on their menu!? He offered to run next door though to the quick serve restaurant and bring some back for us. What service! For my main entree, I selected their shrimp tacos while my daughter picked their steak fajitas. The tacos turned out to be deliciously lightly battered fried shrimp with an avocado salsa and sprinkled with red cabbage. The accompanying fresh corn and rice were lovely. I threw in some of the salsa into the rice to spike it up a bit. My daughter's steak fajitas were equally impressive. Her steak was cooked med rare just the way she likes it and served with the same rice and corn. Our entire meal was great, the service outstanding and prices reasonable. This is a good option for Mexican food if you are staying at Coronado Resort or a nearby resort. We enjoyed our meal here, but with all of the amazing Disney food options I wouldn't rank it at the top of the list. Again, very convenient if you are at the resort and don't want to leave though. My favorite thing here was the Margarita Flight. Why don't more places offer this option? There were five different flavors in glasses just a bit larger than a shot glass. My favorites were the jalapeno and the mango blueberry basil. Cool idea and cool presentation. I had the Shrimp Taco dinner. We stopped for dinner after a day of playing at Blizzard Beach. We were in the mood for Mexican, and decided to try out this restaurant. The service was wonderful. The food was underwhelming. Our server tried so hard to keep our boys entertained, kept our drinks full, and was always right there when we needed him. It was a bit early for dinner, so it wasn't busy in the restaurant at all. We ordered our traditional Sangria, because for us this is how we base a Mexican Restaurant on drinks. They were good. The server helped us out when he pieced together my youngest sons food - cold tortillas and cold Mexican Cheese (aka Tacos and Cheese). Our food however was bland. It felt like it was missing something, but we couldn't put our finger on it. Our oldest ate tacos and enjoyed them. Overall, the service itself was enough for us to think about returning, if for nothing more than drinks and dessert. read more
