Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note due to communication and billing issues. When we arrived, we discovered there was an additional 2.7% credit card fee that had not been disclosed ahead of time. More concerning, about 30 minutes into the flight the pilot descended to land because he believed we had booked only a 30-minute ride. We were surprised because we had clearly scheduled a 1-hour sunset flight two months earlier, and our name was even listed on the schedule board for a one-hour tour. After we clarified the misunderstanding, we went back up and completed the full flight. However, when we landed, we were told the total would now be $775 because we had gone slightly over the hour -- even though the extra time resulted from the earlier misunderstanding, not from any request on our part. After discussion, the total was slightly reduced, but we still ended up paying more than the original quoted amount. I'm sharing this mainly so future customers can be prepared to ask questions about timing, billing policies, and additional fees before flying. The actual flight was scenic and memorable, but the end result left us disappointed.

We chose Atlanta. Booking was easy and went smoothly. The staff was very friendly over the phone and in person. Blue Ridge Helicopter is located at Gwinnett Airport in Lawrenceville. The first date we chose unfortunately didn't work out. Heavy rain was expected that afternoon. Our pilot Chris did not recommend us flying that afternoon and asked if we were open to rescheduling. We rescheduled for a couple of weeks ahead and the weather was perfect! Chris is experienced and was very knowledgeable of Atlanta history and landmarks. They informed us that if we wanted to book again in the future, we would pay the same Groupon rate. Very competitive to other helicopter tours!

We decided to rent a cabin in the Helen, GA area, since we had a shorter spring break this year and…read morewanted to get away, since we hadn't left the area since the pandemic. We found the cabin, Bear Creek online via Cedar Creek Cabin Rentals. To me the price seemed a bit steep, but we also decided to book relatively late, and most cabins were booked. That being said, a few days prior to our trip we received specific, detailed instructions stating directions, door code, and other information regarding the amenities. One important piece of advice is, be sure to print the directions out beforehand. I know, I know, you probably have GPS, but service on the drive to this area is rather scarce, and in the emailed instructions, Cedar Creek says multiple times to print out the directions. Do yourself a favor and listen to them. We were used to staying in Ellijay, GA, but due to cabins being booked, we decided to visit the Helen/Cleveland area. When we arrived, we were greeted with a pretty steep driveway. We pulled up, parked, and saw the cabin. It looked like a wood cabin, equipped with a large wraparound porch, rocking chairs, fire pit, and hot tub outside. We put the code into the door and opened the cabin. The cabin was beautiful, spacious, and looked like the pictures. There is a full kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. The stone wood burning fireplace was beautiful, as was the front room. There were three bedrooms, one on the main floor, which we gave to my parents, so they wouldn't have to go up and down stairs, which also had an on suite bathroom with a jetted tub, standing shower, sink, and toilet. Upstairs there was another large bedroom with one king bed and this room also had a full tub/shower and bathroom. Then on the lower level, there was another full bedroom, with king bed, bathroom with standing shower, washer and dryer, and then a huge game room with a pool table, futon, set of bunk beds, and a coach and TV. Everything looked beautiful. The only cons of this place was the main floor toilet didn't flush, which was a real bummer, since it was broken upon arrival. I wish whomever was the property management person in charge would have checked to make sure all these items were in working order prior to guests arriving. For the price you pay, it should be working upon arrival. We did put a call into the property management group that night, and the next day, the second day it was "fixed", the woman was nice, but said the part they had on hand would work for the time being, due to what they had in stock, and if we used that bathroom, we'd need to lift the handle after you're done using that bathroom, to insure the toilet would stop running. The only other negative was the plug to the left of the couch on the main floor seemed pretty jenky. Since the couch was a recliner that was electronic, the only way you could use the couch was to unplug the lamp, since the lower outlet didn't work. I think pending they fix these items and do a double check that everything is in working order, this cabin would be a five out of five. The wraparound porch was beautiful and had tons of seating. The house also had some walking paths behind it. We did some exploring and found a small waterfall, which was available on foot from the house. Pros: -Large spacious house -Good directions -Three main suites -Wood burning fireplace -Only about 15-20 minutes from Helen and Cleveland Cons: -Broken plug -Main toilet was broken upon arrival -Only two butter knives stocked in the kitchen Tips: If you're looking for a really secluded cabin, this may not be for you. While it was located in the woods, there were several cabins in the area that you could see from this one. If you're looking for a cabin that's not a long drive to Helen, this would be the cabin for you.
