The smell of the grill lured me in to this magnificent building. The Mayfair building in Coconut Grove, was originally the Mayfair House that opened in 1985. It was designed by architect & sculptor Kenneth Treister. Its building is eccentric, organic architecture, featuring hand-sculpted stucco, handcrafted copper, stained glass. The lush open-air central garden atrium with fountains & tables was lush & inviting. Antonio was at the bar and he welcomed us his first customers of the day. I loved the ambiance at Mayfair, especially the fact that you can sit outside, inside, or in the hotel's lush, open-air atrium. I loved the lobster ravioli and gnocchi dishes the most. This place is absolutely gorgeous, and the service was spectacular. We came as a large group and were seated outdoors. It was definitely hot, but the view and being able to sit together made it worth it. The food was pretty good overall. We ordered a bunch of appetizers standouts were the croquettes, tuna tartare, and shrimp tiradito. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak (just okay), but the tostones with cilantro sauce were delicious. I also tried my friend's lobster ravioli, which was spectacular. Drinks were solid I had a margarita. Most dishes were good, and the price point felt fair. We were a group of 16 and paid about $117 each, tip included. read more

Rapicavoli does it again! Great place to have taken over, so much personality! Have been itching to come here for a few weeks and decided to make it happen first weekend of the year. Walked right in on Sunday like at 1:30 p.m. and there's was plenty of seating at the bar and inside, but I chose to sit outside in the main "atrium" looking area of the hotel. Was given a nice spot facing the hotel interior that made me think of Morocco, and it set the mood perfectly. As soon as I was approached by my server I was given a compliment about my vibes lol, which I very much appreciated. Here's my chowdown: - Cafe Colada - Black Truffle & Potato Croquetas - Carajillo - Iberico Steak & Eggs - Bananavardier My server recommended much of what I ended up ordering, so kudos to Emily for the great recs. The brunch menu features the two coffee cocktails I ordered. The Colada has that "punch" upon first sip, while the Carajillo has a sweetness to it. Different but both were good. Loved the croquetas in between the cocktails, just wish they were bigger. The Iberico Steak & Eggs is actually a pork churrasco and it did the job. The Bananavardier was ok, probably would go for something else next time ... don't feel like there was much banana to it. Next visit will be for dinner! read more

Fantastic! I recently stopped by to place a takeout order and I'm really happy that I did. Christine, the super nice lady that took care of my order from behind the bar (if I remember correctly, I believe she said that she used to work at Ariete), was incredibly helpful and attentive, and she helped me choose a few client-favorites. Since I was going to be there for about 15-20 minutes, I decided to order a glass of wine and the flatbread appetizer, which was phenomenal. The burgers I took home to my wife & daughter were great, and the burrata appetizer was also delicious. 5-stars all around. I had been to the Mayfair grill before but I wanted to try it again after the revamp of the menu. I came here on Halloween night and I was able to get a seat right at the bar. The bartender walked over to me and asked what kind of water I wanted and gave me the menus. I liked that the drink menu had a whole expresso section. I ended up going with an expresso martini made with tequila reposado and it did not disappoint. I also ordered the truffle potato croquets and the crudo. The crudo was the most memorable part. It is def a miami dish. I loved the combination of citrus with the tuna. I hadn't had something like that before. The ambiance was busy but still quiet. The food was fresh and the drinks were good. I was really looking forward to trying Mayfair Grill, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations--especially for the price. We started with the garlic knot gnocchi, which was overwhelmingly garlicky to the point that it was hard to eat. The dates were just regular dates with nothing particularly special about them. The ceviche was okay, but lacked flavor and didn't stand out in any way. For mains, I ordered my angus skirt steak medium, but it came out super well done--almost burnt. It was very disappointing. My friend ordered the short rib, which was also very overcooked and came in a surprisingly small portion. Her husband had the burger with what he thought were truffle fries; he said it was okay, but nothing memorable. The drinks were also a miss. I initially ordered a gin cucumber cocktail, but it was so heavy on the ginger that it tasted more like an immunity shot than a refreshing drink. I had to send it back and ordered a lychee cocktail instead, which turned out to be overly sweet and watered down. The ambiance was very nice, and the space itself is beautiful. However, for a $400 bill, the food and drinks simply did not justify the cost. Overall, it felt very overpriced for the quality and execution. Unfortunately, I won't be recommending Mayfair Grill or returning. read more

Cute restaurant located in the Mayfair House Hotel and Garden in Coconut Grove. I came here for a dinner and breakfast since I was staying at the hotel. The food is pretty good and the servers were super friendly. I had a different server for each meal, and they both separately went above and beyond to chat with me and offer helpful suggestions. The restaurant itself is trendy and if you sit in the garden, you're surrounded by lush tropical plants. It's got a nice vibe all around. My husband and I ate here twice for breakfast during our stay at the hotel, and we were really impressed both times. The breakfast options are solid, and everything we ordered was delicious. The first day, I had the acai bowl, which was amazing--super fresh and filling. The second day, I tried the Belgian waffle, and it was just as good. Both were definitely worth the price! My husband went with the avocado toast on the first day, but for $20, we felt it should have come with at least two pieces of toast; it only came with 1! He wasn't too impressed with that, but the next day, he ordered the fried egg sandwich, and it was way better. He also got a side of sausage, which was incredible--definitely a standout. The side of bacon was standard, and the tea was just as expected. Overall, we really enjoyed our breakfasts here and would definitely return if we're ever back in the area! read more

Good restaurant for sure! The ambiance is a cool vibe especially inside and the food is good. The service was great and they were very careful with my allergies. We ordered the steak tartare to start and it was the best thing we had. The chicken was really good and the steak was good too with an interesting miso based sauce. The tostones were also good but I would probably order something else next time. The oyster mushroom was good just needed a little sauce or something. This place is amazing! The service is very friendly and the ambience is just right for a casual dinner or date night. The sound of the water is so relaxing in the background and you feel just tucked away and it's gorgeous little grotto within the hotel. It's dog friendly, and the food is delicious. I'm so impressed by Giorgio Rapicavoli's relentless energy. Maybe since he got in superhero shape, he's gained so much more life that he's practically cloned himself. Along with his other successful restaurants, the Mayfair Grill now has the restaurant the beautiful and quirky space deserves. I caught up with my cousin during Sunday brunch, and we really enjoyed sharing a bottle of the rosé. I had the brunch burger and it was deliciously executed. It really hit the spot and was the perfect accompaniment to all the free-flowing wine. I am looking to going back and continuing to support Rapicavoli's mission to make Miami an ever evolving, food destination. read more

I had the opportunity to check out Mayfair Grill this weekend! Wow it did not disappoint! Giorgio Rapicavoli has done it again! #iykyk!! Everything we ate was perfection. We started with the Yellowfin tuna crudo, black truffle & potato croquetas, & the white bean hummus. All were amazing but truffle crème fraǐche that came with the croquetas is living rent free in my brain at the moment. The highlight of the night was our main dish the Iberico Pork Churrasco. Ill be honest pork is not my usual go to when dining out but it was highly recommended and Im glad we went for it. We finished the night with the Pineapple upside down tart. I really didn't know what to expect with the newest concept at the Mayfair hotel, but believe me it is WORTH THE HYPE! I still am dreaming of their pesto pasta and the dates with sheeps cheese and caesar salad were top tier. Some other notable faves from the night were the tuna app, the ribeye and clams with the grilled bread. I sat at the bar and the service was a 10/10. I had syrup poured down my back and all over my white shirt and satin skirt by a server accidentally who was just not paying attention (she didn't even notice). They offered to have my clothes dry cleaned by having me drive them over there and then also pick them up, as opposed to simply paying the dry cleaning bill. Then I asked for a blackened chicken sandwich. Apparently, they thought blackened meant burned, and didn't understand it's a seasoning. So they took it away and said it would come off the bill. When the bill came, the chicken sandwich was on the bill ($24). I asked about it and she said the manger wouldn't take it off (even though they took the full burnt meal away, not to mention the syrup fiasco and the fact that she didn't tell us it wasn't taken off). Eventually, they took the sandwich I didn't eat off the bill. I think they gave my friend a free drink. Hardly making up for pouring syrup all over me. My friends all said they will never go back. When I worked in the service industry, pouring syrup all over someone's hair, back, and nice outfit would have been handled as a big deal. read more

The service for breakfast is terrible. We stood at the entrance for almost 10 minutes. The wait staff were running around but no one even acknowledged us. We eventually sat ourselves down and one of the waitresses finally gave us a menu with attitude! Worst is they didn't even have coffee because of a broken machine. We have been going to Mayfair grill for a long time now, but mostly to sit at the bar for drinks. The reason for that is Ricky who is a master in crafting delicious drinks of basically any kind. I do have to say since the change of the menu recently the food has improved tremendously. The jalapeño pesto pasta is a must as well as the dates. The ambience has changed a bit from quiet to lively and more higher end place, but for me the bar is still the place to be for a friends night out. If you enjoy craft cocktails (dont forget to ask for Ricky) and good food its a definite must try. read more

For entrees, you can't go wrong with any of the pastas they are all superb. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the avocado caprese was excellent. Let me just say... the food is absolutely delicious, and my experience was unforgettable! I started with the Black Truffle & Potato Croquetas--so fresh and flavorful with a modern, ingredient-forward approach that Chef Giorgio is known for. For my main, I had the snapper, which was perfectly flaky and bursting with flavor. The Key lime garlic butter was to die for!
