This is a great little park in the Colonialtown South neighborhood near downtown. We took the baby for a stroll this past weekend and enjoyed the breezy weather. This park has lots of tree coverage which is much needed in the summer months. You can tell there was likely some damage and downed trees due to the recent hurricanes and some of the big oaks have uprooted. It's still a nice park nonetheless with wooden bridges, 2 playgrounds, a basketball court, and tennis court, and plenty of covered picnic areas and benches. They have a parking lot onsite as well as a community center. This park is also directly across the street from Dickson Azalea park, so if you're down for off-roading in more of a forest vibe (not stroller friendly), be sure to skip over there for a true nature adventure! read more

This charming park is located next to H.H. Dickson Azalea Park. H.H. Dickson is credited with bringing azalea's from England to Orlando. Both he and Mayor Carl T. Langford are buried in Orlando's historic Greenwood Cemetery. Carl T. Langford (July 23, 1918 - July 9, 2011) was mayor of Orlando from 1967 until 1980. He was one of the first two Eagle Scouts in the state to be awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. After serving in the military he attended the University of Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1948. Carl T Langford is most remembered for being instrumental in bringing Disney World to Orlando. Carl T Langford Park is an oasis of nature in Orlando. It is located along Central Boulevard just south of downtown. This 19 acre park has an abundance of ancient shady live oaks, wide sidewalks, and green open spaces. There are also laurel oaks and swamp chestnut trees. Many birds, butterflies, and squirrels make their home here. Park amenities include a playground, boardwalk, basketball and tennis courts, picnic pavilions, a gazebo and neighborhood center can be reserved for parties. A loved discovering the suspension bridge. In 2014 a three foot pink bunny sculpture appeared in the park. The rabbit was placed in the park in honor of Charles Smith (Chase Smith) a longtime aide to City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. Smith died in August 2013 at the age of 41, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Chase Smith stepped in one year to play the Easter Bunny for the children at the egg hunts in Lake Como Park and here in Carl T. Langford Park. He was a natural and was beloved for the role. To honor him, a pink bunny was placed here and at Lake Como Park. I enjoyed such a relaxing visit to Carl T. Langford Park. I forgot how beautiful this park is! It's located off of South Street near downtown Orlando (but not too close.) I went over the weekend for a birthday party and even though it was raining it was still a lovely event. There is tons of space for lawn games and hanging out. The party I went to took place in the XL pavilion which was plenty of room for the approx 50 of us. There are multiple playgrounds for the kiddos and numerous trails (and a cute little bridge) to walk around. In the back part of the part I believe there are tennis and basketball courts as well. Across the street is also Dickson Azalea Park which is beautiful too! If you're looking for somewhere to take in some nature and relax you should check out Langford Park then go across the street for Azalea Park! read more

This park serves as a shady oasis and is an ideal spot for outdoor recreation. There are mature oak trees, paved sidewalks,green lawns and playground areas for the kids.The park is pet friendly so we brought our dog.There are pavilions, gazebos, grills and plenty of opportunities for bird watching. I was blown away by the amount of beautiful oversized oak trees.Lots of nice shade. read more

This is a nice Urban Park located on Central Avenue in the downtown area of Orlando, Florida. I would say that it is more Scenic than offering activities, but that is not necessarily A Bad Thing. It has a great vibe and it's a wonderful place to just sit back and enjoy a moment's respite. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you are looking for a chill place to hang out and enjoy a nice tranquil setting. read more

If not for my brother finding this park for my nephews 1st birthday, I would have never found this little gem. The parking lot is a bit small. I love that there is a little free library box!! Amazing, majestic trees, cute little bridges, plenty of "sidewalks" if you don't want to cross the bridges, a couple of different play areas for kids and a small pink bunny statue!! The shaded picnic pavilions that can be rented for events have plenty of seating and access to BBQ grills and a lot of surrounding green space to lay blankets. It is truly a beautiful park, great for walking, meditating, it is selfie/picture perfect. read more

It is a beautiful park, nice and peaceful, has grills and little cabanas, accesible bathrooms and dog friendly. The only thing I didn't appreciate was people with dogs off leash and not paying attention to them; other than that I really enjoyed exploring it. read more

Langford Park is beautifully maintained. The park is shaded with endless mature oaks. There are a couple of small but impactful playgrounds by age groups. The equipment is varied and allows for imaginative play. They have lots of green space and several pavilions and a large sized gazebo. There is a bathroom, grills and walking paths. This park would be perfect if it wasn't for the homeless with their belongings scattered around in each pavilion. read more

4 Stars for gorgeous trees, shaded picnic tables, a playground, a gazebo, and plenty of open space. I love walking from Dickson Azalea park all the way down to this park. While Dickson Azalea feels very natural and forest-like, this park is more manicured, with sidewalks and designated areas for parties, play time, and special events (usually weddings). Plus, there was a group LARPing (live action role playing) last time I went, so I'm SO VERY HERE for that people-watching. You can rent the several covered picnic table areas for parties (I had a friend who had her wedding lunch here), but note that you should have someone arrive early, because there are generally people hanging around the tables who may not be the best guests to crash the party. Just let them know you've reserved the space and they are pretty open to moving along to another gazebo. Still, as a small lady, I don't know if I'd be down to do that alone as they are generally men hanging around. Besides that, the park is beautiful and has so many spaces to explore. It's full of families on the weekend and lots of photo shoots going on due to the incredible trees and landscape. Overall, a great, scenic spot for a rustic, outdoor wedding; a kids' birthday; or just a picnic with friends. read more

My kids (3-12 yrs) and I come here once in a while for homeschool outings. It has a nice new playground near the parking lot and a couple other playgrounds set back from the road. The bathrooms near the parking lot are always closed when we come. A separate bathroom building is located along the path past the bright pink bunny statue. These tend to be open during the day. Gorgeous large mature oak trees spread throughout the property. Paved walkways curve around the park, near several large pavilions, and Fern Creek. Great that this beautiful park is located near to Downtown Orlando. Unnerving that homeless people camp out here. read more

What a truly hidden gem. I drove past this park when I decided to try a new driving route and just a little lost. I thought it might be a great place to walk my dog and catch some cool Pokemon. I was right about one of those things... I was so surprised when I began to walk around the park as there are many winding sidewalks to take different paths. There is even a mini suspension bridge among other bridges throughout the park. Several pavilions line one of the pathways and you can reserve these for birthdays and even weddings. It's a really quite and beautiful little park. My only qualm was the dozen or so homeless people smoking and sleeping around the park. Regardless, pup Jackson and I had a great walk even if we didn't catch any cool Pokemon. read more

From 1967 until 1980 Orlando was run by Mayor Carl T. Langford. Although that was before my time, I am going to guess that he did a few things right since they have not only established a park in his honor but a successful Neighborhood Center as well. This park was originally erected in 1937 and then was given a new name in 1981 after Mayor Langford left office. The Rec Center, that sits next to the park, is free to visit and runs daily from 10am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am until 5pm. They are closed on Sundays. One of my favorite things about the Center is that you can not only visit them for their seasonal programs but you can also rent out their space for special events or corporate programs. If it's summertime, you may want to sign your kids up for their 10 week Summer Camp which runs from June to mid-August. From October until March they feature Music in the Gazebo. The second Sunday of each month Central Florida Folk comes and plays free concerts, starting at 5pm, for anyone interested. They also provide 2 hour nature classes for any organized group (schools, churches, businesses) hoping to learn more about the environment. read more

Langford park is the best kept secret in town. Stately oaks in the oasis of serenity and natural wild. There is a family of owls, squirrels and even a pride of local cats. The place is well kept, maybe a little over kept, if you ask me. so much so to the peril of preservation of nature. I have been attending this park for well over six years and have seen the results of either ignorance or over zellousness at its.highest. natives plants have gradually disappeared, maintained out of existence, trees removed, some rightly so, as they did their time. There was noticeably missing any replicants, and now they are Woking very hard to evaporate the beautiful little stream traversing the park. Yes someone in their grand wisdom have seen it fit to poison the plants along the water's edge. It is not clear who initiated the grand plan to de-forest this little gem, what is evidently clear if something is not done and done soon Langford park will soon be mostly loose sand and a few random stone and a few tacky little concrete effigies. This park is really a great asset to the neighborhood. Couple with azelia park north across the street it is a wonderful park system. Let us use common sense as we design the maintenance programs for these parks. Sometimes the best thing to do, is nothing. Nature has an intelligence far superior to those whom we entrust to be stewards of our natural resources. Please give this park a chance to flourish once more. read more

Overall a nice park nestled in a quiet and quaint block off Central Ave. Two play areas for the kiddies ( one for under 5 one for above) equipped with swings, slides and other toys. Nice canopy of trees overlooks some boardwalk areas/ nature walks and also a gazebo at the end of one of them ( looks like they host small ceremonies there). Picnic tables and covered areas as well in one section. There is also a basketball court. The con's? Park is a little outdated... Equipment could use a once over and we saw lots of trash around the deck walk- really looks like it could use a little love. Bathrooms were not open...I did notice however portable toilets near the perimeter of the park. We'll be back ...the location is convienant...just wish the city would brush over this could be amazing park... read more

Shaded park with lots of old-growth oaks, cool bridges and winding trails. There's a playground in one corner, and pavilions if you'd like to picnic. It is one of the larger downtown parks, quiet, and easy to forget you are in the city while you are here! Also, one of the two pink bunny statues installed in memory of Commissioner Patty Sheehan's assistant, Chase Smith, is installed here, and it makes me smile every time I see it. read more

I lived downtown for so long and didn't know about this place until a few months ago The white bridge here is so pretty and it's like a magical forest down in the hollow. Yes, sir. I am an event planner and actually had the pleasure of decorating a wedding at Mayor Carl T. Langford Park. We decorated in the clubhouse and the gazebo. This is a beautiful spot for parties. Granted there are a lot of homeless people in the park, but the clubhouse and gazebo are a short walk away from the actual park. This is definitely one of the more romantic settings for a wedding. Nice park, open spaces and cool boardwalk. They had a water fountain and water bottle refill station. The bathrooms were locked so that was annoying. I did see a couple of homeless people lounging about and in the wooded area. It did affect on how I felt for my safety. I had my husband with me that carries, so I was ok walking around. I wouldn't have by myself. The park seemed pretty well taken care of had some lovey flowering plants. There is also a little sunken in park across the street. I think it's called Dickson Azalea. We also went over there and explored a bit. Quiet area. Not too bad overall. read more

This is a fairly large park for downtown Orlando. Its got beautiful scenery and paths of decent width for walking or otherwise getting around. My favorite aspect of this park is the suspension bridge, its only about 4 feet above the ravine underneath but suspension bridges are fun no matter what the circumstances. This park also has a unique long wooden deck that twists and turns over what looks to be a swampy area. maybe for gator watching though I doubt any gators reside their now. But in case one does happen to saunter by their are observation areas scattered about this contraption. Langford Park has alot of picnic areas and some grills, would be a fantastic place to hold a team BBQ or family get together. I've never seen it that crowded, it's probably fairly unheard of to anyone but locals. There are two playgrounds, one for younger children and another for the older age bracket. There are even some tennis courts and a basketball court in the back. The only possible negative aspect of Langford is that its south side backs up to Orlando's project housing district so it may not be the best place to hang out after dark. But I've certainly never had a problem. So grab a soccer ball or Frisbee and check it out. read more

This park is one of the hidden gems in Orlando. It is almost never crowded and offers plenty of natural shade. There is a tot lot and a playground for bigger kids 5+. The park offers some covered pavilions with grills. There are paths to walk and jog around and a tiny creek going through the middle. The one down side is that the park is also inviting to many of Orlando's homeless crowd and they are all over the park at times. I certainly wouldn't leave any valuables visible in the car. read more
