However, the lady that helped me, scratched my watch twice. Once with a small hammer and the other one with the tool she used to hold the watch while hammering it. The best part is that when I brought it to her attention, she said "that was the only way to do it, that she is been doing it for 20 years". His English is not the best, but his skills are top notch. After looking for an engagement ring for weeks (I already had stone), I went to see Ernesto to see if he could recommend me to someone as he does all the diamond setting for people in the building. He told me that basically, most of the rings bought off the shelf are from China and India and are not good quality. He told me with any pictures, he could make anything. I printed out a bunch of pictures of different features in my ring, and he said he could do it no problem. He even helped coach me through feature to make it better. I left my $11k diamond with him, and the pictures, and 2 weeks later, he gave me the most beautiful ring exactly as I wanted it!! I was shocked. I was very nervous but I got a good feeling about him....and when I saw the ring... it was insanely perfect. He also did a matching wedding ring.. .which fit perfectly with the engagement ring. And he's doing my wedding ring now.

In my case, the setting I had was designed for a round stone. Nevertheless, he was able to set the princess cut center stone into it beautifully. It cost around $35, and he was able to do it much quicker (about a week) than mailing the setting/stone to a company to do it. He is on the third floor of the Seybold building in downtown Miami, near the stairs. I don't speak any Spanish but his English is certainly good enough to communicate about what you want etc. He did the engagement ring setting in May 2017, and I just recently went back to him to set another stone into a necklace, which also looks great.
