I told my wife that this is the style, it is supposed to look like that. And I was thinking I could just buy my daughter another $20 pair?!?! But my wife wanted it done, so we left the jeans. Support local. I have two ripped jeans also (that I paid $15 each for). For $10 repair each, I am going for that ripped style, lol. Ambiance - Decent size location, in the corner of the mall. Plenty of mall parking. Open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. Business hours worn out on the door, so call to confirm. Remember, it is owner operated and he needs breaks also. Service - Owner cooperated, so if he is not here, he might be out to lunch at one of the other local businesses. He said it would be done in approximately a week, and we should get a call when it was done. After 1.5 weeks, we called to confirm it was done, made an appointment to come to pay and pick it up. Easy in and out. Price - $10, cash or zelle. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1959.

One of the last stops we went to before we made a decision was In Italia Men's Wear. We were greeted with warmth by both Jhovani and his assistant, even though Jhovani was working with another client. The place is intimate and there is always at least another client here each time we have walked in. My husband was lucky and found a suit "off the rack" as we were pressed for time. Jhovani went above and beyond while still offering to tailor it in time for my husband so he can look great in it before we left the following week even though his schedule was pretty packed. His assistant measured him to have the suit fit perfectly, Jhovani double checked her work as was very pleased. We were promised it will be done by end of day the day before we left. While looking around my husband also found the perfect shoes that matched my dress so we could coordinate. They delivered earlier than promised. We are very grateful for them. I highly recommend coming here to buy a suit. Jhovani also does fully custom suits as well. The service is impeccable, and so is the quality of what they have. Plus, we were stoked to support a small business. We were extremely pleased by the quality and didn't mind investing in this suit as it will last a long time. I loved how the store had everything from custom tailored to casual everyday options, all of which made by high quality designers, all carrying the hallmarks of having the best materials and craftsmanship available. This was quality you could see and feel, but also quality that Jhovani could speak to so you could share the story with others. This is what sets stores like this apart from other retailers and reminds you what you're paying for when shopping at them. I was beyond excited to give this gift and even more happy to see how well it was received. Jhovani is also a tailor and the shop offers tailoring for the items they sell. Tailoring is a dying art and while we can't access the craftsman here keeping it alive, I am glad to see it continuing and hope that Jhovani is able to find more talented folks so that we can all access this service. I was very specific from the beginning that I needed the wiring removed from the cups of the dress. I also requested the slit be moved up and the bottom hem shortened. When I arrived to pick up the dress, only the hem had been done properly. I was then told the remaining fixes would "take 10 minutes." Thirty minutes later, they had only adjusted the slit and the wiring was STILL in the dress. At that point, I had already repeated the same request multiple times. When I calmly explained AGAIN that the wire needed to be removed, the woman working began talking over me and arguing with me instead of listening. I am now sitting here waiting even longer for alterations that should have been completed correctly the first time after they had my dress for two full weeks. For the amount of money charged, especially with a rush fee, the communication, attention to detail, and customer service have been incredibly frustrating. I would not recommend this business if you need reliable tailoring or time-sensitive work.

My first negative review…read more This is the first negative review I've ever written because I know reviews affect someone's livelihood. However, my experience as a customer also matters. This was the third time my alterations were not ready on the promised date. When I came to pick them up, my claim ticket showed one pickup date while her records apparently showed another. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or taking any responsibility, she immediately became defensive and focused on why the mistake wasn't hers. When I returned to pick up my completed alterations, I made a genuine effort to put the situation behind us. Instead, she remained dismissive. I asked, "Are we okay?" She waved me off and told me that next time I should find someone else. Mistakes happen. Repeated mistakes can also happen. What matters is how a business treats its customers when things go wrong. After three missed pickup dates, what I'll remember most is not the tailoring, but the defensiveness, the lack of accountability, and being told to take my business elsewhere.

I decided to try this business based on the positive Yelp reviews. While it's important to me to…read moresupport small businesses, I was also tired of the long wait times at the more well-known alteration shops. As others had mentioned, Teresa was easy to reach by text and very friendly. Her pricing was also reasonable ($15 for shortening pants, for reference). The turnaround time for taking in a pair of pants and taking in the sleeves of a dress was only 1 week. The location on Bible Way was a bit hard to find at first. Note that she is now in suite 40, not 22. Also, don't expect a fancy store front or anything of that sort. It's a small and barebones operation, but there's ample room for getting fitted and trying on your garments after the alterations. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a minor mix up when I went to pick up my items. I showed up at the time she noted on my receipt but she was not there. However, we texted to arrange a different pick up time and that went smoothly. I'd suggest texting to confirm before heading down for pick up since she's not always at the shop. Overall, though, the quality is good for the price, and I'd happily use Salas Alterations again in the future.
