It's been almost 10 years since my last review and over 100 check-in's (wow, has time really been…read morethat fast?) and 6 dogs and 2 cats. We're down to 2 dogs now, but one of our Frenchies, Hershey, developed IVDD. IVDD or Intervertebral Disc Disease, is a common spinal condition, especially in Frenchies, where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae degenerate, bulge or rupture, pressing on the spinal cord and causing pain, nerve damage, and potentially paralysis. Last Saturday night, Hershey couldn't climb up the stairs after our evening walk and yelped as he fell backwards. I thought it was a side effect of the Prednisolone he was taking (on Reddit other Frenchie owners said this was common) so I didn't think much of it. My wife, thank goodness, insisted I take him to the emergency vet in Fullerton. (BTW, don't believe what you read on social media sites, especially when it comes to medical conditions...). Unfortunately, Dr. Jackson at OC Emergency Pet Clinic confirmed the worst. She recommended an immediate MRI and neurology consult that would cost between $12k and $20k!!! While we love our Hershey more than you know, that kind of money just wasn't in our budget. And, there was no guarantee the surgery would be successful or that another episode of IVDD wouldn't occur later. She did recommend that we check in with our regular vet, Dr's Garcia and Geller at Habra Linda Animal Hospital. THANK GOD we did!!! My wife texted the on call line for Habra Linda on Sunday evening and, believe it or not, Dr. Garcia was responding. He told us to bring Hershey in first thing Monday morning. On Monday, he ordered x-rays and started Hershey on IV steroids and strict confinement to reduce any further injury. Hershey was not walking on his rear legs and had no pain or other sensation. We were expecting the worst. Dr. Garcia said that he could not guarantee that Hershey would improve, but that we needed to give him (Garcia) a chance to do his thing, which meant x-rays, 3 days of high doses of IV steroids, an IV catheter and strict bed rest. The x-rays showed at least 2 discs that were pressing on the spinal cord and possibly a third. By day two, Hershey was standing!!! for short periods. OMG, it truly was a miracle. Now on day three, we are going to bring him home and put him on oral steroids and strict bed rest with weekly follow ups. Dr's Garcia and Geller are miracle workers. We have our baby, even if he won't be able to walk like before, with us to love and hold (he's only 3 years old) and we couldn't be happier. While having the devastating news of IVDD is unimaginable, at least we now have some hope and we didn't have to put him down. Now, I have to caution anyone reading this that our situation may not be the typical result. We were fortunate that Hershey responded and we have a fairly good result. However, we are eternally grateful for the doctors and all the staff at Habra Linda for the care and love they have given Hershey. In fact, Hershey has a sort of celebrity status there as he is known by just about everyone due to his condition and daily IV therapy. As I originally posted and as I post now, I wouldn't go anywhere else for our pet care needs. Dr's Garcia and Geller and the whole Habra Linda Team are more than vets and vet techs, they're lovers of animals and the human bond between them. And that's a whole lotta love and a lot to love.

I used herbs and fed her that special blend alongside his little feeding syringe of rice milk. He thought she was a goner and began speaking metaphysics. She's still going strong! It is life and death for my pet. 1 Vet emailed me back I will need an exam first, another Vet emailed a quote that saved me money, but Dr Gregg quote was so much lower I thought they made a mistake. While my pet was under the hospitals care for a week I stopped by to visit my kitty. In the car side a Vet tech was eating lunch and said your kitty was scared but she's gotten friendlier. She def spent time around my cat and then she said her kitty is right next to my kitty. They allow staff to bring pets to work so that made me feel like they are coming back in the kennel more often than the last vet I used. My old vet had a pet hotel next door but the hospitalized pets were kept in a room that stored office supplies with only 1 dog and my kitty at the time of my visit. I felt so much better leaving my kitty at Gregg's since I made a surprise visit and met some of the staff who had def spent time around my cat not just filled the food and water.

My daughter and I have been bringing our dog to your clinic for years. Throughout that time, we have always paid for services and have maintained what I believed was a positive relationship with your staff. As I was leaving the clinic today, a staff member walked out to my car and asked if I had paid for my dog's services. I was shocked and offended by the question. I had my receipt and had no intention of leaving without paying. The staff member appeared uncomfortable asking me, which gave me the impression she may have been instructed to do so by someone else. Feeling disrespected, my daughter and I returned inside the clinic to address the situation. Before I could speak with the lead staff member at the front desk, another employee stopped me and told me that I had not paid and had not been charged. This conflicting information only added to my confusion and frustration. I then asked a simple question: "Do you even want our business here?" because I was struggling to understand why I was being singled out. Instead of receiving understanding, I was met with dismissive behavior. One staff member rolled her eyes and was rude when I expressed my concerns. I was also told, "Don't be offended." Respectfully, I do not believe anyone else gets to decide how I should feel after being approached and questioned about whether I paid my bill. What continues to bother me is why I was the only customer approached in this manner. After years of being a loyal client, I expected to be treated with more respect and professionalism. My senior pup was very sick and needed additional care for pancreatitis, and as a pet parent, I was scared, overwhelmed, and worried about what was going to happen to him. From the moment I walked in, Lauren was incredibly professional, compassionate, understanding, and genuinely caring. She immediately helped us and got my senior pup in to be seen. Her kindness and reassurance during such a frightening time meant more to me than she probably realizes. Lauren assured me that they would do everything they could to make sure my baby was comfortable and properly cared for. When you are scared for the life and well-being of your fur baby, having someone greet you with patience, empathy, and compassion makes an enormous difference. I truly felt like my senior pup was being treated with care and dignity, and that we were not just another patient walking through the door. Do not trust this place with your pet care. I brought my Cane Corso in for cherry eye surgery on…read morehis left eye after Dr. Satleghi explicitly agreed to perform it. He told me he does these procedures regularly, has done them for years, and had performed a similar surgery on a cane corso just the week prior. After the dog was taken back for initial eye tests then returned to me, I noticed my dog now had a small cherry eye on his right eye. Dr. Satleghi and nurse Brenda claimed my dog had arrived with the cherry eye on the right eye. That was false. I had video of my dog in the waiting room only minutes before he was taken back, clearly showing no injury or cherry eye on the right eye. When I showed Dr. Satleghi the video, he became defensive and insulted, saying, "bring him back" and abruptly walked out of the consultation room. Instead of addressing the discrepancy or proceeding with the surgery they had already agreed to, I was called the next day by Nurse Brenda telling me Dr. Satleghi didn't want to do the surgery and to send him to an eye specialist instead. She also claimed the dog was too large for the surgery. They denied the service despite the fact that they routinely see dogs of this size and type for the exact same surgery. CLEARLY, "Doctor" Satleghi's poor response showed his defensiveness combined with ego/pride, especially under challenge. Mr. Satleghi: 1. You failed to admit error in front of a client. 2. You became sensitive when held accountable 3. You prioritized the appearance of being right over the pet's emergency needs. 4. Your poor communication skills under pressure and more concern over liability rather than the pets needs confirms your selfish ego needs over the welfare of our pets. This is not how a reputable veterinary practice should handle a client who simply asked for an explanation on the new cherry eye they caused and presents evidence of such. They agreed to the surgery, then reversed course and pushed me out once they were held accountable. The public deserves to know this before trusting their pet's care here. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your pet services that require honesty and consistency from the staff. Especially from a doctor with an ego and attitude problem. On a side note, my beautiful loving dog Thor had his eye surgery at a wonderful vet hospital in Norwalk the same day we walked in and it was SUCCESSFUL (see video below). The wonderful doctor was loving and genuinely kind. She even called me the next day checking on Thor and the surgery center was BEAUTIFUL with wonderful nurses and staff. Did I mention the price was even much less than this terrible place? Stay away from Satleghi if you love your pets.
