I ordered the prime rib, which is what they are supposed to be known for. I ordered my prime rib medium rare and it came out well done. Prime rib is usually served with a horseradish sauce but I didn't get any. I asked for a side and my server came back and said they had to make some. I had no problems with that, but when the sauce came out, it tasted way closer to tartar sauce than horseradish sauce. Truly, this was the worst prime rib that I have ever eaten in my life. I am hopeful the new ownership will turn things around for this iconic spot.

After a lot of salt and some pepper it was ok but I had hoped for real gravy instead of a mix. The Mac n cheese was good. Needed salt and seasoning - everything needed salt- but the pasta was al dente which we loved. Emma was our server and we knew her from before, she always does a great job! We took apple pie home just to try a dessert. It was not too sweet which we appreciate but just good, not great. Still we would order it again. I can see us eating there a couple times a week. Prices were fair, one thought though would be to lower the cost of iced tea. We used to always get pop or tea with our meals but now only get water. And I see so many tables doing the same. I don't know what a restaurants cost is for pop now but I'll never pay $3 for it. Tea is cheap to make and could be a much lower price and I think the local community would appreciate that. Next thought is that we liked the pool table in the side room. Maybe add a dart board and a game or two when you start serving beer? Kind of like the vibe at OMG Lounge in Owasso (amazing burger and fries). So our overall opinion of the entire meal at Downtown Grill was very positive and we are super thankful to have someplace in town that we like instead of having go to Bluejacket, Chetopa, Edna or further. Had to ask another waitress to take our drink order after 7 minutes of waiting (drink order should've been taken when we were seated by our waitress) Drinks were only refilled when asked (waitress should be eyeing the table with EVERY PASS) Had to track our waitress down after over 10 minutes of waiting to pay. I cannot wait 15 minutes for a waitress to come by just to hand me a menu, 10 minutes just to order a drink, another 20 minutes to receive my drink, an hour to receive my food then sitting with an empty drink the whole time because the waitress never comes by while eating for refills. Forget ever asking for anything, you only see them to get one initial drink order and your food served. Their wait staff is truly terrible. I've been going to Ms. Donna's for two years because I love it so much, but today's service was so bad, it ended my relationship with the place. The waitress saw us walk in, sit down, and never came over. There were two of us who waited for 15 minutes, and there were only about 4-5 other tables with people eating. This place is small to begin with, and so it's not that difficult to bring menus and drinks in a timely manner. Again, it makes me sad to write this, but enough is enough. If Ms. Donna had a new waitstaff and improved customer service, this place would be 5 stars in my book. If you still want to try it out, I recommend ordering take-out, then pick it up and eat it at home to avoid the annoyance and stress of dining in. The food is worth it!
