Returning to Pistol Pats's diner to try the dinner menu. On a recent call in order, we went with the chk frd stk. dinner, I suggest everyone try the whatever else till they decide to buy a better cut of meat , it was like chewing small, long, stringy, round, rubber bands and in between the rubber bands was a severely leather cooked, fried to perfection, can't cut through with a knife steak. Everything else was pretty good, mashed potatoes w/ wht grvy, corn, mozzarella sticks but there's something seriously wrong with the steak when you start looking forward to eating the fried concoction surrounding the steak during the meal.... you know what I'm sayin, I'd still be chewing that steak this very day ‍‍. Then... (clearing throat) let's talk about the catfish dinner w/ fries and slaw, I'm trying to be generous by saying it was a complete disappointment. The fries were wet, cold and undercooked and the coleslaw was warm and limp, completely disgusting even our cat debated eating the fish that wasn't eaten. It will be a minute before we order dinner again from Pistols I'm giving 2 stars, one star for each dinner, it was just sad. For the positive, the dinner roll was soft and warm, the mozzarella sticks were knocked outta the park, never tasted better If you are reading this review... we suggest to sticking to just breakfast at night hire a better cook, change the meat you are currently serving because there's no value in chasing away customers over bad cooks, lazy food checkers and crappy choices in food sourcing. The chicken fried steak was a nightmare past the awesome fried covering you dip it in, just down right inedible. The fish is awful and overcooked and your fries are undercooked, seriously what's going on there at night ??? cause it isn't cooking food correctly or even being checked before leaving, does anyone there try tasting what you're serving before you serve it??? This is another good option for dinner in Grove on Monday nights! I've had the Jay location for lunch before, so I wanted to try dinner in Grove. It did not disappoint. My chicken fried steak was hand breaded & huge! They were out of lots of appetizers and sides like mozzarella sticks & French fries. But I tried fried mushrooms, and they were good. Nice house made ranch. My waitress was the sweetest lady ever. And it's a very cute diner inside. Like others have said, it's bigger than it looks from outside! I'll definitely be back. read more

I have eaten in their restaurant one time it is very noisy and doesn't have atmosphere, but you do not really expect atmosphere at a quick place to get a hamburger.... Everyone that works there is very nice and the service was fast.... Everytime I've come here the service has always been quick and friendly. They seem to have allot of daily customers and know everyone! It's just a lil hole in the wall shop but that's just how you know the food is fresh and good! They make hand made milkshakes that are also to die for! read more

Stayed at a hotel I'll review here shortly. They recommended a place called Pistol Pats. Catchy huh? Pardon the Pun as Grove literally is surrounded by Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Beautiful town. Lots to see and do. If you love water. This is Heaven on earth. We stayed at the Hill Top Inn. More in my next review on that place. Pistol Pats. Talk about a place that has something for everyone and if you get there at the wrong time of day which they have great hours. You may decide not to eat there because their parking lot is full of cars and pickups. I ate there 3 times in 2 days. Yes, it's that good. From what I could see visually. All the food served looked awesome. Portions that would please the hungriest person. Wait staff knows their menu and imm guessing most of them have been there long enough to make a good hand. Its looks small but once inside. It has plenty of room. It seems to be a favorite of the Rich and famous and the normal. I absolutely enjoyed their foods. I will eat there everytime I go over that direction. Grove is an incredibly fun town. The lake even more fun but while you're this. Try to remember I am going to post about a place called Har-Ber Village. Wow, it is without a doubt a Diamond in this whole picture. More in a bit about this unique museum. Pistol Pats is clean cozy and down to earth good. It has become a favorite of mine. Go see for yourself. Prices are very reasonable and talk about that menu. Let's! Seafood not just fried catfish but Scallopes, Crab, Trout, Frog Legs etc. Burgers, steaks, and so so much more. No wonder it is a popular place in Grove Okla. read more

My wife & I ate here after church. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich & she had the salisbury steak which was on special. The staff was very friendly and the food came rather quickly. We had a few different waitresses throughout the meal ask if we needed anything. They were on top of things for sure! The diner itself seemed smaller until we got inside and saw that looks can be very deceiving. Not that the place was huge but rather it was a bit bigger than expected with plenty of room. The place was clean and atmosphere was very relaxed thanks to the staffs very welcoming and warm attitude. All in all we enjoyed this place and will definitely return. read more

Sometimes you've just gotta get breakfast at a hole in the wall joint. This was that time. This was that breakfast. And this was definitely that hole in the wall joint. Came in on a busy Saturday morning and was seated promptly in a chair that came straight out of the 80's. Didn't matter, it was comfortable like the one at grandma's house. I had coffee and water in under a minute. And despite inhaling coffee like a hungover zombie, my mug never got close to empty. The meal consisted of thinly pressed crunchy hash browns, scrambled eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, and a biscuit with gravy. To say it hit the spot would be an understatement. It wasn't fancy, but it wasn't supposed to be. Total tab? $10. Would I come back and eat exactly the same meal here again? Absolutely. P.S. - I'll leave commentary about the decor to those that care about such things. But the Bob Ross-esque painting by my table was pretty amazing. read more

Check for the specials on their Facebook page. Today was the Chicken Fried Chicken, which is one of my favorites anywhere, but my wife and I were in the mood for hamburgers. Two cheese burgers one regular and one Jumbo; both with the standard fixin's (FRESH lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle). I thought that we could split an order of fries. My wife seemed to think that I should order my own. To be different I ordered the Jalapeno Cheese balls. As it turned out the portion of fries was large enough for two people. We left a lot in the basket. I have never had the Jalapeno cheese balls. Tater Tot sized crispy coated fried balls of molten jalapeno flavored cheddar cheese. Unique, rich. Ok, so now I have tried them. Both of these sides were preprocessed and cooked from frozen. The burger patties were factory pressed quality, lean beef patties. Don't let this discourage you. Everything was cooked perfectly. I recommend the tasty burgers if you are in the mood for a burger. Better yet though, go for the specials. That was on everyone else's table in the restaurant today. They have a crab leg all you can eat special on Saturday night, which is a hell of a deal if you are a big eater. Checked the price of crab legs lately? The service was genuinely friendly and fast. This is a pleasant small town family restaurant, with diner style, bargain priced meals to please just about everyone. read more

This is the best of Small Town America family diners!!! They gave too much quality, delicious home cooked food for my money! And I've never said that before in a review in my 56 years. Had the Chicken Fried steak and it was the real deal! There was no guessing about it being real country fried steak. Nothing frozen or pressed about it. I opted for the salad bar and they said I could just substitute for my veggie. The salad bar plates were so big I felt guilty. They had real bacon and diced ham, and lots of other fixings. It did take a little while for the fried steak to come out, but you can get fast food or a pre-battered pressed steak patty somewhere else if you want. Home cooking takes a little time. I will DEFINITELY be back! Wish this place was in my hometown. Looks small from the road, but spacious seating inside with a great Diner atmosphere. Staff was tremendous!!!!! Yesterday for lunch my wife and I hat lunch and ordered 2 burgers and one order of onion rings and one order of Okra. The Onion rings were greasy and about 3/4 cooked. The brought fried pickles instead of okra. It was an honest mistake and they replaced the pickles with about 1/2 cooked okra.. We made do with what we had. I stood at the cash register and waited to pay which was right in front of the kitchen and prep area. Everything was filthy and the cooking area looked like a bomb had hit it. We went on Saturday night the the all you can eat crab legs. We arrived at 7pm to be told they had "ran out" of crab legs but were still serving other people crab legs. We decided to stay and order something different. We waited 20 minutes before our drink order was ever taken. We ordered our meals and an order of loaded fries as an appetizer but the waitress brought us fried green tomatoes instead so we sent them back. After waiting 45 minutes, we got up and walked out. The waitress blamed it all on the kitchen but the tables around us got their food in a timely manner... Unacceptable!!!! read more

We have been going to Pistol Pat's for several years when we come to our lake place. Have usually been pleased. Tonight we went in for dinner. Both had chicken fried steak which was as usual very good and tender w/great gravy. My husband had a baked potato (good) and peas which were served cold! My side of baked beans was delicious but the "mashed" potatoes were instant! Gross & watery. Did not eat. Our server did not return to check on us after we were served (by another person). At 7:30 a young lady began running a loud & very obnoxious sweeper in the dining area. There were numerous tables of patrons trying to conversate & enjoy our meals. Extremely disapointed. read more

Staff is always nice, food is always good. It can get busy so be ready for that. Catfish and chicken fried steak is always a good call.

One of my favorite places to go in Grove. They make you feel so welcome every time and as you return they get to know you. I definitely recommend the pancakes, cheeseburger, Cajun Qs, and milkshakes.
