To kick off our mother-daughter vacation, we stopped here for lunch. I ordered the club on wheat and a sweet tea, and we shared the giant plate of fries. Daughter ordered the cheeseburger and coffee. The club was delicious, but they made it on white instead of wheat, but it's fine. The fact it had real ham and not some processed deli meat more than made up for it. The fries are worthy of an entire paragraph themselves. They are so crispy. I don't know what batter they use, but it is perfect. One plate is definitely enough for two people, maybe even three. The daughter raved about the coffee. She said it tasted like, "it was made with love," whatever that means. Lol The waitresses were all nice and seem to all take care of all the customers. I liked that they all helped everyone instead of being "assigned" to a particular table. Overall, the place is clean, prices are more than reasonable, and food is good. read more

A true, country, highway café where the locals and working folks eat. Nothing fancy. Friendly fast service. A good cup of coffee, that was kept full. A tasty breakfast cooked exactly as I ordered it. Great prices with daily specials. The menu doesn't say, but I'm guessing that you can get breakfast all day. And yes, Oooh yeah, pie! The café is at the intersection of Highway 59 and 60 at the Will Rogers Turnpike, Afton Exit. There is a large parking lot for Semi rigs. Small town diner - this place does alright with their dishes. And the price of everything is certainly (very) reasonable. Gizzards &Livers: These were pretty darn good. A good coating...cooked well. I'd get these anytime at this diner. Pork tenderloin: A very good pork tenderloin sandwich. Very good size and good fry in the pork. Didn't come with onion, which is always a must - just add it. Mashed potatoes and gravy: Gravy needed to be seasoning much more on this day. Mashed potatoes were a good tasting homemade potato. Hamburger steak: My kid has this and thought it was a pretty good dish. A good clean little diner. Good service by our waitress. We have been eating here for 15 years. Wonderful food until the last few times. We are coming less and less. Had hair in our food 2 times. They always mess up my Hamburger and Put Cheese on it. Cheeses and dairy allergies matter. This time burnt my onions rings brown and black! My husband got a raw hamburger. Monday service, the waitress visit and get a waitress to wait can be a challenge . Friendly service, prices are good and the food tastes homemade. CFS sandwich was delicious, some can be tough and hard to bite through but this one was tender inside with a crispy hand battered crust. The Hot steak sandwich turned out to be CFS too which wasn't what we expected but it was really good. The star of the show though was the pie! I wanted the raisin pie but they were out so I got the coconut. It was the best coconut pie since my grandma used to make them! The lemon was really good too...but oh my...that coconut!! read more

I don't understand how there are even five-star reviews. I guess I didn't realize this was one of those places where the staff are paid to be rude to you on purpose! The waitress I had wasn't only rude and snappy, but she also made me never want to go there again. I have been going there since I was a child, and it's completely changed in the last few years. I don't know what's happened to this establishment. My main complaint is the service. Granted, we did come in with ten people and didn't expect to be served quickly, but waiting an hour and a half to get food while also getting no refills, except once after begging to get the coffee refilled, was unacceptable. The most frustrating part of this whole interaction was when I went to pay our bill. Initially, they discussed who would be on what bill, but there was massive confusion. The waitress seemed frustrated and mad, and there was no clear resolution about how the bills would be split. She never asked me or my wife if either of us were going to be on our own separate ticket. I went up and said what I had, but they had issues finding the ticket. The waitress snapped at me and said I also had my kid's meal, which should have been part of the ticket. She proceeded to holler in the middle of the restaurant that my grandmother had said this and that. I responded that she never asked us if we were going to be on a separate ticket and mentioned the confusion about splitting the tickets aloud because I figured it would be an issue, and I was right. After this interaction, I stated out loud that I was sick of this person's attitude. I later found out from a family member who's been going there for years that the person checking me out, who couldn't find the correct items on the tickets, was the owner. She chuckled in my face after I expressed my frustration, as if it happens so often that it doesn't even bother her anymore. She just doesn't care. You can guarantee that I'm going to recommend that no one ever go there again, especially my friends and family. I don't know if it's just me, but the food has definitely gone downhill a lot as well. Which is two pancakes with two eggs and two pieces of bacon. * cheeseburger with only pickles and a side of fries covered in chili * apple pie ala mode * a slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting. * 2 glasses of water Issues: * My husband ordered his eggs over hard we had to send them back four times and he finally gave up and they were still runny yolks. * None of the food had very good flavor. Most of it was very Bland. * The water was very heavily chlorinated and tasted like wet dog. * There was almost no cheese on my chili cheeseburger. The good: * Everything we ordered only came up to $21 * The bacon seem to be quality bacon and it was cooked correctly. * The wait staff was attentive * The restaurant appeared clean. * plenty of parking It appeared to be a hoppin little restaurant. Lengthy review: We stopped by this quaint little diner on our way to and from Missouri from the middle of Oklahoma. The first experience was so pleasant that we made sure to time our trip just right so we could have lunch there again on the way back. Each time was a different experience, so I'll review each one separately. -- Experience #1: Waitress was pleasant, helpful and polite. I ordered direct from the menu without any changes, food arrived promptly for the amount of customers dining, and was delicious. 5 stars! -- Experience #2: Different waitress. She was either timid or wished to be elsewhere, hard to tell. I ordered something off menu but used the menu as reference, pointing and explaining in a way that I thought made sense. Food arrived quickly but order was wrong. It was remedied in a sloppy manner, and I was unable to complete the entire plate, which is wasteful. 2 stars. -- The diner itself is in need of a remodel, with duct tape on every booth and water damage on many ceiling tiles, but the bbq is amazing (when ordered directly off the menu and not asked to be placed on the fries instead of on a bun, in which case you'll receive a plate of fries covered in bbq SAUCE and then corrected by adding a heap of bbq meat over top of that, leaving a barely edible, drenched mess - see experience #2) -- Overall, if you're ever up that way, the price is worth a stop.
