They power-washed and prepped well, patched and repaired everything, and we could not be more happy with the results. Special shout out to Anibal who is so patient and solution oriented. He was extremely flexible on sampling and on a hiccup (which turned out to be nothing) regarding our final color selections. Anibal also gave us useful observations and commentary on our (separate) window replacement project and brought to our attention several potential issues which we were able to have addressed. He is very knowledgeable about the city inspection process too -- a friendly, helpful and professional person. We hired MB Jessee to paint the body and trim of our home. It's fairly large, two-stories. The house came out beautifully. They prepped well, including wire-brushing and filling voids, power washing, then two coats of paint on both the body and trim (including the gutters and under the eaves). We also had the deck stained. It had been neglected for about six years and it showed. But after the guys prepped and stained it, it looks like new. So the basics of the job (how the house and deck came out) is Grade-A. But beyond that, the communication and professionalism of Alfredo (our project manager) was A+. He went above and beyond. They are pricey, but fair, considering all the work they do - patching and repairing, removing obstacles before painting, etc. I had initially delayed the start date of the project, but as soon as I gave the greenlight, they had our paint job scheduled within a couple of weeks. Anibal was our project foreman, who came by to do a final walk through and go over any outstanding questions. MB Jessee Painting was a horrible company for me to contract with for the painting of my residence. I am surprised at this company because they have good reviews. We worked with their sales representative Shawn to come up with an agreement that provided extra paint coats and sanding down on some areas based on the parts of the home that previously wore down faster. We signed the agreement and put down a deposit. They needed to provide one new window shutter, which we paid for. Once the painting job started I noticed that they were not sanding down and prepping my windows in the way the agreement was written. We never had a project manager. I couldn't tell if the project manager quit or they were understaffed. The lead painter on site was a nice man, but not a very good communicator. I asked Shawn the salesman, and the lead painter on site to meet with me. The next day they met with me and we reviewed the contract, where I showed them how they were not following the contract. Shawn apologized and said they would follow the agreement. He then suggested the lead painter send me a text every day, at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day, giving me updates on the project. I agreed to let them continue. The project took about it a week longer than expected, which is about 33% longer. I never received the twice daily updates, but the painters were polite and I was content the project was moving forward more or less according to the agreement. The site manager came to me and said that the shutter was going to take an additional four weeks. The date that I signed the original agreement and made a deposit was about six weeks before. They never checked on the size of my shutter until the day they were about to put it up. The lumber Company didn't have the right size shutter immediately available. Again, they were mismanaging my project. They promised to come back for a site inspection and put up the shutter when it was ready. I didn't hear from them for over two months. I seriously thought they forgot about my project and I was looking for someone else to finish it. I really didn't wanna work with them anymore. Nevertheless , we arranged a day for them to come and inspect their work, which was now two months old. This time, they sent me a project manager. I reviewed the areas of the house that were not done properly with the project manager. It took him and two workers about 10 hours to touch up the house per the agreement. I still don't know if they did all the coats of paint that were in the agreement. They also put up the shutter after painting it that day. The shutters were to have three coats. If they did all three coats, they did them all in one day. There were many many more issues throughout the project. They broke my wooden fence and replaced it with a non-matching piece of wood in a style that doesn't match. They broke my sprinkler. They painted the wrong color on the trim. I had to call the site manager, and he went and got new paint. The entire process of picking colors was unprofessional and not commensurate with a project that would cost $18,000.. Additionally, I was very disappointed that I never heard from the sales representative at the end of the project. I wasn't sure if he was embarrassed or if he just didn't care. At the front of the project he was very friendly and acted like he was our best friend and then he disappeared when things were going bad. Because there was no project manager, when I would email the company I had no idea who I was talking to, what role they had, etc... There is a lot more to share, but this review is already very long. They wasted a lot of my time and I do not recommend MB Jessee painting for people who care about a quality project or their own personal time, let alone their money. read more

I am happy to recommend MB Jessee Painting Company with whom I've worked for over three years on a variety of residential and commercial projects. They have never failed to amaze and delight me with the quality of their work, their vast knowledge and skill, and equally as important, the professionalism and kind-heartedness of their workers. They always go above and beyond the basic scope of the job to leave me delighted with the finished product. Anibel, the field manager for the company, with whom I've worked on every project, is terrific to work with. He analyzes the job on the front end and takes care of everything from sourcing materials to job scheduling. He knows his trade well and gives excellent advice on best practices and safety while managing the teams and making absolutely sure the job is carried out in the best possible way. On pretty much all of my projects, he's perfectly matched existing paint colors, finishes and trims - to the delight of us all - and if the job exceeds the estimate, he provides a clear breakdown of additional costs. He always follows through on his commitments and is an excellent communicator. He makes sure the workers have everything they need to complete the job on schedule and to the highest possible standards. Javier, the lead painter on my most recent project, went above and beyond the scope of his job to make sure the end project was perfect. He and his team repaired interior sheetrock as needed, replaced crown, baseboard and window moldings as necessary, and matched old paint perfectly. Most amazingly, they took down the twenty-year old interior plantation shutters and completely reworked them; stripping and repainting them and redesigning how the multiple shutters best fit the windows, (they were terribly hung by the original installers) and replacing the hardware. All I can say is WOW! The shutters look better than they have ever looked - and for about a third of the price of new shutters. In addition to doing an awesome technical job on everything they touched, Javier and his crew were more than wonderful to work with. They befriended the tenants to the extent that one baked them cookies and missed them when they were gone. They were punctual and cleaned up everything daily before they left. During one large project we did together, I fell ill and was unable to visit the job site. Javier took complete control of finishing up the project and cleaning everything to perfection before he wrapped things up. He called me regularly to report progress, and in the end left everyone delighted with his work. And that alone is worth the price of the ticket! These guys do what they say they will do and do it exceptionally well. If you can't tell by now - I'm a big fan of MB Jessee and everyone there. I wouldn't hire another painting company at half the price. They are more than painters. They are terrific people with a lot of talent who make hard work fun and leave behind a lot of smiles! read more

If we could give MB Jessee 10 stars we would! Excellent work from start to finish! Very efficient company! The Crew: First of all the crew was super nice and listened to what we needed with no attempt to upsell us like many other companies do. They were very responsive to texts and calls, and if they were going to run late by a few minutes they always let us know. The Job: We had all of our old, grubby oak kitchen cabinets and drawers refinished (sanded and stained, etc.) They dismantled them all and took them away to work offsite. Then they tackled the sanding and refinishing of the cabinet 'boxes' and framework in the kitchen. That's the part I was dreaded because of the mess! But the company completely walled off the kitchen with a clever plastic barrier so --no mess! The barrier also allowed us access to other parts of the house. When they were finished with the kitchen and took the barrier down there was minimal to no mess! The Result: The results were amazing! The cabinets and drawers look like new! 2.5 years ago I had MB Jessee completely scrape, prime, and paint a significant amount of steelwork that holds up my driveway. I was happy with the results. But a few weeks ago I noticed rust peppering through the paint, which of course left me unsettled. Given that there is a 3 year warranty on the work I immediately called the company and Vincente (shout-out for being completely customer-focused in this situation) looked at it, determined why it had failed, and immediately (within days) had a crew on site to completely re-prime and re-topcoat all of the steelwork (a large job). There was never any question of their need to re-do the work and they worked continuously to complete the re-painting. Another shout-out to his crew, Raul Torres and Nicolas Carrillo, who got the job done with minimal issues. This new work also carries a 3 year warranty, and I've made a calendar entry to check out the condition in 2.5 years; hopefully it will then look as good as now. Overall, we had an excellent experience with MB Jessee. Communication was excellent at all times. Anibal, Alberto and their crew were extremely diligent in understanding the specifics, preparing the job, and undertaking the painting work. The signed estimate from MB Jessee did not change, and any additional work orders (i.e. carpentry for dry rot) were always notified, discussed, and approved in writing before work was commenced. The result? No "surprise" billing, and no ever-increasing scope of work. This way of doing things keeps everything stress-free and on track. Ours was a large, complicated month-long exterior paint job on an ornate Victorian building. These types of job always have a fairly extensive "punch list" of final items, mostly minor, which need to be rectified or redone. Without question, and before final payment was collected, this crew came back each time, on time, to fix everything until it was 100% perfect. MB Jessee completed a four-day exterior paint job on selected areas including some detailed work on decorative balconies and front iron porch gate, as well as sealing some concrete cracks with Sikaflex. While the job was fully priced on the high side, the quality of work was excellent. The work was largely done by Javier and he was always timely, courteous and gave attention to detail.
