I wish I could give Bay Area Grout Specialist five stars because Noe and Maria are super nice! Noe gave a prompt response and scheduled me within a couple weeks for shower grout and floor grout. Noe and Maria arrived on time and did a beautiful job on the shower regrout and Noe even accommodated some last minute requests to add caulking in the kitchen and quarter round. Unfortunately, we had different ideas about what grout 'touch-ups' meant for the floors - I wanted a few spots regrouted to match the rest of the flooring's grout color - but it really lacked a professional touch and didn't look good at all. I did invite Noe to come back to redo it, and it still did not meet the professional standard I paid for. I would have appreciated more thorough communication from the start to make sure I was getting what I needed. To be honest, this was not the cheapest quote I got but paid more because of the great reviews. I would be happy to change my review to 5 stars if the team wants to come back for a full regrout on the floors, but I'm not planning to pay any more than I already have. The rain was coming and I had a leak- so I was hoping Noe could come by and do a Quick Look & see if he could figure out the leak. He did! He did a seal and when the rain came and went the leak did not happen! Now we know where to address when we have more time and sunshine. Also had him check out my front steps that seem to need to be re-grouted - he pointed out white water marks coming out from the tiles is a sign of water getting in behind so he went tile by tile to figure out how many are loose. Our tile floor is 20 plus years old. We had water damage with a faulty dishwasher pump in the kitchen. The damage wasn't realized until weeks after it occurred loosening the tile and ruining the grout. Noe gave me an estimate from pics I took. Another contractor had really botched the caulking around my bathroom sink and in addition the caulking around my bathtubs needed to be replaced. I had emailed around for bids and I had gotten several "not possible" due to my sink being up against a wall and not a back splash - or - they may be able to but they could damage the walls and I really should hire a painter also. I had some serious calcium build up on my shower floor. The calcium build up was so severe that I couldn't take the shower drain off to snake the pipe. Its is extremely unfortunate that we have to be the first to write a non-five star review for this business. We hired Noe & his team to help with our bathrooms. While Noe was good at explaining what can and cannot be done, setting the right expectation of where the grout will hold vs not, and cleaning up after the grout work - we were unfortunately left with a damaged cabinet and multiple chipped tiles. While filling the grouts under a floating cabinet, care was not taken to be careful of the bathroom fixtures i.e. laminates on the cabinets. Albeit a small chip, it stands out like a sore thumb in an otherwise pristine bathroom. I wish Noe had retained the piece that chipped so I could glue it back or at least let me know when it happened so we could salvage the same. After the work, when I pointed out that the laminate chipped, he feigned ignorance despite showing him the "before" pictures of the bathroom. I've tried all the DIY tricks to hide the chip, but nothing works. Since then we've had 2 independent contractors come out to inspect - and both confirmed that it could've been avoided, if the worker was careful. I now have to spend $$$ to replace the entire length of the cabinet, since that specific laminate is not available locally. As for the chipped tiles in corners, I was informed By Noe that it is "normal" for small tiles to chip. This was baffling considering I've had bathroom work done before and never had those issues. You just need to be careful and not rushed. Noe's quote for the work was NOT the cheapest and we did not negotiate based on other quotes we received. Despite all this, we paid in full. read more

Noe did a wonderful job making our travertine-tiled bathroom look brand new! He responded promptly to our Yelp quote request and came by to see the bathroom in-person shortly after. We needed re-grouting of the shower stall, bathroom floor, and vanity, as well as cleaning and sealing of the tile, and re-caulking around the toilet base and sink. Noe answered all our questions and sent us a work order confirming the project scope and cost soon after. The price was very reasonable and it was so helpful to have all the information about the project (scope, date/time, price, contact info) organized in one document. Noe is the ultimate professional and it showed in everything he did. On the scheduled day, he arrived on time and was conscientious about our home and personal space. He wore booties the entire time he was working, put on a mask when he saw that we were wearing them, and had great protocols for protecting the surrounding areas from debris and damage. He was done within 4-5 hours, and the results were fantastic. The old and new grout matched perfectly and the tiles looked especially vibrant after the cleaning and sealing. If I had to nitpick, there was some grout/caulk residue left around the edge of the sink and base of the toilet (but this was relatively easy to clean off) and some of the new grout lines were a little thicker/wider than the original lines. But these were minor details and did not detract from the overall transformation.
