I rarely give bad reviews online but in this case I think it's my responsibility to share what I went through so others who read my reviews can possibly avoid going through what i did. First time we dealt with the store, we came into the store to ask about how our phone work outside the country. The guy took our info, "looked into" our account, told us we will "automatically " switch to the internal plan once we land and charged $20 extra a month. NOT true, after we came back, we had $200 extra on the bill cause we were charged $12 per day. Second time, we came to the store to add an additional line right before we travel. I specifically asked for one on international plan. After I landed, AGAIN, I received a message of $12 a day cause I am NOT on the right plan I asked for. In addition to what I experienced, my husband went on his own one time and completely mis-informed also. There store in Staten Island on Amboy road treats customers the same as the other horrible stories.They said we could upgrade from a sumsung s5 to a s6 for 3.00 per month per phone and gave us no receipt.When we finally got a bill from Verizon we found they charged us 575.00 per phone and other charges we had actually bought phones gave them the old ones ,one model prior ,while s8 were sold for that amount.They refused to take them back and verizon because it is not a corporate store could do little about it.Go to corporate aviod these retailers this particular one RPA trading dba MBA wireless has stores in Queens,Staten Island and Pa. and avoid them read more

The service was great; however, I was shocked to discover that this location's price was 4 times the amount the price at the manufacture (Qmadix), which ships via Amazon. Someone needs to address the business practices of this operation. My call to the NYS Attorney General's office will hopefully be the first step. They scammed my unwitting husband into thinking he needed to purchase a tablet plan to get better deal on phone plan (false); they told him he could not use one of my unlocked iPhones for is upgrade (false); coerced him into buying a piece of crap for $500, which he'll be paying off forever; when it was clear that phone was not working properly they denied it (and it's flashing lights and random beeping) and ultimately told him he had to go to Samsung which he refused to do. They took the clearly defective phone, gave him a temp replacement, and said they'd call in a few days. That was two months ago. When I went in to inquire, they refused to offer any service at all and barely acknowledge that the events had even taken place. They call customer service on your behalf while you're standing there like an imbecile and make you tell the story again. When asked by the rep what I wanted to see done, I told her " take this brand new, factory packaged tablet still in the box with 0 data used (though he's paying $10 per month) and waive the $145 cancellation fee." Request denied. I've been a Verizon customer since they began in 1983!! Before the guys in this scam of a store were born. There is no regard whatsoever for customer loyalty. Being a twenty year + customer of Verizon is meaningless to these guys when problems arise with equipment or shady contract deals. It's all about the new victim. Went to the store because my iphone 4 was not working. The man behind the counter took the phone and hooked it up to something and a few minutes later told me my motherboard was fried and antenna was no good anymore. I did have a crack on the screen and was told because of that i would have to upgrade my phone. When asked if verizon would replace it or apple I was again told the crack was the issue and needed a new one. I then left and called verizon myself and was told that if the tech guy over the phone couldn't get it to work they would send me a replacement iphone 4with no questions asked. The kicker here is that my phone was not broken at all. Turns out they messed something up on there end. The man on the phone asked for my phones ID number and was fixed in 10 minutes. I have been a Verizon customer for the last 8 years and have never dealt with anybody as unethical as the people working at this store. I have a five-line plan that covers myself, my wife, my brother, and both of my parents. "MBA Wireless" on 116th Street in Rockaway Beach is a "Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer," which pretty much meant they are like a franchise owner, but not a direct part of the Verizon corporation. The following review pertains to the criminals who own and operate MBA Wireless. A few months back, my father went to this store because his phone was experiencing some problems (I don't know the details, I live 2,700 miles away). They took his phone into the back (based on other comments, I've noticed this is a trend) and told him that his phone was toast and he needed to upgrade. They told him there would be no charge for the upgrade. Later that month the bill posted with an extra 80 dollars tacked on in upgrade fees and device costs. Earlier this month my mother went into the store to make a payment towards our shared family account. She paid in cash and was told that the amount would be processed toward the month's bill and that she can check online to see when it is posted. It turns out that they never posted the payment to our account, and never issued her a receipt. They pretty much took her trust for granted and stole her money. I know we live in a world where you can't trust people to do what's right without some kind of oversight, and she definitely should have demanded a receipt before leaving the store, but how is it that these guys just keep getting away with this level of untrustworthy behavior? I will be contacting Verizon Wireless customer service tomorrow to initiate a formal complaint about this particular retailer. Odds are nothing will happen to them, but if we say nothing, we don't really get to complain. I challenge anyone who has been "had" by these poor excuses for human beings to also file a complaint. I've upgraded all my devices here for years! I've always been helped by Fahad and Elliot. They are extremely thorough in explaining my bill break down and always do whatever they can to help my bill go down. I also have few tablets from here which are the best to have when I'm at school or send my parents on a road trip. I am surprised to read the other reviews, these guys always go out of their way to help me and a few of my friends that I've sent here. I rather go to them then any other store. I was having an issue with my bill and I couldn't get any help from Verizon corporate so I decided to come to beach 116th. I must say because I saw a couple negative reviews I was slightly hesitant to go there but thank god I did. I was immediately greeted when I walked through the door and every rep in there was very kind and hospitable. They ended up lowering my bill, applying a discount and I received a great deal on a galaxy. Overall great experience and I am a very happy happy customer. I recommend to all!! read more

I was honestly, completely shocked when I read the three other terrible reviews for this Verizon location. After my experience there this morning, I thought I would find other glowing reviews. I am up for 2-year upgrade under my parents plan. As a recent college graduate I wanted to save a little money so I bought a certified pre-owned iPhone 6 (note, I will never buy certified pre-owned again after this experience). After receiving the phone in the mail yesterday I went to activate it and it would not even power on. Basically, Verizon sent me a lemon. So I went to this Verizon store in hopes that they would be able to trade in the phone or at least point me in the direction of how to get a working phone. The guys were exceptionally nice and helpful. Because I bought a certified pre-owned phone it makes the exchange process for a working phone more difficult (again, never doing this again) but the guys here went through pretty much every option with me and helped decide what would be easiest and best for me. They even called Verizon and helped me on the phone with customer service to ensure I would be able to receive a working phone. The woman on the phone, Jessica, was also incredibly sweet and helpful. She explained to me that because certified pre-owned phones are ordered via corporate Verizon online that I would have to take it to corporate store (which this is not), but that once I took it there they would be able to give me a working phone and that all this information would be in the notes of my account. However, when I went to this corporate Verizon store (on Rockaway Turnpike, stay away from this store) they were the most unhelpful. They told me everything I had spoken about in the store and on the phone was wrong. I had to ask them to just look up my account information, because all they did was say no to me and want to move on. They literally had me in tears. So, needless to say, that negative experience really highlighted the awesome one I had at the Beach 116th store. So much so that I am going back tomorrow just to double check exactly what I should do to make sure Verizon as a company doesn't screw me over. I actually trust the guys here to put my interests as a customer to heart as opposed to the totally incompetent employees at the Rockaway Turnpike location. read more
