He set expectations that my phone may not recover but that he would try to dry out the components and inspect the damage anyways despite being very busy and a lot of customers coming in. The day before the backup drive arrived, of course, my laptop crashed and I got the blue screen of death. I tried Dell but of course Dell is useless. I gave Ben my laptop and prayed he could extract my data--two years' worth of pictures of me and my kids, numerous writing projects and all kinds of personal files.
