Best way to connect to public transportation to and from Logan Airport. It is free. Sometimes a tad confusing with their numbers and directions if it's your first time in town, i had papers with me, but with luggage and all I always ask the driver to make sure I head to the right direction, it's the right bus. We used it to connect to the Blue Line to and from Government center. If you don't have a ton of luggage, this is the best way to get to and from the airport! read more

We had one free day in Boston before our organized tour of the New England fall foliage tour was to begin. What did we want to see in the short time. The five of us were all in agreement we wanted lobster rolls for lunch at Seaport. As for sightseeing we decided to head down to Faneuil Hall and walk part of the Freedom Trail. From the Embassy Suites by Hilton at Boston Logan airport it was less than 10 minutes to Airport station. We cut through the park and headed to the station on foot. Standing at the ticket machine we were trying to decide how many rides we wanted to buy. Fortunately there was a MBTA agent on hand. He suggested we buy a one day unlimited Charlie card for $11.00. We each purchased one. Then we took the blue line to get to Faneuil Hall. Later we also took the SL3 to get to Seaport from Airport station. The Charlie Card was perfect. And every driver we encountered was friendly and very helpful. read more

I find this very okay, easily getting to and from the airport to public transportation (this leg is free), reasonably safe, clean, and I got my transit pass for the week before boarding. Feels safe, sort of clean, no vomit on the train (public transportation standards are kind of low for me if I can get from the airport to my hotel more cheaply than taxi or Lyft). To get here from baggage claim you need to take the shuttle bus, and that's not very clearly marked. Not everyone will be helpful, but all the lowest level (hardest working) airport employees know where to catch the right shuttle bus because so many of them take MBTA. It's fine if you're traveling with carryon luggage, if you're burdened by bigger heavy bags this might not be a comfortable choice. read more

From the airport, you can take either the 22, 55, or 66 airport shuttle over here. At this station, you can take the blue line over to the Government Center station to connect to the green line. This is a very convenient station for anyone flying in and out of the Boston Airport. The blue line goes straight from the airport to downtown and you can connect to any of the other lines from there. They also had a shuttle bus right outside the exit that would take you to any of the terminals. It was half outside which made it seem cleaner than some of the other stations. read more

The Airport station is a little nicer than some of the other Blue Line stops. It's fairly convenient to get a bus connection to either the Silver Line or the airport shuttle buses. I really like how they situated the station next to a large park. The one thing to keep in mind is all of the bus connections are all on one side of the station. When you come out of the station on the outbound side, the Silver Line buses are to the left and the buses that will take you to the airport terminals and rental car are to the right. Not every airport shuttle bus goes to every terminal. The entrance on the inbound side needs to be a little bigger. People tend crowd around this entrance given there's not much room between the fair machines, the turnstiles and people coming down the walkway stairs. read more

Considering that this is the last interaction that many folks will have with the City of Boston, you'd think that they'd do a better job of running the operation. This evening, I got off the train and walked up to catch a bus to the terminal. I was there for a solid TWENTY MINUTES while watching the number of minutes on the "next bus arriving" sign go from 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 to 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 to 5 to 4 to 3 to 2. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS GOING ON HERE? Meanwhile, plenty of "DROP OFF ONLY" buses showed up and let people out but none arrived to let people on. Enough of this nonsense, I finally went up to one of those "drop off only" and asked the driver what was going on. "Shift change," he said. Screw you, Boston. This is seriously f'ed up. On the plus side, the signage was good and it was easy to find my way from the platform to the spot to wait for buses. read more

As much as the Silver Line out of the airport can be convenient (and free!), it's pretty much useless when it's rush hour. This is where the blue line Airport MBTA station shines. Taking the free shuttle to the station is easy and void of traffic perils. Once you're at the station, the blue line itself (being the newest in the MBTA network) is clean, spacious, and runs very well. Depending on where you're going from the airport, it may be slightly inconvenient doing so via the blue line but I've learned to weather the detour element (as it's much better than the alternative, sitting in traffic in the tunnel). read more

When I entered from the shuttle bus I must have looked lost because a transit assistance person stepped up and asked me if I needed a hand. She walked me through the process to get a card and tickets, and then helped me figure out which trains to take to get to Mission Hill, and which stop to use. She then walked me up to the track. I thoroughly enjoyed stopping at this station on my way back to the airport because I definitely felt that it saved me more money than to take the taxi. I was pleasantly surprised that the Blue line was clean, fast, smooth and with a $15, 7-day Charlie ticket card, I definitely got my money's worth (versus Taxi at $33 on the way from airport to downtown which was only a mere 3 miles!) I loved that they have a complimentary shuttle that goes to the terminals and from downtown Government Center to airport took only 20 minutes, it would have taken far longer in rush hour with a taxi. The shuttle was fast, service was friendly and got me where I needed to be. Thanks MBTA! read more

This is more of an overview of the MBTA which starts off at the airport. I was able to use all of the lines except the blue while I visited. Whenever I travel to the NE, I love taking public transportation. It seems crazy, but it's actually nice not to have to drive and worry about parking. You do that way too much in Texas. Boston's system is by no means perfect but I did enjoy it once I got the hang of it. I had to figure out that most of the tourist attractions along the green line were before it split off so you could jump on any. The redline makes visiting Harvard very easy, and the silver line, which is just a bus on a dedicated tunnel, brings you back and forth to the airport along with on this occasion our hotel on the waterfront. The city itself was not huge so each time it's only a few stops. The switch over is timed pretty well so we only had to wait 5-10 minutes at most and usually less than 3 between transfers. read more

This is one of the two major ways to get to Boston Logan International Airport via the MBTA (Also called the T by the locals) and it's rapid transit lines. The station serves the Blue Line Subway which can take you to Downtown Boston and connect you with the Green and Orange lines as well as up towards the North Shore to Wonderland Station in Revere. Airport Station also serves as of April 2018 the newest branch of the Silver Line Bus Rapid Transit network, the SL3 which goes from South Station via the Silver Line Underground busway and the Ted Williams Tunnel to Chelsea via the extremely active Chelsea St. Drawbridge (plan accordingly as when the bridge goes up it causes delays for everything) The SL3 also stops at Bellingham Square which connects with MBTA Commuter Rail originating from North Station. And as rail lines from North and South Stations are NOT connected the SL3 serves as useful solution to avoid a slow runaround in the downtown area if your changing trains from either terminal. Anyways, unlike the Silver Line SL1 which goes from South Station to all Airline Terminals the Silver Line SL3 only goes to Airport Station. Neither bus does vise versa. You must either pay the fare or use a transfer to board the SL3 bus unlike the SL1 which is FREE if you board from the Airline Terminals. Finally there are free 24 hour Massport Airport Shuttle buses which calls at the station & stop at all terminals as well as rental cars. But here's a secret. If you want to go directly to the terminals and not have to deal with the rental cars take bus 88, the economy parking bus. Most airport employees look for that bus but its not as frequent as other bus lines. In summary the station is useful always busy wheelchair accessible and fulfills it's purpose. What's there not to like. It also has an MBTA attendant usually around to answer questions. read more

This MBTA serves the airport (duh) and takes you under the harbor to the mainland of Boston. It's a bit of a pain that you've got to go get a shuttle to take you from the airport to the subway system. I don't know why they couldn't just dig that tunnel a little bit further to get to the airport terminal. But after a 10 minute bus ride, I was on the subway platform. A problem with this station is that people are often coming through here with luggage - it serves the airport. But to get onto the platforms, you need to take a bunch of stairs, no escalators were there when I went. Instead, I had to use a urine-soaked elevator to get down to the platform. This platform lacks any public art, and only has a small plaque glorifying the politicians who made this platform possible. They could also use more maps, MBTA seems to want to hide theirs for some reason. The platform was well lit, and there were security guards / police hanging around making sure everything was going smoothly for the commuters. read more

Are you kidding me. FREE and NEW buses straight from the airport to the ridiculously extensive Boston T transit subway system!?!!?!!?!? Driving through the airport like a pornstar, buses drop at the curb and cars get a separate load and unload zone across the street. Shows how transit focused the HUB really is. Good job Beantown. Watch what bus you get on from the station to BOS, some go to terminals A and B while others go to C and E. Ask your driver. Seriously, such nice buses! read more

I don't usually review mbta stations, but I am going to make an exception, because I was recently so pleasantly surprised. I live on the orange line and usually when going to Logan I take orange to red and then silver to my terminal. I always knew that there was a way to get to Logan from the blue line, but people talk so much smack about the poor blue line that I just believed it. Don't believe what you hear! Taking the orange to blue to Airport station and then the free shuttle over to Logan was a much smoother trip! You don't have to mess with riding the silver line on the highway. That in itself is worth it. But Airport Station seemed very clean and well laid out. I had no trouble at all figuring out where the terminal shuttle buses were, or which one to take. All hail the blue line (at least as far as this stop)! read more

It's on the blue line. The blue line is the most unfortunate line of all the MBTA lines. The only reason that more people hate the green line than the blue line is because not many people ever take the blue line consistently enough to realize how truly miserable it is. The king of terrible stations on the blue line is Maverick - I challenge anyone outside of an 18 year old kid to feel like he isn't going to get mugged. The queen, therefore, is the Airport T station, dressed up and dolled out in new shiny digs but full of hateful spite. I lived a few blocks from this station for six months and learned its mysterious ways. The positive: 1) Through the park, as you come up on the station, you can see the inbound trains approaching. If you feel like running, you can sometimes catch the train. 2) It's a very pretty station 3) The brand new parks on either side of the station are some of the best maintained parks in all of Boston and you can have a great time there. 4) You can learn about Amelia Earhart on the walls. 5) There are trains here that can take you away from Airport Station. The negative: 1) You're on the blue line 2) You live near the airport in a terrible neighborhood 3) This place is PACKED with tourists - just imagine it, everyone that's taking the T from the airport is either on this or the silver line. The trains fill up so quickly here due to the whole families getting off planes and all their bags 4) You have to cross some crazy-ass bridge to get to the non-airport side of the neighborhood if you just got off an outbound train here. 5) You're on the blue line I guess as I wrote this review I realized more that the Airport station itself isn't terrible, it's just the fact that you're on the blue line and in East Boston that's so terrible. Airport station is an overall well designed place that the MBTA actually should have spent money on and did successfully. read more

MBTA, Train your drivers before you hurt the passengers and have lawsuits! The MBTA airport blue line bus driver we had was terrible. He was parked for taking passengers. We entered at the front, brought our luggage up into the shuttle with no help from him, and we were starting to put our luggage onto the racks while he decides not to wait until we're done and press the gas starting to drive! We were falling! Very unsafe behavior on the drivers part. Wednesday, March 28, 7pm from blue line rental car shuttle from Boston. Starts driving when we didn't even put our luggage in our luggage rack. We were falling over. Not to mention doesn't help get our luggage onto or out of the bus. 2 stars instead of 1 star for apologizing when we got out and he saw how upset we were at him. What an awful welcome to Boston. This makes airport travel easy & cheap. Being a doc student, I'm broke & rolled through town for school related stuff (which of course the school only covers up to a certain point). I digress. You get a free bus to the airport from this stop & they have a bunch of monitors to tell you which bus to get on (different buses for different terminals/airlines). If you get confused, do fret. The bus drivers are super nice and won't steer you wrong. So just ask if it's the right bus. If you want to save some money on your trips in and out of Boston, use the T and the free blue bus line! read more

Complete joke at rush hour. Overcrowded busses, bus drivers taking off before people can get off at their terminals, at the mercy of tunnel traffic. If you are strapped for cash and can't afford a cab budget at least 2 hours to get here in rush hour. Boston officials should be ashamed. Why on the world would they not put luggage racks on an airport shuttle? Don't they have enough data to predict capacity needs? Good luck climbing over a sea of bags to get out the door before the bus driver ignores your pleas to keep the door open. read more

My family and I took the T from airport to Fenway Park. At the beginning of our journey we purchased a Charlie Card for $5 - the Charlie Card allows you to ride on the T for $1.70 per ride. After the Red Sox game was over we were going back to our hotel and entered at the Kenmore Station where we were told that our Charlie Card only had $1.60 left on it. Since we had only ridden once to get to the game there should have been $3.30 left on the card. So we were told to throw $2 into a bucket and allowed through the gate. When we got to the Airport station we told the agent what happened and he said there was nothing he could do. The next day we were going into Boston and approached a new agent, Hank Johnson. I have to say, Hank was the best, he went out of his way to take care of my sister and my problem where the Kenmore station deleated the $1.70, but didn't let us through the gate. So often people voice their complaints, but in this case I want to give an "atta boy" to Hank! Not only was Hank polite and friendly, but he went the extra mile in his quest to give the utmost customer service. Again, Thanks Hank! read more
