I used Coach run to get from NYC to DC. This was my first time so finding the pickup point took a little longer than expected but no complaints! Solid ride for the price. They changed the drop point a couple of days before departure but they emailed and called to make sure I got the proper info which I appreciated. The cabin was a bit cold. I travelled with my family of 5 from Boston to New York and back again. Driver was speeding up and down the highway to the point that the bus was jumping up and down and was watching TikTok live as he was speeding. I have never been in a bus flying down the highway so fast. Bus was filthy and looked like it dated back to the 80s. On our way back to Boston the driver suddenly pulled over on the highway and abandoned us while we were all left befuddled Over what was occurring. It turned out that the driver had to top the bus up with coolant but it took 7 blocked off the bus to figure that out as the driver was unable to communicate what the problem was as he spoke no English. I understand this is a budget bus service which is why we chose it because it was affordable but you don't expect this poor of a service even for a budget bus line. read more

We booked a trip from New York to Boston on August 17th at 5 PM, but the bus conditions were terrible. The air conditioning wasn't working, it was only blowing air, and the bus was making a lot of noise as if parts were loose. There was also a passenger who asked the driver to board, but he shut the door in her face. He was polite with the others, but with her he was rude. It was a horrible experience. On top of that, the website seems fake, because you can't even post reviews easily. read more

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this bus company unless you are a glutton for punishment. Had I known this was the "new" run down Chinatown chicken bus, I would've taken another company. It wasn't until it was too late to notice where the photo says its location is with a drawing that reads "across from seafood and oyster bar". Umm a name would be good. (NOTE: There is NO 3312 Dalton Street); it is on the side of the Sheraton). I was running a little late and as the directions say, "call if you're running late", which I did. I knew right away when I called and it was an automatic recording, with bad grammar, saying it's quicker to email. Luckily, after 20 rings someone answered. They barely spoke English and tried giving me the same directions as the photo (drawing whatever it is). The person on the phone wanted me to call the driver! My poor cab driver. He was kind enough to let the driver know I was on my way and the person kept saying they were leaving. Of course the driver couldn't find my reservation and I had to repeat it like 3x. The bus is packed with broken seats, and lord knows what diseases and prison escapees are on here. I wanted to sit up front and the driver was very rude and yelled "NO! NO! Plenty of seats back there" (where I'm currently writing this review from). The seats are absolutely horrendous. The whole bus is horrendous. Filthy, dirty, gross and if there's ever a time I've wanted a Karen Silkwood shower it's now! All you can smell is urine. It's obvious they don't clean these buses. No WiFi or plugs either. Their schedule has nothing to do with what time you actually arrive. We were schedulEd to arrive in Raleigh, NC at 5:30 am from NYC. Actual arrival time was 7:30am. Even their app doesn't know the correct time. Driver of no help and doesn't speak much English. It's dirt cheap transport but do NOT count on the arrival time. I dont recommend traveling with them. We had our Boston to NY bus at 9.45am on 22nd dec 2023. The bus left at 10.26 am. From 9.20am we were standing right in front of Sheraton in cold weather of -6 deg cel. The drivers of the busses are super rude, yelling at the crowd that is waiting for 45 minutes in cold. The bus is way smaller than the bus that was scheduled for 10 am, and for Albany, with no restroom is the bus. Horrible service. There is no handrest between two seats. So it is very awkward for two unknown people to sit together. Our legs and hands were frozen in the cold. The customer service had no clue that the driver slept and the bus left almost after 45 minutes. My friend had to walk up to this mini bus to check in case it is our 9.45 am bus disturbing the sleep of the driver. The driver didn't scan our tickets, and then we received an email saying, "Sorry dear, we don't see you on the bus." we will never travel in CoachRun again for sure read more

Was hoping for a quick getaway for the long weekend. I found Coach Run on a 3rd party site, wanderu.com, as I was planning for my trip to NYC. I thought it was a great idea to find a bus that picked up in Quincy, 10 minutes from where I live. The ticket price was comparable to other bus tickets at other pick up spots. As I got on the bus, I shortly found out that this bus made a stop in Chinatown to pick up a bunch of other passengers, which took another 15-30 minutes. When I puchased the ticket, it said Quincy to NY Chinatown and nowhere on the ticket did it specify that I will make multiple stops. Before I reached my destination in NY, it also made a couple stop including Astoria, NY. Other cons about this bus is that it was kind of run down and dirty. Don't have high expectations for this company. It might be somewhat convenient departing from Quincy, but expect to make multiple stops before reaching Manhattan, NY. read more

If I could give this company 0 starts I would. I'm currently on a DC/NY trip and this has been by far, the longest bus ride I've ever taken. I've taken bolt bus and mega bus and I'm regret not taking any of the two. We were supposed to arrive at 11:30 AM and it is now currently 12:30 PM, with still 40 more minuets left. We left DC at 7:30 AM. 7:30!! Traffic isn't to blame. The route is to blame as well as the unnecessary stop at one random mall in New Jersey. I've ridden on the Coach Run bus three times, once from Boston to New York and twice from New York to Boston. I certainly plan on using this company again. There are a few things to keep in mind that may cause you to want to look into different bus companies. First, you won't find things like toilet paper in the bus bathroom, and you can't count on the WiFi to be working. Also, they have now added a pickup in Queens in addition to the one in Manhattan, so if you're going from Manhattan to Boston, it will probably take longer to get out of the city than if you chose a bus company that only has one pickup location. While there are a few downsides, I really can't complain about them because of the price. Sure, if you book in advance, you can get tickets on Greyhound/Peter Pan/Megabus/Bolt for pretty cheap. But booking far in advance isn't always possible. And aside from the luxury of having toilet paper in the bathroom (which I try not to have to use anyway), I'm not sure if any of the companies are much better - they all get traffic delays, and which one has the most convenient drop-off locations depends on where you're trying to get. If you find that the rest of the companies' ticket prices have gone up to $40 each way for your dates, and if that doesn't quite fit your budget, Coach Run probably still has them for $20 or less. read more

Took a trip from Vegas to L.A. Depart 225 pm arrive 740 pm. Cost $14 total. $10 for the ticket, $2 for the processing fee, $2 bus driver tip. Charging the bus driver's tip up front was odd, but the schedule fit my schedule, so wasn't expecting much for the price. Supposedly, wifi and usb charging stations on the bus, but none were available. Bus was 12 minutes late, and we made 2 drop in Rowland Heights and whittier. All in all, seats were comfortable and depite being 12 minutes late, made it to Union Station at 7:40 pm on the dot (that's including a 30 min stretch break) saved an important meeting. All is forgiven. That was one heck of a driver. Kudos to the driver. read more

This is the worst bus that I have ever taken. If you are going to advertise that a trip from New York to Boston will take approximately 5 hours, you should stay on schedule (within a few minutes of course). We were an HOUR late to our destination, making the trip a whopping 6 hours. Many people were agitated and complaining about the confusing route choice and slow pace. We also made an unprompted stop, that was not mentioned in the ticket purchase, making the trip extend for an extra 15 minutes on top of the 6 hours. Christmas ride So, today I booked a bus ride from Miami to Orlando, christmas day. I didn't want to leave but I had to because I work in the morning. My family is still in miami enjoying their holiday. As they should. First off, I pulled up to 500 Gulf Stream Way in Fort lauderdale and the bus was getting ready to pull out from the station earlier than its expected 12:15 time. Now, I board the bus and there's no more seats. Or so I thought, the driver said wait let me check your name, he checked me off and I was cleared to go. He began to walk to the back to get a crate and a pillow. He told an elder woman to come out her seat and he gave her a pillow. She sat down near the steps by the door on the pillow and the other lady took the crate and sat in the middle of the aisle. So I sat down and prepared for this Long trip to orlando. The kid I sat next to was driver's kid. He/she kept saying daddy! Daddy! for the whole ride the kid stared at me and I was very uncomfortable. I began to fall asleep as I opened my eyes I noticed that the bus started shifting in and out of the lane so I began watching the driver through the rear view. His eyes were closed a few times and each time he opened them he swerved. Needless to say my nerves were on edge the whole time. I kept watching him and he noticed. He then reaches over and puts on his seatbelt (I didn't even realize his seat-belt was off). I will never travel with your service again. This was the worst and on Christmas at that. 25 minutes late leaving BOSTON Chinatown headed to JFK airport. Bus driver forbids anyone to sit in 2 front seats - apparently because one is for his backpack (understandably) the other for a pair of his gloves. I took 2nd row with NO knee room! 20 minutes after departure I'm awakened from a deep sleep by a loud voice- the driver is on a hands-free phone call basically shouting Chinese. This call goes on for 20 minutes until a lady goes up to him and says she does not feel safe with him on the phone while driving- and asks him to keep his voice volume down. The scheduled arrival in Long Island City is 11:00 am to change busses. It is now 11:00 and my GPS says arrival at 12:14. We very well may miss our connecting bus to JFK!! Bottom line - avoid Coach Run bus line. Not worth the discomfort and frustration. Never again!! read more

I've been taking Coach Run Bus for awhile now. Their buses are a bit old but for how much they charge, there's really not much to complain about. Normally, I'd give them 3.5 stars but changed it to 1 star because: a) what was suppose to be a 15 minute bus stop turned into a 45 minute ordeal simply because our driver (to NY) was waiting for the other driver (to Boston) to arrive so that he could switch buses and head back to Boston. As a result, the bus arrived 1.5 hours late. b) when I mentioned this to the company, not only did they not apologize and take proactive steps to prevent this from happening again, but they also completely ignored my concerns while telling me...see (c). c) the company sent me an email less than a day before my return date to tell me that all buses that day would be cancelled. However, 12 hours after I received their email, I noticed that those very same dates/times were *still* being advertised for sale on their website. This just goes to show how reliable they are and how much they care about their customers. TL;DR: If you need to be somewhere important on a certain date/time, do not use Coach Run Bus. If you don't mind being delayed for no reason and aren't set on a particular date, then using this company can save you some money. read more

I had to book another ticket with different company at higher price( same day booking) just to get to my destination. Afterwars, I called for refund, but company keep telling me that bus was on time ( definitely not true) and I never got refund. SO, I would suggest to other people, don't book this company, if you value you time and money. Of course, you might get lucky and bus would arrive and may be on time, but I rather not taking a chances with coach run anymore. Very uncommunicative. Bus was an hour and fifteen minutes late and they refuse to acknowledge that it was late at all. They left about 40 customers stranded for over an hour with no communication about what was going on. When I tried to call to find out what was going on I was left on hold for 55 minutes just to be told to send an email. We booked a bus through Coach Run from Los Angeles to Las Vegas two months in advance for our overseas holiday. A month before we received an email telling us our departure time had changed to 7am. I contacted Coach Run to confirm the change and confirm the departure location and everything was fine. The day of we woke up at 5am to catch our 7am bus from LA. The bus departed opposite a church near Skid Row in LA with lots of homeless people sleeping. We arrived at the departure location at 6:20am and waited for an hour and no bus arrived. We contacted Coach Run and they advised us that we had missed the bus because it had left the departure location on time. I can assure you that no bus showed up during this time. Coach Run then advised they had no other buses that day and we would have to wait until tomorrow and could not get a refund. We then had to scramble to find another bus and pay for tickets again so that we could make it Las Vegas on time. DO NOT USE COACH RUN. Their buses don't show up and they will not refund you the money. read more

With that, I know to have lower expectations but I'll remember never to take this bus company in the future. The bus scheduled to arrive at 7:45am did not arrive until 9:45am due to "traffic." The bus left for the second Chinatown stop and then went back to the first stop to pick up more people. Because of this, we didn't officially leave until 10:35am, almost 3 hours after scheduled arrival. There was no explanation, no sense of urgency, no apology. This company has no soul. I'm currently writing this review on a Coach Run bus from Boston to New York that REEKS of sewage. The bathroom reeks of body odor and is disgusting. The AC does not work, and there is trash all over the floor -- soda bottles, candy wrappers, you name it--they were strewn all over the seats when we first boarded, so I guess their cleaning policy is that new passengers do the clean up. But it's the combination of sewage and zero air flow that is ultimately intolerable. I paid over $30 for this ticket due to the holiday weekend. While that's on me for booking it last minute, i still wouldn't recommend giving any of your money to this company. I will not be using them again. read more

I don't even want to give them 1 Star. Bought a bus ticket from Boston the JFK a few days ago. I finally get the ticket in my email - the day before my trip - and it says there's a transfer, which I don't remember seeing. So I go back to the website, find the bus route, and click every possible thing you can click to see if they denote a transfer on the information (they don't - see pictures). So I call CoachRun. I knew I'd be on hold for a while but I didn't really care because that's pretty standard. I explain the that I'm a little frustrated because it doesn't say there's a transfer in the website and that I'd like a refund. The customer service rep checks it out and tells me that it does - in the checkout - and ONLY at checkout, so you have to put it in your cart, and even then there is nothing about where the transfer is, how long it is, etc. You can see it in the pictures - it's small on my phone so I expanded it for you. So I told him that nowhere else was it indicated - it's not even listed on the route at checkout or anywhere else during the process. Frankly, they should tell you when and where a transfer takes place. I tell him I would like a refund anyway (let's be honest it's super deceptive). He wouldn't give me any because "it says there's a transfer" right at check out. I'll be honest, I cussed him out and I really don't care because (1) his tone was patronizing (2) it's 730AM the day before my trip, stress levels are high now because (3) I have to figure out a new route home now. 1 Star because (a) this really is deceptive and the website not helpful if this is how they manage things (b) customer service guy was unhelpful and not even trying to care. Even more importantly: the transfer location is only 45 minutes from the destination! The second, 45 minute bus ride somehow costs MORE than the 4 hour bus ride from Boston to NY, which makes the fact that they DON'T put in the transfer location at checkout or anywhere else when you're pursuing the ride even more disgusting. Had I known about the transfer and where it was, I would have simply taking a much cheaper bus ride to Long Island City(the transfer location - see 5th pic). I am going to have to give a pretty good rating based on value and timeliness of my round trip N.Quincy, MA to NYC this past weekend. $40 round trip was a great deal and the convenience for me to not have to go into Boston to catch a NYC bus was two thumbs up. I was able to park at the N.Quincy T-Stop for 3 days for $11. The bus seats are definitely on the narrow side, but they are fine enough. I didn't use the bathroom, but both busses did have one on board, and on my return trip, we did stop at a BK in CT to stretch/bathroom stop. There were overhead USB cords for phone charging, and the drivers were both good drivers despite gross, rainy weather on both trips. I would say make sure you are on time, as my bus left N.Quincy at 6:26 and departure time was 6:30. Would definitely recommend for a solid budget bus option to NYC. read more

The worst part was that the driver did not even attempt to inform us, and we were left wondering why we were stuck at a random gas station with the bus driver nowhere in sight. It is tempting to book this bus service because of how cheap it is when you compare to Megabus, Greyhound, etc. but I would definitely advise paying the extra few bucks for a more reliable company. read more

Was taking the bus at 11:00 a.m from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Arrived at the bus stop before 11:00 and after 11 I called Coach Run to see the status of the bus. The representative said that she could call to find out where the bus was since I told her 2 different people were also waiting there and one of them was waiting since 10. By the time the lady got back to me it was already 11:45 and she said that the bus was leaving the last stop in Vegas. I asked her if she could have the bus wait since there were so many of us waiting and I needed to get home because my dad was in the emergency room in LA and she said no. If she had gotten back to me sooner we could have all driven to the last stop but instead had to wait 3 hours for the next bus and the other lady that was waiting hardly spoke English and I had her call Coach Run so they could change her ticket and no one answered for over an hour. The driver of the 1:00 bus wouldn't even listen to our story and charged her another $20 just to ride again. She really had to go to LA to catch her flight back to Thailand. The representative said the driver saw no one there but if he was there how could he have missed all 3 of us there. No way! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! read more
