    Wine flight and live music
    Toshi I.

Located between Tin Roof and Susie's cupcakes. I had a lovely time with a friend enjoying live music and drinking wine on a school night (Thursday) amidst a busy shopping area. Knowing there was no dinner served here, I called ahead of time to ask what I could bring in to enjoy with a wine flight. Just no meat, cheese or olives i was told. Fair enough. We brought our own hummus, crackers and fruit. (Darn it Susie's Cupcakes wasn't open for another sweet treat.) I loved my international wine flight choice and will be back again to try the other wine flights and the live music. The service is friendly and welcoming. No pressure or up sell. They were totally chill this night. Covered parking across the way.

Omg what can I say about this place that hasn't been said before? Cutest little hidden gem for sure. Nice intimate tasting room with room for socializing. Loved the flights at such an affordable price and we got the yummy charcuterie board, and who can shy away from live entertainment! The best. Service was amazing and parking was convenient. I'm almost afraid to give such a good rating because I don't want this place to get too much attention ha ha! Loved it!!

We recently held our daughter's engagement party on their lovely patio. Ray (owner) was wonderful. And so was the wine! We joined their wine club so we can test their new discoveries every month. P.S. If you don't know what you want to try, ask Ray!

They'll open and pour wines from their store.

It's Friday night and Happy Hour is calling my name, but I've had no time to plan or make a reservation-- where do I go? MBwine! It's a no-brainer, except trying to park in the busy Manhattan Beach Mall (but we have an electric car so we often nab a spot in a EV only spaces). We stroll in, are greeted by friendly, knowledgeable hosts, and the hardest part is deciding what to drink. They have many options: you can do flights of 4 varietals (white, red, etc.) or buy a bottle and uncork it right there. Easy peasy. The bonus is they have some treats, including, cheese, meats, olives. Our party of four tried two intriguing red blends and relaxed with a charcuterie plate that was very satisfying. Their eclectic variety of wines ensures all types of drinkers will be pleased, with some popular labels mixed in with some unique ones-- and from many regions around the world.

Has a hint of sweetness to this bottle

Enjoyed a night out at MBwine. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Live music on Saturday nights. Great place to unwind and enjoy some wine!

This is my second time coming here. Love this place. I like that it's a low key casual spot. The first time I came was a little busier cause it was in the evening and they had live music. This time was nice and empty as we came at opening time. I really enjoyed the refreshing rose wines. The staff members are always so nice and helpful. You can also choose a cheese and a meat ($15 each) and they put it on a charcuterie plate for you with crackers and chips- love it! Will be back again soon!

Such a cozy wine bar! We had good service and an excellent flight of wines. We will definitely be returning.

I love this little wine bar! I got a wine flight for $25 and my husband got a glass of pinot noir for $16. They have a beautiful outdoor patio right next door to Tin Roof with heat lamps. Wonderful for date night and they're dog friendly. We'll definitely be back :)

Bliss Chardonnay and some type of sharp cheese I don't remember.

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

I really wanted to love this place. I read all the glowing…read morereviews and convinced myself the negative ones were probably just misunderstandings... but wow, I had it completely backwards. First, the restaurant itself is undeniably cute and cozy, tucked away in a corner of Hermosa Beach. Our first impression was honestly great, and we were excited to try it. Our reservation was at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived, the staff was still inside having what looked like a team huddle or group therapy session well past opening time. At first I thought maybe I got the hours wrong and they actually opened at 5:30. Nope -- 5:00 was correct. I understand pre-shift meetings happen. But maybe do the motivational speech at 4:50 instead of making customers stand outside after your posted opening time? They finally opened the doors around 5:10. Once seated, our server introduced himself by saying he was also one of the chefs, and apparently everyone dressed in white both cooks and serves. I didn't really understand the concept, but honestly, I don't care who brings the food as long as the food is good. These are what we ordered: SQUID -- This tasted like it had been marinated directly in seawater. Painfully salty. I genuinely did not understand the dish at all. Boiled squid with egg salad? Why? The portion was tiny, and we were hungry, so we basically used the mussels tart to dilute the salt enough to finish it. MUSSELS TART -- Actually delicious. No complaints here. BISTRO SALAD -- This was honestly shocking. It was SO sour that it was practically inedible. -- we literally take straight lemon shots every morning but this dish was hard to eat. This wasn't "bright acidity." This was weaponized vinegar. Bitter, aggressively sour, and tongue-numbing after one bite. We had to send it back because it was simply not edible. CABBAGE -- Flavor was good overall, but parts of it were so burnt that I genuinely questioned whether it was intentional or someone forgot it existed in the kitchen. Maybe it's culinary art I'm too uncultured to understand. FISH DIANE -- Delicious. No complaints at all. What ultimately made us decide we won't return wasn't even the inconsistent food -- it was the attitude. They still charged us for the salad we literally could not eat after sending it back. Then the couple next to us asked to keep one menu because they planned to order more later. One of the servers told them not to leave it on the table because she didn't want the menu to get dirty. The menu was a single flimsy printed paper menu. Not leather-bound. Not handmade parchment from the 1700s. Just printer paper. The whole experience felt oddly pretentious for a place serving burnt cabbage and acid salad. Some dishes were genuinely good, but the hospitality felt nonexistent and the food was wildly inconsistent. Cute restaurant, but definitely not somewhere we'd return to.

Didn't have a preference so I went with his recommendations or suggestions and allowed him to choose lol. The individuals who were there last night were mostly locals. Had the pleasure of meeting an older couple (Erin and Conrad Stanley) in which I ended up giving my last flight to them while we had an awesome conversation lol. Everyone was friendly and real cool. Not making me feel out of place nor uncomfortable. I also met another couple after they left. I went to the restroom, came back and a couple was standing near my table. So into his conversation, dude sat down then apologized for sitting at my table and I told him it's all good haha. Next thing you know we're all laughing and conversing haha. I really enjoyed my 3 hrs here. I had a great experience. Took a cross word puzzle for my entertainment and ended up meeting some new wonderful people instead. I will definitely be back. The husband was doing his part also, entertaining at the bar lol and providing whatever services needed. I love it... They do their best to provide professional and friendly service. I have no complaints whatsoever. I was even told they allow dogs. Big win !!! lol

The ocean views are absolutely beautiful, the bar area has a great energy, the staff was friendly and attentive, and there's clearly a strong local regular crowd that gives the place life and personality. The atmosphere honestly carries a lot of the experience here. Food-wise though, I have mixed feelings considering the pricing. The menu is definitely charging premium Manhattan Beach/oceanfront prices, but most of the food itself felt pretty average. The breakfast potatoes were especially mid and lacked seasoning or anything memorable. My wife didn't enjoy the pork belly benedict much, although she did really like the salmon benedict. On the other hand, the bluefin tuna tostada was magnificent and easily one of the standout dishes we had. The fries situation was fascinating to me. They're $15, but to be fair they give you an absurd amount of fries -- basically an entire fry boat. They also serve them with house-made ketchup and aioli, which sounds great... except they give you about a thimble worth of sauce. I started noticing almost every other table with fries had huge piles left over and completely ran out of sauce early on. At that point it almost feels intentional because there's no way the restaurant hasn't noticed this pattern already. Overall, this is the kind of place where you go for the scenery, people watching, drinks, atmosphere, and social experience more than for mind-blowing food. If you approach it that way, it's a really enjoyable spot.
