I didn't know that bar food could be so good! I ordered the carnitas tacos, chicken tacos and Brussels sprouts. Excellent! The Brussels sprouts were delicious/ pomegranates and chickpeas, crunchy! The carnitas tacos were divine. Service - prompt.

I was there a few weeks ago to watch Dodgers WS game 7. Actually it has been a few years since my previous visit, but was glad I went back, The ambiance was great, good food (loved the buffalo wings!), friendly service, etc. It definitely was the right place to watch the game!

Great ambiance, delicious food, friendly service close to Hermosa Beach Fruit punch spirtzner is always our favorite. Apple cider is good too. I love their seasonal menus. Jumbo scallops and creamed spinach was delicate and fresh. Bacon burger was massive and perfect! Korean tacos had a good punch with gochujang baed sauce. The sauce was a bit too strong to enjoy meat but overall it went really well. Kids menu was good. Generous portions. Thought the kids may be able to play with games but we sat outside so pivoted to our coloring and other tools we brought from home. The only wish is to have a large umbrella for the long patio table. They have umbrellas to small stool tables. Most of the time it was covered by the tree but it would be nicer if they have an umbrella.

I end up on Hermosa Beach for work from time to time and always enjoy grabbing a bite to eat and a local beer. I've met some of the most interesting people here and the staff is always helpful in selecting a brew.

Great experience with both indoor and outdoor seating available! The bartender was very kind and offered me tastings since I did not know what to get. He offered something similar to what I normally order which turned out wonderful. I tried the South Bay Lager and it was crisp and refreshing. The brewery has a relaxing vibe and is a fun place to hang out with friends. Bonus, one block from the strand.

Came in on a Tuesday evening for a party of 2 and got seated right away. It's a smaller place inside, not many tables. Looks like they take reservations too. Friendly staff, checked on us multiple times. Solid beer choices and food was tasty! Would definitely go back. Burger was a little greasy, Nashville chicken wasn't really (spicy) hot and had lots of breading. Carnitas fries were fantastic. Several other items looked good on the menu which I would try in the future. Nice spot ratepayer away from the beach!

Fried chicken sandwhich with fries . AMAZING. A MUST GET for fried chicken lovers

WOW, THE FRIED CHICKEN here (& hazy IPA) was absolutely delicious. Out of this world. While I get this a a brewery, this could totally be a fried chicken shop and it'd still make a great hit. Now pair that with great beer as well, wowzers!!! The fried chicken was perfectly crisped (southern style) with such a juicy generous delectable portion of Cole slaw without being too mayo or "thin wet mayo forward." The breading itself was greatly seasoned and flavored with a savory umami herb blend. The spice had a kick to it without being too over powering. If I had to pick a part one weakness is that it was slightly too salty and paired with that spicy kick it was sometimes a harsh bite. However the coleslaw and golden brown bun was a perfect compliment that brought this harsh bite back to a delicious balanced fried chicken sando. Size wise this was such a generous portion and it came with your choice of fried, tater tots...etc. The fries were well seasoned with salt and pepper. A little soggier like McDonald's fries but because of its seasoning it was still yummy but just nothing to write home about. The hazy IPA here was actually better than Vista's hazy IPA. However if you're not bar hopping and doing a direct side by side comparison it would hard to tell the difference. Now onto the less desirables: * service wise, the staff was friendly but was very curt * our chicken sando took 27 minutes to come out. Luckily we were sipping on beers but man that's a long time. My bf ordered & finished 2 beers before it came out. By the time it came out we had to eventually ask for it to go and eat the rest in the car. * the seats here are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat in. Hard to get comfy. They're metal bar stools with a very small lower back meaning the metal back rest of the stool jabs into your back if you ever lean back. The seat itself is hard and relatively small so it's hard to reposition and get comfy. * COLD. They have the AC blowing horizontally & directly at the tables so it's a straight blast of cold AC to you. In a perpendicular angle is the open door which by the beach, causes a huge draft as well so even in mid day March, there's this uncomfortable indoor cold draft blowing at you. * 2 TVS that are muted * 2 bathrooms for customers - relatively clean For the food and drinks id prefer here as opposed to Vista. However it's so hard to get comfy here so it's hard to do multiple rounds. It's more like do one and bar hop elsewhere Meter Street parking for 2 hrs

It was our first time eating here even though we have lived close for years and have stoped for beers. It was stupid good. We got the avgolemono soup that was on the special board, the jumbo wings, and short rib Korean tacos. All had insane good flavor and Veronica was such a down to earth server with great beer recommendations. The chef has new specials on rotation all of the time highly recommend.

A neighborhood staple. Good beer, good service. That alone would keep us coming back, but even better, they have incredible food. We usually mix it up and try something off their list of specials. We've had amazing ceviche here. Their wings are also amazing. The food is way better than the typical stuff around the pier. Enough about the food, the beer is really good too. When we have friends in town visiting we always get a flight so they can find their favorite. Mine is the Get Busy Living (red ale). They have a really good variety. Lots of breweries lean IPA heavy, but Hermosa Brewing has a lot more than lagers and IPAs. There's usually a cider too for the gluten free folks. Cheers!

    The yummy and fluffy pretzel!

On Monday evening, my son and I ordered a bacon, cheese burger but did not want to sit so we ordered it to go since we did not want to miss sunset. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the staff that work there for their kindness, friendliness, and generosity. A gentleman asked my son if he's ever had their famous pretzel to which my son replied no. It was our first time there. They all seemed to enjoy talking to my son; he's 8yo and has ADHD so he can't really sit still. Anyway, I just felt so blessed being around people so kind. The gentleman (he told my son he was 47yo -that's all I remember of him) surprised my son with a free pretzel, and my son was full of genuine joy! It was such a beautiful moment to see his reaction! Thank you for your kindness! That pretzel was really yummy! And my son LOVED his burger!

Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!
