We came here to watch the USA game and were immediately put off by the service. Before we had even ordered anything, our server approached us and informed us of a $300 minimum spend requirement in a remarkably condescending manner. What made the interaction particularly off-putting was that it felt as though she had already decided we weren't the type of customers who would spend that kind of money. Rather than explaining the policy professionally, the delivery came across as dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational. The issue wasn't just the policy--it was the way it was communicated. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. And frankly, a $300 minimum is absurd for a bar of this caliber. This isn't a premium venue, luxury lounge, or exclusive event space. Expecting customers to spend that much just to watch a game is completely out of touch with what the establishment offers. There are far better places to watch sports where you're treated with respect and don't feel pressured into spending hundreds of dollars the moment you walk in. read more

I don't want to be too harsh because Molly's has been a Hermosa staple for so long--but I think they need a visit from Gordon Ramsay again. The kitchen is definitely using frozen Costco patties for the burgers and the service feels underwhelming like they needed help for the day and they asked their friends to come serve. The busser was the most courteous and attentive of the staff. (12-2pm on 6/12/2026) They thrive on nightlife and that's a lot of fun for 20-something's. Today's visit reminds me why I don't often eat here. If you're here from out of the country on holiday and wanna party this is a good first stop. read more

This service at this restaurant as always been relevant to me as I've been a local my entire life. Jeff helped of two of my gf's in the past and we came in tonight and he was absolutely astonishing with his help and the service he gave to us. He made our shots that we asked for at the perfect amount and was on top of it with his attitude and service extremely professional and kind to me and my girlfriends. We got here at 9:30pm and we immediately sat ourselves, outside, no waiter to sit us, no host, and at that, we walked into the place to get 3 shots of expensive tequila, paid upfront, spent $40 for 3 shots and even after we paid, no waiters came and now it's 10pm and no one has came to ask us 3 ppl if we want any food or anything so for that, I give a 1 star experience. The fire is nice tho! NOW after being here, now at 10:39pm, a server (the manager) came outside to ask us if we wanted anything after we went inside to say something and we definitely ordered another shot and chips and salsa for $20 additional and the manager seemed stressed but he explained how the kitchen was closed! But he can get us chips and salsa! Otherwise they need signs outside letting ppl know about the misunderstanding they are giving cuz no one knows this unless they ask! It's a bit confusing but it's not the business owners fault who replied I'm sure it's just the overall establishment that may not know how some ppl feel walking into this place after hours. First time here and it was a good experience. We ordered a few drinks to start and a couple items from the menu. The Chorizo Pizza was really good (flavors were definitely there). Just a side note: be sure to order it well done because the middle was a slightly soggy due to the grease from the chorizo. Otherwise, dig in! We also ordered the Clam Chowder in the sourdough bowl. Let me just say(!) this is a MUST HAVE. Talk about deliciosos?! Oh my, OH my, OH MY! Whenever I return to this place, I will definitely order one for dine-in and another to go! Our bartender was attentive as well so we appreciated that. Granted, it was a Thursday around 3/330 so they maybe had 7-8 people at the bar and the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. Overall, this place gets four stars. The price of the drinks (an Irish coffee was $16(!!!)) was my reason for removing a star. We ordered four of these without knowing the price so we were shocked by the bill (on top of the other drinks we ordered). Either way, we will be returning. Irish pub with live music on the Pier. They had 2 for 1 wings on Wednesdays so a couple of friends and I came here after Hermosa Run Club for a bite. There was a guitarist outside and the outside seating has heating. This place is close to a lot of other bars so on weekends, the place can become very lively. On that particular weeknight, it was chill and a good spot to simply hang out. It was also half off pizzas that night. Though the salmon flatbread is listed underneath the pizzas, note that the discount doesn't apply to it. Credit cards accepted. They have happy hour deals on most nights. read more

Pizza: 2.5. Came by on a Thursday looking for drinks and food and saw that this place had All Day drink and food specials on Thursdays. Sat at the bar and ordered a $7 draft stein (bartender said their steins hold 22 oz) and later a 1/2 price pepperoni pizza. Pizza was a little delayed in coming. I was hungry but, unfortunately, I've had better cheap frozen pizza. Cheese was baked into the crust and was not gooey at all. The crust was hard and flavorless. If it was good, I would've eaten it all right there. Service was very good. The bartender was efficient and always seemed to be smiling. The ambiance is comfortable. Stopped here around 10-ish on a Friday night with a friend, and ordered one drink on the patio, only to be abruptly informed by our waitress that it was "last call." Unsure why this was happening--maybe some serving restriction on the patio? We closed our check, yet couldn't help noticing that those who arrived after us were still being served after this supposed closing time. It quickly became apparent that "last call" was merely a signal of our waitress' departure--not the bar's. Deciding to give the bar another chance after my first watery, wee-sized drink, I ordered an Irish coffee, what should have been a foolproof choice at an Irish pub on a chilly evening. Unfortunately, what I received could only be described as a disappointment--served in a glass so small it barely qualified as a shot. A tip if you go here: limit your drink order to wine or beer. This place is the best spot on the pier in Hermosa. The food is top notch ( shepherds pie and clam chowder get a big shout out from me), drinks are great ( especially that famous frozen Irish coffee) and the vibes are excellent. Last time I was in there, the bartender Sean was fantastic. Attentive and friendly. Honestly, Patrick Molloys is my first stop every time I'm in Hermosa. I remember I visited this restaurant one time a year ago in the summer of 22', then I decided to come back recently in the summer of 23'. The first time I came, I was seated outside, and I really enjoy the outdoor seating because I can look at everything going on in the boardwalk. The atmosphere is pretty calm overall. I ended up ordering the Cali Burger w/ fries. The burger was really tasty, it had a lot of flavor to it. The fries were also pretty decent too. You can't go wrong with ordering that. (4.5/5) I have more memory on my most recent trip to Patrick Molloy's. I ended up sitting outside again. My waitress was very sociable and friendly. She made me feel welcome. After a few minutes of deciding what I wanted to order, I ended up getting the Philly Cheesesteak w/ tater tots (since I had fries the previous time). I was only a tad bit upset because this order wasn't as tasty as the Cali Burger and fries. The cheesesteak was alright, but I feel like it was overall dry. Not overwhelming dry, but not juicy. I found the tater tots to be a little bit better than the cheesesteak because they had more flavor. Even though the tater tots were good, the fries are better, certainly. (3.5/5) With this restaurant, I would recommend that you check this place out if you ever have the chance. I would recommend my Cali Burger order; I wouldn't recommend the Philly Cheesesteak order. I'm sure this restaurant has plenty of other good-tasting items on their menu. The service is good; the seating is good. I only visit the boardwalk in Hermosa Beach during the summer so I probably won't be back until the summer of 24', so in the meantime, I hope my words helped! read more

This was my first time at Patrick Molloy's on this beautiful sunny day in Hermosa Beach. We got to sit anywhere, so we sat outside. There were plenty of umbrellas to shield us from being baked. The menu has plentiful choices, I had a no carb, no sugar Anne's Cucumber Ginger Cider, the poutine with battered fries (you can also have them with tater tots), we also got the fish and chips. The food was delicious and generously portioned, and our waiter was very nice. You may be wondering why only three stars. I shall explain... We were sitting towards the inside, on the other side of a wooden bench seating and tables. Some women with two dogs were sitting on this bench, behind my friend. One dog stayed on the ground, however, the woman sitting on the bench brought her large dog, I think it was a labrador, onto the bench beside her. Their waiter was fully encouraging it, playing with the dog, and clearly flirting with the women. As dogs will do, he shook himself excitedly, causing all his hair and dander to float directly into my friend's food. I could see it shining in the sunlight. I quickly shielded my dish with a napkin, but it was too late for my friend's. My friend was repulsed by this and ended up having to leave behind his fish and chips, he had only eaten half. We HATE wasting food, especially at $19. I asked our waiter to ask the woman to put her dog on the ground and she begrudgingly did, saying "Well, they could have just asked and I would have taken care of it". I said "Well, it's just common sense." She snidely replied "Oh, common sense, common sense!" She was just another entitled idiot in need of attention. As much as I loved the food, service, and ambiance, I think dogs should be kept on the ground. Nothing against dogs, it's the owners that suck. Maybe give them some water, but for sanitary reasons, keep them on the ground, because I doubt people want to eat dog hair and feces. read more
