Come Monday, Air Care was a no show, no call by 11:30. I called them and talked to Josh. He apologized and said their system didn't let them know I had an appointment. I knew I was texting with AI up to that point, so I accepted his apology. He told me they would have someone out between noon and 2. The technician showed up 20 minutes later and had the bad capacitor replaced and the spring service done in 20 minutes. Air Care came through in the end and got out A/C working again. My wife and I appreciated that and would hire them again.

Brandy came out, same day, 7:30pm, took her time, and carefully evaluated everything. She initially suspected a pressure switch or possibly a motor issue and even went to get parts. But instead of just replacing things unnecessarily, she kept thinking through the problem, came back, and found the actual issue -- a clogged tube with debris. She fixed it on the spot. No unnecessary parts, no upselling, just honest, thoughtful troubleshooting. Total cost: $275 ($225 cash). She saved me tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of stress. While it looks like they offer Request-a-Quote (score!) I ended up just calling them as I was out and about. They gave me a two hour window the very next day, then called before they showed up. The tech was the definition of efficient. Friendly enough, not much chit chat, just more or less there to look into things and get the job done. My only slight issue was just a few things that were lost in translation -- they had the address wrong, were not close on spelling my name right, and then the price. They told me they could fix the issue for $135 which I agreed to, then was a bit surprised when the bill was for $209 as the final bill included the parts & labor. No biggie and a very fair price for the tune up and replacement, just would've been nice to know the actual total. The total price did match up with my expectations, so no biggie, just worth noting as I feel like maybe they could automate their bookings/billing just a tad better. I was able to easily set up an appointment online within a time frame that would work for me. They called prior to the technician coming out. The technician was professional and friendly and I feel like the quote they gave me was reasonable compared to other companies. They do charge a $49 service fee normally but that's relatively lower compared to other companies. The technician waived the service fee which was extremely nice and not expected. I did end up going with the company I normally use but only because they quoted me a lower price for the same thing but I would consider using Mission in the future if needed.

Be very cautious with Mission Plumbing, Heating and Cooling…read more My neighbor recently had Mission out for a service call; the problem was with the control board in the air handling unit. The tech had to leave to get a board, but was back within a half-hour and spent a little over two hours total, including the time to get a new board. The board was under warranty, so there was no cost for the board. He was charged $1,063.48, but given a 10% "over 65" discount, so total charge was $957.13, which works out to somewhere between, $320 and $479 an hour. The technician also said that he was lucky that the board was under warranty, otherwise it would have cost and additional $1,000 for the board (this was also verified by the service manager at Mission). We got the model number of the board, searched for it on the Internet, and found it on the manufacturer's website (Goodman) for less than $100. We contacted Mission to discuss with the general manager twice; he never returned our calls. We then visited Mission in person to visit with him, but he "was in a meeting", so we were directed to Gabe, who confirmed the charges above. When asked about the pricing for the board, we were told that it is not generated locally, but by Southern. Mission was purchased in April 2021 by Southern Home Services of Maitland, Florida, which owns 26 PHVAC companies primarily along the southeast coast of the United States. Southern is, in turn, owned by Gryphon Investors, a private equity company. So not only does Mission need to cover their overhead locally, they most likely need to also provide funding for Southern, who in turn possibly has to return cash to Gryphon. It all flows uphill. Southern also owns C. M. Mose, another local PHVAC contractor in the Kansas City area. Moral of the story: Mission may have been a good company at one time when it was locally owned, but it has changed. Get pricing up front. Question the technician. If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else, and don't hesitate to go with a mom and pop; quite possibly they can do the job just as well for quite a bit less money. They don't have the overhead that the big guys do (especially if owned by private equity).

On 12 January 2026, we noticed the house was cold when we woke up. After looking at our thermostat, I tried to change the batteries to see if it fixed the problem which it did not. We called Patriot at 10:06 am, explained our problem, and got on their list to send out a technician. Mike arrived at 11:00 am to check out system to determine the problem. I explained what we experienced with our heating system that morning and then he began his trouble shooting. After checking the furnace fault codes and operation, Mike came upstairs to look at the thermostat. He stated he needed to hardwire the thermostat to the system which he did in a few minutes. When the furnace turned on, Mike went downstairs to monitor fault codes on the furnace. He stated the codes cleared and that is all we needed for the fix. Our heating system has been working just fine since this repair. We always receive prompt service response from Patriot as well as service we trust when Mike has performed work in our home. We highly recommend Patriot HVAC.

Been in this house 9 months and the previous owner did everything DIY. The drain from the sink to the basement was not correct after due to an oversize sink being installed and properly aligned(previous owner). Tim and Scott installed a new drain, repositioned the garbage disposal and new pvc, tubing, etc. They were very professional, personable and explained everything in layman's terms. Very fair pricing. I called the company and requested to speak with Jeff, the owner, but was always given a lousy excuse that he doesn't take calls from a customer and 3 weeks later still haven't gotten a call from anyone, I had to drop their 5 year service contract on another property and hire someone else. Bad business, terrible customer service and the owner/s aren't willing to even speak to a customer and fix the problems nor apologize.
