Owner is rude and shop is dirty and un-accommodating to customers. I parked for 20 seconds in the only available place to park and owner said I can't park there and I asked where I should park. He said I don't know go find public parking. I just left and found a much better shop down the street. Don't recommend this ghetto establishment unless you like parking 10 minutes away. read more

Amazing smog place, I've taken over 20 cars, best price in town, those saying he just passes your car even if it won't pass is bs, he'll willingly check your car and let u know if it passes before he passes it though the machine, obviously if u have an issue u won't pass. Sometimes what you guys have to realize just because your check engine light isnt on DOESNT MEAN YOULL PASS SMOG !! worst service and fraudulent business I would ever take my vehicle for smog. First this guy giving huge issues in passing our vehicle after going for the second time when the issue was fixed. I won't go into detail but these guys were taking advantage of my wife having her go back and fourth and the part I put on is factory oem. They were asking for the code number I'm like " wait a second this isn't a aftermarket part this is factory part that I took off and welded back to the vehicle. They were harassing thinking I stole the part and not wanting to pass my vehicle. I would avoid this place at all cost, honest these older folks don't have a clue what they're saying. " oh I need to have to the code number in the system" it's not AFTERMARKET PART!!! I'm going to have this business close down completely. I would avoid this place for smog checks. Here is why. My friend had a car that had failed for EVAP somewhere else. We had a smoke test ran & determined that it was the filler neck. Got a new filler neck from Pick-U-Parts and i installed it. Ran another smoke and it was 100%. my friend took it to this guy and it ALLEGEDLY failed for EVAP again. Had it checked out on the side for a small price and it passed! Took it to another place and it passed today. So, i would have to conclude that the guys at MC either do not know how to run the EVAP test OR they have a defective machine. I already knew 100% that the EVAP problem had been fixed because I fixed it! Total rip-off! AVOID this place at all costs! Not to be trusted. Also, he wanted to charge full price again for what probably would have been an invalid test. Consideing reporting him to the state. Almost took it to a Smog Referee AND if we had that would have already put them in their crosshairs! read more

BEST SMOG CHECK TEST CENTER IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY! Hands down. I went in with a family friend, who is an auto dealer, time have my car smogged because my registration was due in a few days and the DMV required it. I was worried because I'd waited until the last minute, but he assured me things would be fine; he uses this shop all the time. The shop is IMMACULATE. The service is super FAST and EFFICIENT and the employees are incredibly HELPFUL and KNOWLEDGEABLE. My car passed, no problem. My family has been only going to Jeff for Smog Checks for a few years now. He is friendly, professional, upbeat, and very focused. His prices are straight forward and there is no nonsense there. He will tell you upfront the cost of the test will be. There is usually no wait and he immediately works on it personally. The location is a small set of stalls on Deering just off of Sherman Way and Canoga. The test results are digitally transferred to the DMV so you can complete your vehicle registration right after passing the test. We have been coming to McAuto for years to do our smog. The owner is genuine, helpful and friendly. The service is quick & very affordable. There was a girl that was working there who was horribly rude, lacked customer service, & stole money. The owner had no idea what was happening until a past customer made him aware of it. They're tucked into a little corner where you would never find them if you weren't looking. I've been taking my cars there for 20 years and they have never failed a test. I tried this place out for my vehicles smog check needs in the first quarter of 2016. After comparing prices with multiple other businesses in the West Valley, MC Auto had the best rates around. The service I received was outstanding. The price I was quoted was exactly what I paid when the services were completed. Most smog check places charge a additional fee for the smog certificate and will not tell you of this additional fee until its time to pay. MC AUTO did not play weird games and add fees to my bill. I went to this smog test station on the recommendation of a friend and my mechanic who sends all his customers there. They told me a very nice man, with a great customer service would take care of things. I can only think that the business must have changed hands as we (and other customers in line) received probably the worst customer service in all of human history. Apparently we (and other customers) interrupted the female associates lunch, though there was no sign or nothing to suggest that the business is closed for lunch. She actually said, when asked by a woman in line if she should return in two hours 'maybe' and walked off leaving the customer looking at others in line in amazement. The woman said 'no problem, just let me know when and the associate replied 'Due to starvation I'm not going to answer in case I say anything rude that I might regret.' She would not look you in the eye, answer questions or respond in any basic human way to others. I said, "If you need to eat, we'll wait, just say.' She replied sarcastically, "I can do your smog while I eat (which she did) I just dont understand why people don't get that 12-1 is lunch." The only other thing she said was the price, otherwise ignoring everyone and acting as if we, the customers, were putting her out by giving her business. Now they have lost the business of a whole garage of customers (I immediately phoned my mechanic), let alone everyone that went there today. One star is very, very generous. There are many smog stations. I will NEVER go to this one again. read more
