This was by far the worst experience , I went there for two years. I literally have K tips breaking out of my head she died. I have thousands of dollars if anybody knows about extensions with extensions , decided to maroon with the platinum blonde. She died a little piece of maroon in my hair which of course bled through this was a rookie mistake over $3000 worth of hair ruined by her putting a maroon piece of dye in my hair when she had maroon K tips that were ordered. It was just for Easter. I would never recommend they are now falling out because they were put in too tight. Warning Lauren did this. I'm not upset. I am shocked. I'm a professional that works for the state and I could never imagine walking into work like this. I told her several times do not die Any of my extensions ,is very important that you have a hairdresser that listens this did not happen!!! I only ask of the public to be aware of a community place like that if you're spending a lot of money on extensions pay the extra money go , OK for a haircut or you know hair dye with regular hair but extensions you have to really know what you're doing and she did not and I have to pay for it. Thousands of dollars which is not fair. please never get your extensions done by Sarah. I'm in shock that she died a piece of my hair that bled through all my platinum blonde hair when I literally bought burgundy k tips , Why would you die a piece of them especially that color I feel like this was done very unfair. My Attorny will be contacting this company for the rookie move . And the K tips were put in so tight. They're literally falling out by the root !!!!!!! Leaving this review as I am so unhappy with my hair! I'm very particular about my icy blonde highlights. My last two visits were the worst. I had gotten highlights and the color was way off ( too brassy) I called and had a redo and I should have just left it alone because I got home and it was worse !! I then saw bronze brown on top of my head ! Instead of making it lighter, it is darker and a weird color! I called the salon and was told to wash my hair in hot water! ??? Really ? And, then, I also paid high $$$$$s both times. I should not have been expected to pay for a redo! And, I did ! I called and asked to speak to the owner and she was not there, but was reassured she would call me the next day. Well, that day came and went with no return phone call. I am more upset each day when I look in the mirror. I will b going to a new salon and I will now have to start over and pay again to have it done properly! read more

I got a fantastic haircut with Molly today. I haven't had a haircut the whole time during the pandemic, so she had a lot of hair to cut which wasn't an issue at all. Overall I had a decent experience with my cut/color today, but it was not a GREAT experience. I did not like the haircut, and I definitely did not feel that the cut/color was worth the hefty price which was over $150. I've officially decided to switch to my friend's salon where prices are $100 less for a perm and $100 less for color. Way overpriced and I never feel great about whatever I've had done to my hair. I booked MC Hair Collective for mine and my bridal party's hair and makeup for my wedding in Sep 2022 and I cannot say better things about our experience with them! They did such a fantastic job and everyone looked so beautiful. Gena (the coordinator for booking) was so friendly and accessible - she was very quick to respond to emails and answered any questions I had to ensure a smooth wedding getting ready location for my bridal party and me! I did my bridal hair and makeup trials with them, so we could figure out exactly what I wanted and it was executed just perfectly. I got so many compliments on my look! We also were able to have a space to ourselves in the back of the studio for the day of where we could set our stuff down, eat, drink, etc which was so nice- I would highly recommend them. Went for a balayage root touch up with Meghana. She's a top tier $175 specialist on their website. I'm a natural blonde, and prefer honey tones for a naturally highlighted look. This was discussed at our first visit and since she didn't ask for the touch up, I assumed they referred to their computer. The coloring started out normal with the appropriate balayaged root on one side of my head. As she worked her way around she applied the bleach heavier and fully to the root at my natural partline and the entire top of my head? Even if i wanted more blonde, she should not have bleached my entire part to the root. It will now grow out in a line? Not sure why she did the when we discussed how beautifully the first round had grown out. I was in shock, my hair now is bleached platinum on the side with the part and nicely balayaged on the other side? Did she forget halfway through? As a natural blonde looking for q highlight, I sat in bleach for 45 minutes while she chatted up another client. Did she forget about me? The other stylists seemed to be side eyeing us, but no one was speaking up. I have yellow tones, and look like i could have done this myself. It was obvious. She was not touching my hair again, in shock i paid and left. I cried my eyes out and called back the next day. I told them i was very unhappy and they needed to fix it. They gave me to Christen and said she was the best at color correction. She was kind and asked if I'd had it done there, i was surprised as upset as i was that they had not relayed the information to her that i provided them. Instead, I had to sit in the middle of their business and bad mouth one of their people. She attempted to pull some honey tones through my hair very finely but said that it wasn't permanent hair color so the more i washed my hair the shorter the fix would be. And I would need to return and have a few more things done over time (at my cost) to get me"back to where i wanted" . I'm sorry, I trusted your company and paid a premium and its on me?? I washed my hair once and have already turned that fun gross orange that will return to the awful yellow soon I'm sure. So, no fix. I requested a full refund. I dont want to go in public, I'm embarrassed to be seen even with a mask on. So, if the bleached out touch of sun on brown orangey hair look is what you desire, book with Meghana! I had an appointment scheduled and waited over 32 minutes before I asked the receptionist if something was wrong. No, apparently the stylist was working on another client. My last two appointments have been like this but I did not have to wait in excess of 30 minutes. When I asked if there was a problem, the receptionist went to my stylist and the stylist could not even come out to tell me she was running late. No communication. Have been going to M.C. for several years now. Recently changed stylists due to schedule conflicts, but I still think it's all around great! I am now going to Hayley - she's youunger, but she knows what she's doing. Does a great job with my color, good cut, great styling. I went to her to go back to blonde after being brunette for a year, and it came out great. Awesome job with the highlights, and when I asked her to do both high and low lights she didn't blink an eye. I also see Doina (pronounced Deena) for brow waxes. She usually waxes just a little and then does the rest by hand - always a great job. I've not had a mani or pedi here so can't speak to that. But I did once schedule a massage and would not do so again. There's just not enough of that "spa" atmosphere in the massage room to really make me relax. Not dim enough. And the massage therapist worked my muscles REALLY har - I was actually sore for two days afterwards. read more

Doina does a mean (in a good way) Brazilian. She uses hard wax that she makes herself so there are no fabric strips, the wax just hardens really quickly. She is super quick, super professional, and very friendly. Mindy had a big task ahead of her trying to salvage my hair from the old double cut mullet i came in with. She did a very good job too. First of all, this salon is absolutely beautiful. The customer service is some of the best I have ever experienced at a salon. I had my hair cut and colored by Lauren B, and it was fantastic! She did an excellent consultation and did exactly what I wanted. She was also very knowledgeable about different hair products and tools, which is always a plus. I had a classic pedicure and shellac manicure with Marilou. She does great work, and I will definitely be returning to her. MC Hair will be my go to salon from here on out. I went for the first time and I was a little nervous how expensive my bill would ring up at the end because of how well I was treated. The minute you walk in the door all the girls are very professional and welcoming. You can tell everyone who works at MC loves doing hair. As the stylist and I were chatting about my highlights she asked how I wanted to cut my hair. At first I panicked because I didn't schedule a cut, but I looked like a tangled shih tzu so I agreed to do a trim. The entire process was so fun and exciting...the staff treats you so nice here! When she washed out my highlights she washed and massaged my head for so long. The greatest feeling in the world. It felt so good I thought I was going to get charge for a head massage or something. When it was time to pay I was a little nervous about the price. The decor throughout the salon really gives you the "treat yo self" vibe. For long hair highlights, haircut, shampoo wash, blow dry, and a little style I was only charged $145. The stylist even took the time to talk about my hair type and gave me a few samples. This review is for the nail service only, I have not had my hair done at M.C. Hair: I had a shellac manicure done recently with Christina C. and it turned out beautifully! Shellac manis cost a little more so you really want them to be the best, and M.C. Hair did not disappoint. All the tools (steel ones) were clean and sanitized, and new nail buffers/emery boards are used for each client. This made me very happy as the last thing you want are germs or a skin infection, which is common at some less than stellar nail salons in the area. I definitely would recommend MC hair for a shellac mani or any mani/pedi and look forward to going again. Christina was very personable, funny, considerate and easy to have a conversation with! I will request her for my next visit, although I feel confident saying anyone you book nail services with at MC Hair will do a great job. read more

I'd like to give 5 stars because i do love my hair dresser but the place has water issues that make me crazy! it's always super hot or super cold and they are always apologizing for it but it's been that way for years! Their pedicures are horrible.. they have uncomfortable chairs and those water issues which make for an all around terrible pedicure -- how can they not have the spa pedicure chairs!!!! Also you can't be late or they cancel your appt. Once I called because i was running 10 mins behind schedule and they wouldn't let me still come in! When I had a mid-college life crisis and decided to hack off my long locks, I risked it with Denise at M.C. -- and she did an amazing job. I've never been to her for color, only for cuts, but she always listens well, makes suggestions and double-checks before she does anything drastic. I've gotten to the point where I just trust her. She listened to what I wanted and offered suggestions and the haircut I received was perfect. I have been looking for a good salon since I moved to the area and I think I've found it! They used drugstore makeup, did not start with a base, did not use finishing spray, nor did they even have the products to apply a base or finishing/setting powder. It's pretty sad that i had more professional makeup at home, than what was used for a professional application at a professional price. This review is just for manicures and pedicures. I've had my hair cut there, and my daugher's as well and we've always been thrilled with the results. Considering the price they charge, I would expect a few more amenities and just generally a better job. I had a french manicure done there and a regular pedicure (the deluxe hydrating one on their website) and I won't be going back for those services. They do nails in the attic/3rd floor, there is literally nothing to look at and it's kind of stuffy. The ceiling fan's blades are noticeably sagging from too many days of intense humidity, and was turned OFF. Only one day later, and there are two noticeable chips in the white part of the manicure, but the idea of going back up to that attic tells me to forget it. She barely put on two coats of polish on my toes, and it's obvious. There is also a nick in the polish- just not worth it. Also, most salons have those massage chairs for you to sit in while your feet soak-- not here. A couple of very stiff cushions are all you get. read more

I really really love this place. I moved recently and was panicking about trying to find a salon. I can't afford to come here super often, but the once in a while I can make it is a worthy splurge in my opinion. Daniele cut my hair my first visit, and it was probably only the second time in my life I left with a hair cut and style that I didn't feel the need to immediately go home and restyle myself. All the stylists I came in contact with were really friendly, which is important to me personally. Because I was a new client, they offered a free brow wax also, which was an entirely pleasant experience, or as much as a waxing appointment can be! I had markedly less irritation after my waxing here than any other place I've been, and I wish I could remember who did it for me, but she was great. I think they have a separate spa location, which I've never been to--they can do some waxing at the salon location which they did for me--but the salon location is so nice. The ambience of it is really nice, being in an old house--it's very warmly decorated, and somehow lit dimly without compromising the kind of visibility you want in a salon. It's a really comfortable place. I will say it's a little funny trying to find the right door?? That could probably be better marked. I've never not had trouble trying to figure out exactly how I got in the last time, haha. All in all though, this will be my home for major salon work. Really liked it here. read more

This past year I've noticed more clients being squeezed into the stylists schedules so I haven't been getting as much individualized attention, often sitting around waiting for hair color to be washed out , etc. I often come home with color stains on my face, ears, neck. I have not been to a hair salon in years. I usually dye and cut my own hair, and thats because I know what I like and its very cheap. But my husband and I are going on a vacation soon and I thought I would treat myself and splurge on a new hair do from a fancy salon. I booked the appointment through MC hairs' mobile app and when the list of names came up on which hair dresser I wanted, I chose a gal who had "master" next to her name thinking she would be a master of hair... Boy was I wrong! I even called the next day and spoke to the receptionist about what I wanted and if this girl I booked with could handle that- they assured me yes! When I arrived they gave me a black "gown" so my clothes wouldn't get damaged and continually asked if I wanted anything to drink or a magazine to read. Very nice place. Beautiful decor, old building with modern furniture. Everyone seemed very pleasant. My hair dresser was very nice, however I didn't get a good feeling once she started dying my hair. I came equipped with pictures of what I wanted, but was told it would be to dark for me. So she got a lighter color without showing me any swatches or what it would be similar to. Then during the coloring process- because I came in with blonde hair- she literally only dyed the top half of my hair darker. Like 5 inches from my roots and the rest was blonde. It was a hot mess. She mentioned a glazing during the washing so I'm like ok- that must be what turns the blonde darker. Well while shes washing my hair out, she says she is not going to do the glaze after all because the blonde looks so pretty. So at this point I'm pretty annoyed because I'm the one that dyed my blonde hair and I'm not paying you to dye half my head! Then she mentions that she used a demi-permanent so all this will wash out and fade "naturally" Ok. So you only dyed half my head and now its going to wash out anyway!? I was never informed at anytime it would only be a demi-permanent dye. And even if the hair "looks pretty" maybe do what I asked for? Which is dark...? So after the wash, during the blow dry, while I was examining the hot mess of my hair, it was not anything like the picture and I said I wanted it darker. So then we go back to the sink, she throws a glaze on which she said would be caramel and it turned out gray?!!!! After the next blow dry I was almost in tears. She literally stopped and took me to the front to have the receptionist figure something out- either I get shuffled to someone who would make me happy, or I come back another day. And I truly don't know why this lady was listed as a "master" I didn't ask for anything that hard. Literally dye my hair dark and add some blonde here and there! So after a few minutes, the receptionist was able to send me to a new gal, Brittney. Who is amazing. She calmed me down, assured me we could fix the mess of my hair. I showed her the picture of what I wanted and SHE DID IT! Told me everything she was doing, even curled my hair to show me how nice my hair looked when done. All in all, I will not be going back. I'm glad it worked out in the end, but I just don't like spending sooo much $$$$ on such a bad experience. I literally cringe every time I look in the mirror right now and its from the bad feelings associated with the hair! So, bookers beware! And if you want amazing pinterest worthy hair, maybe go to Brittney- she did a great job and it turned out extremely close to the picture. read more

I have gone to this salon for hair services- and they are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. I saw Allison, and she charged me 130 bucks on 12/14/11 to do 14 foils on my hair. That's almost 10 bucks a foil! Very disappointed with my cut and color. She didn't show me the back of my hair before i left and now I know why. My layers were chopped into a "step" and will take months to grow out.
