We really love mcalisters- great atmosphere and kid friendly. We live in walking distance to this one so its great! Sweet tea is the best. One thing that irks me is that my little always orders the soup- so we don't get the 99 cent kids meal deal and we have to pay extra for a side of chips and cookie for him. Which comes out to like $6 instead of $1. So if we could get soup on the kids meal I would be internally grateful and would go much more. read more

We are normally a huge fans of McAllisters. Everyone of them we have been to have been great! With the exception of the Cedar Park store. Very disappointing. Everything about tonights meal was pitiful. With exception to their iced tea. It was fine. However, the soups were pitiful. The Chicken and Dumplin was watered down and only a couple dumplins. Very little chicken and absolutely no flavor. The fire roasted veg soup had almost no vegs in it. Was also very watered down. The Blueberry / Strawberry salad was a joke too. Mostly just greens. Looked like someone just threw it together and threw it on a serving tray. The Big Nasty, was just not even worth ordering. Four big barely toasted pieces of bread with a spoon of roast on it and gravy and cheese thrown on that and tossed on a serving plater and delivered. Management obviously thinks this is how you are supposed to serve this. No excuse for the crap that was served tonight. And because of it, we may not be using any of McAllisters anymore. Its a shame one store can ruin it for others. But its usually a sign that thats where their business is heading. Unacceptable! read more

Had been to this location when they first opened and was not impressed, but decided to give them another try since it had been a few months. Was looking forward to trying out this place but was sadly disappointed with the service and food. I ordered a turkey sandwich and it was not good. Soggy bread, wilted lettuce and overall just blah. I can't remember what my husband ordered but when he got his plate he noticed it had some dried up food on the top on the side. Gross! He complained and the waiter seemed not to care and did nothing, not even a sorry. My husband ordered their chocolate cake and it was dry and tasted stale. I recently wrote a 1-star review because I had a negative experience with a member of management staff. Within minutes, I had a response from McAlister's organization. I had been heard. I felt better in my heart because someone cared! Since then I've heard from other members of the organization. All of these people have offered their sincerest apologies and advised they will use this situation as a training moment for the management person. I can honestly say that they have redeemed themselves in my eyes. I've always enjoyed the food. The staff has always been friendly. Dear owner of McAlister's of Cedar Park, You have a serious issue with your store manager working the evening of Memorial Day. We ordered food via DoorDash. YOUR people neglected to include our sides in the bag. YOUR manager blamed DoorDash driver for not checking the order. This is not the behavior of a decent manager. First let me paint you a picture: I ask my friend to pick up McDonald's on the way to my house. I send her money via PayPal. When my friend gets here the French fries aren't in the bag. Who do I blame? MCDONALD'S. Guess what? Your manager agrees! If my friend or I were to go back to McDonald's not only would I get my fries, I would get an APOLOGY. They would not blame my friend for not checking the order first. If they're a good manager, they might even offer to remake the order so it would all be fresh and hot. Some managers would even offer a credit for your next visit. But NOT YOUR MANAGER. YOUR manager was more concerned about putting me in my place, how wrong I was, how right he was and telling me what he "could" do for me but wouldn't because he felt I was too mean. Then he tells me I am WASTING HIS TIME because he has CUSTOMERS to deal with. I explain that "I" am a customer and I was here first. He puts me on hold for longer than 30 minutes before disconnecting me without coming back on the line. I think your store needs to replace this manager with someone that can represent your business in a POSITIVE way rather than asserting his authority because someone decided to pin a badge to his chest. He needs to be taught that McAlister's Cedar Park is not his business but someone else's and his negative attitude will get more negative reviews like this one on YELP. I also plan to share it with my CP Women's Group, CP Women in Business Group, my own local business FB page as an example of how NOT to treat your customers. I am not expecting YOUR manager to apologize because he's not mature or intelligent enough to know he should. CP has plenty of restaurants to choose from and I don't have to choose yours. Jason's Deli is not too much farther if I'm feeling like a soup and salad. My question to you is whether you would like to keep my business or would you rather stand behind your extremely rude and incompetent manager. I'm open for discussion, just let me know. read more

Stopped in for a quick meal before a Stars game. We were there mid-afternoon so they weren't busy. We were able to order quickly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Pretty disappointed with the service and food we got tonight...and even more disappointed that I paid nearly $30 to be ignored and have mediocre at best food. I placed an online order that said our food would be ready in 20 minutes. I left 15 minutes after-we literally live in the subdivision behind the restaurant. Got there and the place was dead-maybe one couple and one solo person dining in that were all well into their meal. There was a man waiting at the to go counter and a couple standing by the wall in front of the regular counter. This couple, I am assuming, must have had an incorrect order or they were out of whatever they ordered because they kept walking up to the counter and ordering different things. I waited because they were obviously there before me. The cashier, who seemed nice enough, but obviously not the most customer service oriented person, brought the to go order for the man who was waiting with me....and then completely ignored me and went to talk to the couple waiting. They must have known the cashier (I believe her name was Jessica from her conversations with the couple) because for the next 15 minutes or so, I got to watch them gossip with the cashier, who STILL had not even acknowledged I was standing there. I also got to watch three different people come in well after me and get waited on. There was a male employee who walked by me at least three different times and he never even said a word to me. It wasn't until who I assume was the manager on duty came out of a back office did anyone acknowledge me standing there. At this point, I was furious. Turns out, my food had been sitting out the entire time I was waiting to even get a "hello" or be waited on. I FINALLY was spoken to after waiting over 20 minutes and basically the cashier was just like, "Here's your food, I'll get your drinks, kids are behind you, thanks". No apology or anything. To make matters worse, I got a half of a disgusting stale BLT that was completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever (the pickle was the best part), a cool (at best) cup of soup, my husband got a half-wilted salad with *maybe* half of a tiny cup of dressing, a half of a stale club sandwich and my daughter got cold, gloppy mac and cheese. I can say with absolute certainty that I will NEVER come back here. If the service I received tonight is any indication, I don't think they'll last long here. There are too many other places close by offering better food and better service. read more

Seriously not impressed. Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and the place was a ghost town. Had to repeat my order several times to the front cashier, a young lady with very little customer service experience. While looking around all I saw were young teens. Looked back into the kitchen to see them cutting the plastic bag of what appeared to be soup and thought to myself...uh-oh. Mac and cheese was cold and when I brought it to the manager's attention, she said she'd take care of it, which must have meant I'll throw it in the microwave because that's what we got back, a nuked side of mac. Ordered the Ban Mih special and there was old cilantro pieces on what should have been a sandwich with fresh toppings. Young, inexperienced cook in the back. I am a Jason's deli fan but since there's not one nearby I decided to try McCallisters. A friend suggested the harvest chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a side of potato salad. I gotta say that was some really good chicken salad! We also ordered the smoky pepper jack turkey and it was yummy! My friend who is a very picky eater actually enjoyed that one. read more

Terrible! Had the worst customer service ever. Ordered a sandwich with a soup. Soup came out ice cold. When I brought it back up to the font to ask for it to be warmed up the kid at the counter rolled his eyes and asked the guy working in the back with the food to warm it up because "it's not hot enough." After explaining that it wasn't warm or even room temp it was COLD. The kid disregarded my comment and walked away. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience at this location. Let me start off by saying that North Austin doesn't have many Vegan friendly restaurant options. McAllister's is one of a handful of places that offer meals that are easily manipulated into a vegan dishes, so we were lucky to learn that there was one so close to the house. Our first initial thought was the cleanliness. Including the restrooms. I know everyone can appreciate a clean restroom. Second thing was the register staff. When you first walk in they have smiles on their faces and we're ready to go. I ordered the "Choose 2" Option with a veggie spud (substituted the cheese sauce with Rotel tomatoes), a veggie wrap, and a cup of veggie chili (of course we googled the recipe and it in fact is vegan). We've had it before so I knew it was good. When we got our order they forgot to substitute the cheese sauce with plain Rotel. The woman who we spoke to seemed to be a manager of some sort and promptly told us they would re-make our order. When we got our "fixed" order I started eating my wrap and noticed that there was cheese that was on the plate from the first order. I took my plate to the front and spoke to the manager (Billy) explaining what had happened. He said they were terribly sorry and accommodated us by refunding my meal and a free bowl of chili! This was beyond my intentions but greatly appreciated. Billy then came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking and apologized again for the mistake. This review wasn't intended to point out anyone's mistake but to show how incredibly efficient they were with fixing the problem. I was very impressed. For McAllisters reference: I myself work in customer service and have been lucky enough to have a boss who cares greatly about his team and understands the damage that could be done if you single out a single employee in a bad situation to place blame on. Billy was great. However I had concern about the other manager but I didn't catch her name. I don't want to here "the person who took your order wasn't paying attention." Why would you want me to lose faith in one single employee (which did happen)? It will make me as a customer lose faith in ALL of you. It was a mistake and mistakes happen. It was refreshing to see Billy going to his TEAM and telling his TEAM to be careful. read more

Today i had the most disrespectful and terrible experience here. I frequently eat at McAlisters I really like their food. With a family of 6 it can be a bit pricey to eat here but to me its worth it to not have to cook in the heat. But today was a whole nother story. I walked in it was dead nobody was there but maybe 3 people I placed a 50$ order for dinner. We waited 25 min for our food. When the food came i checked our large order the ENTIRE thats what I said ENTIRE order was wrong. When I told the " manager" she was sooo snarky and rude huffed and puffed rolled her eyes and walked to the kitchen to fix the order. She NEVER once apologized or said let me fix this for you Im so sorry ma'am NOTHING. I could not believe the way we were treated today. Im sorry but when you order a damn turkey sandwich and you bring the person a turkey sandwich with meat and nothing else on the sandwich what the hell do u expect? When you order avocado on another sandwich and their is none on it a baked potato with veggies and they give you one with bacon and cheese and your sides are missing and other things missing from our sandwiches, then obviously your not doing your damn job very well. And this manager could care less about their customers or their happiness. Somebody needs to go in there and retrain her on Customer service and retrain the people who take the orders. In a busy world, it is nice to be able to walk in to a restaurant and place a "to go" order. McAllister's use to be one of my favorite places to go for it is convenient, healthy, lots of variety, and a good vegetarian selection menu. However, 4 out of 5 times that I get home, they have my to go order incorrect. It's very frustrating getting home after a long day to realize you vegetarian chili has meat in it and they gave me Dr. Pepper and not a Diet Coke. The last two times I have called the restaurant back to make them aware of the mix up only to get a "I'm sorry!" Shame on me for not double checking my order after this many times. Recently I placed a catering order for this location....or so I thought! It turns out the number listed for this location for "catering" actually was the Frisco store. In a comedy of errors I ordered from Frisco (near Dallas!) a lunch order for 17 people including 17 potatoes and several quarts of soup. Imagine my surpirse when I walked into the Cedar Park location and they had no idea what I was talking about. It took a few minute to figure out what happened....in the mean time the manager Michael took charge and started my order for 17 people for lunch-yep I had about 20 minutes to get all of this together for a client meeting. Not only did Michael (and crew) get my ordered completed he didn't miss a beat and instead of arguing with me about my order being placed at the wrong store he just fixed it. My wife and I discovered McAlisters about 6 years ago and love the wide range of choices and combinations available from their appealing menu. Savannah Chopped Salad is my favorite. Worst service ever! I get a very low volume cashier, can barely hear her. She asks me for here or to go? I kinda heard that. She asks me my name. I heard that. Now here's where it gets interesting. I don't know if she heard me order a Ruben, and as my side I said "and Chips". She mumbles something? She says something like $1.62?! I said excuse me? She repeats it? I'm thinking either the chips are somehow extra today, or like most Gen Z they can't spit out 3 coherent words, and I assumed she meant to say $11.62. She scans my card, then gives me the bag of chips? Well it's their system, who am I to mess with it. So I stand to the side waiting for my Ruben. And wait and wait and wait and wait. I'm on my lunch hour. I just want my sandwich so I can rush out of there. The young blonde just glances at me every once in a while. Finally the other young lady there took some initiative. Asked me what I had ordered. She looked it up. Just a bag of chips!!!! I was rather angry. So she didn't even get my sandwich order. The other girl tried to make nice, but it just was too many lost opportunities. I had enough. I took my expensive chips and left. Not going there again. What's amazing is how the manager, Travis, turned a bad experience into a WONDERFUL experience--and the bad experience part wasn't even the restaurant's fault. Because he's an ace at customer service and just being an amazing person who empathizes with a customer's circumstances, I will return to the restaurant and sings the staff's praises for a long, long time. One night last week, I was like many others: exhausted and too busy to cook a meal for my family when I ordered from Door Dash to pick up a selection from the deli. The app displayed the menu in a functional way that was very unfamiliar to me and with the opposite process that one normally follows of adding toppings on sandwiches and salads (like pizza). Instead of building salads and sandwiches, the app removes all toppings...so (laughing) when my order arrived at the door, I was shocked to see empty sandwiches and bare salads. Feeling frustrated, tired, and foolishly silly, I called the store to investigate. Travis explained the issue and mistake (never implying it was mine--although it totally was) and he offered to completely redo my order, refusing my offer to pay for it again. He said it wasn't the first time this had happened and that he would reach out to Door Dash to change the menu presentation in the app. Travis won with customer service. He went far above what he needed to do to make a positive impression on me, which is a good thing because my family and friends eat out a lot in the LCP and we talk a lot, too. It was the worst customer experience ever. Never have this many issues of the McAlister's in Georgetown when paying with a MasterCard gift card. The employee I spoke with one picking up my order was very rude with me when explaining what type of payment I was using. After I left the store I checked my card balance where she had started three times and put it run $2 more than what I told her was available on the card. She was constantly making excuses why she couldn't do it and offered a manager but respectfully I declined since I was going to pay cash and she didn't know how to process the card. Well paying in cash she continued to do first the issue and I finally said you know what let me have your manager because now you've made me upset. She then wanted to stay there and but in in the conversation with the manager and myself which I politely told her that she was not included in the conversation. As long as the employee in that particular manager I dealt with today remains at that location I will not return to this location. Also the spread Max was made in correctly I had asked for extra cheese I gave me standard cheese with unmelted cheese on the side. read more

Very poor experience. Brand new restaurant. ..yet upon entering I took a paper menu from the stand near the door only to find it was soiled with grease and food particles. Grabbed another one. ..same problem. I counted 15 employees, and two seated customers, yet no one greeted me. Even the managet,who was seated at a booth interviewing another soon to be employee made no effort to smile at anyone or appear welcoming . The blonde ,Cashier 1,seemed annoyed. She didn't know the menu,didn't help explain anything . It took her three times to get out two sandwich order correct. There were two other employees seated near the front counter. The young girl shouted out to the male employee who was placing our food in a to go bag...."Hope you feel better tomorrow " Oh, so an employee handling our food is ill? Not what you want to hear. So it took all those employees standing around talking to each other to make two sandwiches. Two poorly prepared sandwiches. Reubens should be on toasted rye. Mine was not even slightly toasted. The meat and cheese were barely warm. The potato salad was tasty and although the container would be a good portion size. ..mine was only a third full. My guests pasta salad was also just about two teaspoons of food. Forget this place. Go to jersey Mikes or Paneras for better sandwiches, better service and delicious bread and ingredients. read more

This was the second time I visited this location. The first time the girl got my order completely wrong. The manager did try to make amends with a free meal on us. Which brings me to my second visit. I walked up to the counter and the attendant looked at me and the first thing she said was I am off the clock. Nice warm greeting. I should have left then. I am gluten sensitive. I ordered a gluten free sandwich. I spoke in great detail to another attendant regarding if gluten free sandwiches are available. I was assured the sandwich I ordered would be gluten free. My sandwich arrives at my table and begin to chow down because I have been shopping all morning and was a little hungry. I felt a little gurgle in my stomach and wondered if the sandwich was gluten free. To my horror, it was not. I went up and spoke to the attendant and the manager. He does not have and does understand the issue with food sensitivity. For me it is not automatic that I fall down and start throwing up. It is hours later that it really affects me. I tried to explain that to him and he said why did you eat the sandwich. I ate the sandwich because I ordered a gluten free sandwich and I TRUSTED the establishment to fix it correctly! read more
