First time at Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill with the hubs...on a date. The restaurant is large with both indoor and outdoor seating. It has a harvest like persona with interesting paintings and wall art. Our server was attentive and frequently filled our glasses with tea. He was also very personable. My husband ordered seafood enchiladas with rice and beans, which he loved and I ordered the meatloaf. Meatloaf is not an item you frequently see served at restaurant, so I jumped at the chance to have it for lunch. My meatloaf was dry and a bit hard to eat. Also, my onion rings and mashed potatoes were cold. My lunch was not good but I was not super hungry, so I did not ask for anything else. Unlikely, we will return to Blue Harvest. read more

The food is still awesome, no complaints there but apparently the happy hour menu is now part of a secret underground society. We ordered our usual appetizers thinking we were living our best half price life only to find out they have quietly been promoted to full price celebrities. Turns out, if you want the actual 6 dollar deals, you have to specifically request the happy hour menu like it is a VIP password situation. There is a tiny QR code on a sign somewhere but you will only notice it if you are actively on a scavenger hunt and not, you know, hungry and trusting. I do like this place, but the whole surprise your bill is higher experience is not exactly a crowd favorite. When I asked about it, they said rising beef costs are to blame which is fair but maybe do not make customers feel like they have stumbled into a pricing escape room. So yeah, great food, just be prepared to unlock the secret menu if you want the deals. RIP Steak Quesadillas and Harvest 4. Y'all had a good run. read more

Blue Corn in Cedar Park has been a favorite of mine for years. This is another gem on 1431 right across from the Railyard. They do get busy, and it will get loud, but if you are on a date night and the weather is cooperating, they do have a good-sized patio. On our last visit, we sat at the bar. The bar is not large, but there are also high tops. Do check out their specialty drinks. My Paloma was perfect, not to sour and not to sweet. My husband's bone-dry Ketel One martini was perfect. Our drinks were so good that we had a second round. The gratis warm cornbread is always welcomed before dinner. You can ask for seconds. It's really hard to classify Blue Corn. It's Tex-Mex, comfort food, steaks, happy hour cocktails, brunch, and healthy salads. The good news is that they do it all wonderfully. Blue Corn is perfect for date night, family dinner, or having a few drinks at happy hour. There is a reason that they are always busy. I should mention that the service at the bar was excellent. New location in leander is terrible all around Drinks were intolerable had to return bloody mary did not taste like a bloody mary. The only meal in my opinion is the chicken fried chicken has been consistently good. Whitestone location is much better as bar tenders drinks there are better. Yummm! Delicious food and so much of it. Had to take half my seafood enchilada home! Great house marg, and I loooved the roasted pineapple salsa and guac. We had a couple different servers and both treated my dog like royalty. They were both excellent to the rest of us as well. From a couple suggestions they made and unfortunately couldn't follow through on, I got the feeling that management needs to lighten up big time. Our waitress had a great idea about mixing a couple cocktails together as well as wanting to spoil my pup extra, but was sadly shut down on both after asking. It was no big deal to us that she couldn't deliver, her sweet thought was certainly there, but it's a bummer that management said no to such simple things. One of the best lunch experiences we've had for a while. Shout out to fellow Yelper Shannon G. for the review that led us here! Everything we had was really tasty, menu has some unique takes on some standard item, that we haven't run across before. All the items were really fresh, well presented, and came out quickly (but not too quickly). Hop Queen opted for their very tasty and good value house margarita, and they had a good IPA from Pinthouse on tap. The tortilla soup had tons of flavour, and generous portions of chicken. Very tasty. I had the 512 Crispy Pork enchiladas, and the HQ had Chicken fried chicken. Everything was very good and filling. Had to get a doggie bag, very generous portions. Service was above and beyond, our server Zoe was great, friendly and personable, and added to our enjoyable experience. The manager, Esau, came by to check on us during the meal, and we also saw him hustling around, greeting people, carrying orders out, in general being switched on and ensuring his place was humming along. Very impressive from all the employees we observed! Outdoor seating was also available, and we saw they accommodated a large party of 15-20 back in one of their banquet rooms. read more

I had the pleasure of stopping in for dinner tonight. I haven't been here in over 10 years. The food is still as delicious as ever. They have so many tasty options, everything tastes homemade like your family made it for you. Tonight I enjoyed the blue corn, crusted salmon With crab and tomato relish and a delicious Verde sauce. Nice portion of cheesy mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables to accompany. Blue Corn remains among our favorite restraunts in the area regardless of the location. The farm to table offerings are plentiful and always very tasty. My favorites are the quesadillas, nachos and chicken fried chicken. My SO enjoys the burrito, enchilada and meatloaf. I love love love their trout but it doesn't make it to the menu very often. The staff are pleasant and keep an eye on everyone which is always nice. They are prompt and bring starters of cornbread and drinks pretty quick which is nice. We love their appetizer options especially at happy hour. I wish they had a special appetizer from time to time to try other things they make. One word to the wise, it is frequently chilly in the restraint so be sure to bring a jacket if you tend to be cold. read more

We made the right choice! The Fry Shrimp Po Boy was overflowing with well-seasoned shrimp on a nicely grilled hoagie roll. The slaw was very flavorful and perfect with the shrimp. The habanero aioli added a nice kick to round out the sandwich. It was all together a terrific sandwich. The corn bread muffins came warm and soft. Finally, my sangria was delightful. One thing we love about Austin is that there is usually no wait at most places and Blue corn harvest is one of the only places in Austin where we had to wait. It wasn't too long but it sure was worth it. Their decor is a little old but feels cozy and booths are quite comfortable. The service is pretty good across the board too. Their Mexican martini is quite good to start with and that's what we got. Its served in a shaker and can be shared by 2 people if you want to wet your lips but not get too much alcohol is your system. The food is excellent across the board. We got the artichoke-stuffed chicken, blue crab stuffed chicken and the fried tilapia. The tilapia had a bit too much salt but was flavored quite well otherwise. The sauces for the chicken dishes were a little on the heavy side but flavorful. We have been here before and I think we will come back again. read more

Our server was a bit quiet and timid but he was 100% on it for service. He made sure our orders were correct by repeating them back and everything came out as ordered. When we asked for something extra he was johnny on the spot and delivered. I got the steak and eggs Benedict without the muffins and the steak was very nice and tender with great flavor. First off, we went here based on good reviews we saw on Yelp. We were beyond disappointed. From the get go it was not a very friendly welcome into the restaurant, but the server was arrogant, obnoxious and unhelpful! My daughter was basically ignored. We were given no kids menus. I have two kids and the server gave my son a kids menu after I asked him about kids menus but not my daughter. When I asked for one for her they said they had to print more kids menus off okay fine. Then we asked about what food is best and the recommendations he gave we could tell it was to get the bill up not genuine recommendations. The service all together was subpar at best but then when the food came it was below to mediocre my seven year old wouldn't eat her meal at all. She played with it stated it was gross we tried it- it was. My son ate his because he eats everything in sight ( God help me when he is a teen). My mom didnt eat hers and I ate hers only bcuz she wasted money on it and it was the only meal I had for the day at about 3 pm. The enchilades were dissappointing with almost no cheese and were mediocre. The food my mom got arrived cold and was also not great. We won't be back but no one else based on this experience should go either. When we went to pay my mom said she was paying cash the served hovered over her. She was trying to put the amount down and get more cash out and he said " you want me to make change for this?!?" And my mom said " no we don't need change and asked me for an additional 5.00 to give him." The way he stood over my mom watching her get money out was so disgusting.
