This location is always friendly upon entrance. The only set back is they have only one machine accepting debit credit payments. I wasn't able to scan for my rewards. The guy taking my order was super friendly. Food was good. I did a you pick 2. Half a spud and half a chicken Cesar wrap. Paris's with non other than their sweet tea. They ask you if you want fresh lemons in it. I didn't realize they opened at 10:30A. Parking is shared with other businesses. Some of the lot is sort of hilly. Very clean inside the store. I have been going to McAlister's deli for quite some time. I was first introduced to this sandwich/potato/soup restaurant back when I visited Oxford, Mississippi. So I was quite excited when they came to the St. Louis area. I took my family there quite often. However, I have noticed that prices continue to rise and I'm sure it's due to inflation and politics but I must say I can't afford to take my family here anymore. When soda cost almost 4 dollars, it has up quick. I even had a free entrée with my rewards , but my bill for two of us was still $20. The food is decent. However, I just don't know if I can continue visiting McAllister's deli as I can't afford these prices anymore. read more

What's not to like about McAlester's? High quality food and great service! I joined a friend for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We both enjoyed the Pecan Berry Salad which was as delicious as it was fresh! The restaurant was busy and was very clean! Our server was attentive and the free drinks refills were great. I noticed that the price has crept up as our bill was over $33 with teas and salads and no tips. I think that is the price of quality in the post Covidian Bidenflation Era! The cashier couldn't get my order right even though I almost had to spell ot out for him, he still overcharged me. When I finally received my food after 20+ minutes, my salads were soggy. The bread for my sandwiches were soggy, I was told there was no ham for the King club, but one of my sandwiches had 1 half of slice of ham. My sandwiches were also cold, and had no cheese on them. I have been to deli before pretty pleased except one time. But yesterday, WOW. Received wrong sandwich, did not receive extra turkey i paid for, did not get sour cream etc. I had to order correct sandwich and this was through doordash so very expensive situation. Let's face it. Delis have become trendy and rather easily indistinguishable from each other. McAlisters breaks the mold. I normally do not like chain sandwich shops. This place proved me wrong. The portion sizes were just right. The tortilla soup was some of the best I've had. The restaurant was very clean. This was just a great experience for lunch. We went here this evening.. and service was ridiculously bad! She ordered Jalapeño/Avocado Turkey Crunch sandwich (ONE Sandwich) and an Iced tea. I wasn't really hungry, I only ordered a fruit cup and an Iced tea. To be clear they were not very busy at all (as I recall x2 to 3 other tables other than us) 30+ minutes later still no order. We noticed patrons who arrived after us had not only ordered but had received their food/were eating/nearly finished.......yet our small order was still MIA. So we waited She finally asked if her order had been lost... They say "No" (with a confused look on their faces) Finally a male "service" person brings order... and was clearly interested in only plopping food on table and darting away... When asked what took so long, snidely said the sandwich had to be remade. I am so disappointed in our visit today. I ordered the pick two. The King Club and the Spud with cheese, bacon, butter, and sour cream. The potato was very good but the King Club had so much lettuce and thick tomatoes it was hard to eat. So when I took most of the lettuce and tomatoes off I found a black curly hair in it. I stopped right away so I have no idea how much was in there. I told the manager and showed her what I pulled out and she had it remade for me and brought me a box to take home. I ordered for curbside delivery I called once I arrived the female who answered the phone said she would be right out so I can waited no one came out, I waited for 15mins then I called back and stated that I have been waiting for 15mins for curbside and even described my car in case she forgot. McAlister's is one of my favorite lunch/dinner spots. It's a soup and salad joint that has a twist: baked potatoes (spuds) with all kinds of toppings. My favorite is the grilled chicken spud. Any time I'm in Fairview, I make a point to stop by. But my favorite thing about this restaurant isn't the food, it's the kids night! Every Tuesday night, they designate a section for the kids. They have a table for coloring, a table for board games, a table for crafting, and a table for puzzles. The kids eat free, but that isn't even the best part. They have an employee in the kids section to supervise. They make a point to get to know the kids' names, and even took down my daughters favorite candy in the hopes that we will show up for their costume contest next month. I live 40 minutes away, but I will probably make it a point to bring my daughter up to McAlister's kids night at least once a month. read more

Came here while waiting for my car to get done with an oil change with my boyfriend. We had the worst experience ever. When we got out food my Italian Sandwich was soaked in oil and sloppy made. In my efforts to find food that is both delicious AND healthy (recently put on doctors mandatory orders to eat a healthy diet) I've FINALLY made it to Mcalister's. A pleasant surprise! I expected decent healthy food. what I got was good food and service uncommon these days. You are greeted immediately when you enter and your order is taken and promptly delivered to your table. I dont think Ive ever waited more than 4 mins. I have actually gone back 3 days in a row.. and I dont generally like to eat the same stuff back to back. The Tables are always clean and They come out and refill my drink without my asking them to. They are attentive but not overly bothersome. I will definitely be returning.. often. Off to a great start! I've always loved McAlister's ever since I was in college. McAlister's actually started in Oxford, Mississippi and then spread throughout the state. They started franchising in the late 1990's and finally made it to the Metro East two years ago when they opened in O'Fallon, IL. The new Fairview Heights, IL location is on the site what used to be Blockbuster video (which used to be the site of Christ United Methodist Church before they moved to Frank Scott Parkway - that's a just a freebie :) ) They have a large menu and the service is always great. The sweet tea is wonderful. My favorite is the Chipotle Chicken wrap - mainly because it tastes great and is only 9 Weight Watchers Points. Enjoy! read more
