This was my first experience at this Grenada, MS location and it definitely did not disappoint. I placed a Togo order in the restaurant and the cashier was friendly, attentive and helpful. I ordered their 1/2 n 1/2 with my choices being Broccoli cheese soup and The King Club. I am very pleased they put the soup in a heavy paper container which allows one to warm it up in a microwave if needed. The 1/2 Club sandwich is HUGE! I separated it and still haven't finished the second half. It also came with a pickle spear, which also tastes great! The restaurant is a quiet place where one can have a conversation without loud music or distractions. Great place and I will give it another try while here in Grenada. read more

We made a return visit to this McAlister's Deli after a couple of years and found that some improvements have been made. Service was friendly and efficient and food was fresh and tasty. I had a chicken club with broccoli side and my wife had an Italian sub with potato soup. All was good and my wife thought that her soup was primo. Good work! read more

We have stopped at this Mcalister's deli on many occasions... mainly when our daughter is traveling for ball. It's a pretty solid spot every time we are passing through Grenada, and someones tummy growl. . The building, may look kind of sad from the outside, but it's still pumping out some pretty awesome sandwiches and salads... just a old building. It's very consistent when it comes to the food, wether 6 months or a year have passed since stopping in, it's always a solid consistent spot. The girls and guys working are always very helpful and pretty quick... they hustle in here and they seem to have good attitudes about being at work, which isn't something you see a lot anymore. Also, seem to keep staff because we often recognize the faces greeting, taking orders, etc. and they are always sharing responsibilities. While traveling with dogs, we needed a place to stop for dinner that would allow pets on the patio. McAlister's said "no problem" so that made our decision easy. This location has the same great food and service we've come to expect from McAlister's. I had the club sandwich, which is my go-to. It was fresh and delicious. Of course, they have the best tea around. Even though everything was made to order, it didn't take long to get served, eat and get back on the road. The club sandwich was massive and very enjoyable. They also offer lighter options, making it a better choice for those watching their waistline compared to fast food. Additionally, it's significantly more affordable than the local chain restaurant. One criticism, the bathroom door should be a "pull" instead of a "push" in the men's room, if someone is at the sink, you nail them with the door. I eat at McAlister's about 1-2 times a month throughout their chain and only stop at this location when traveling North from Louisiana towards Memphis. I ordered a bowl of potato soup and a sweet tea and the soup had a watery consistency...not the creamy potato soup that I have come to expect from McAlister's. So disappointed. I wasn't dining at the end of the day so it wasn't as if they were trying to scrape together one last bowl of potato soup...not sure what happened here. I also decided to eat outside on their patio...not the best choice. All of the metal chairs hadn't been power washed in some time and had bird droppings on them. read more

I love a good salad and the pecan berry salad from McAlister's never disappoints! I did the pick 2 and also had the Rachel sandwich, it was also wonderful! Been going here for years so I can say it is pretty consistent. The food hasn't changed and the service is mostly good except for rush hour. Also I would avoid Sunday as the lunch crowd can be overwhelming. As far as Grenada goes it's a decent place with a large selection of things to choose from. read more

Arrived on a week night to find a line to place my order. Four people were taking orders. Food arrived 20 minutes later and was well worth the wait. This is the grossest restaurant. We went in when it was not busy because were traveling. Every single table in the place was dirty with food on it. The bathrooms were so disgusting! Freaking Awesome Tuna Wrap with cucumbers! Delicious! And so much better than boring Subway! Highly recommend this place for a great fresh sandwich! Especially out of town travelers. Wow! Just wow! The food we ordered was not edible. Veggie clubs came out with no avocado. The avocado was brought out on a separate plate after we asked for it-which was fine. The avocado was 7 tiny little slivers that looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The cucumbers on our house salad were rotten and translucent. My hubby had a Ruben, which was chock-full of meat and he was pleased. I ordered the Spicy Southwest Chicken and while the ciabatta roll was fairly good, the flavor of the sandwich was blah - definitely neither spicy nor southwestern. Service is good. Food is good. Everyone here seemed rushed but polite. This is not a 5-star place, but would have gotten 4 if the wifi was fast enough to use. Had to disconnect and use the spotty 4G service in the area which still ended up being faster. Pages took minutes to load. I had the New Yorker with provolone instead of Weiss. It was good. It wasn't messy or overly juicy. This made the bread moist enough to enjoy, and dry enough to hold. Unfortunately, like those other places, sodium content is ignored, resulting in unhealthy choices even when paying attention to the nutrition guide. And one other unpleasantry. Specifically at the Grenada, MS location, employees (who are otherwise nice) close off seating sections at night so that people can't spread out and enjoy even a little privacy. Last week, we were forced to choose between sitting near a narcissistic loudmouth or behind a man leaning his arm back into the only remaining open booth. To the owners: Presumably, you want customers. But if your recipes and cleaning policies are designed for your own convenience (e.g., salt is cheap / confined spaces are easier to clean) instead of the customers' enjoyment, how are you going to stay in business when a truly customer-centric restaurant comes to town? read more

I eat here almost every week because there's limited options to my liking in the area. However, every time (ok both times) I order online my order is wrong. The first time my order got given to someone else. Then when they remade my order it was missing everything on the spud except the cheese, and I had to go back to have it fixed. They were kind, apologized, and gave me a coupon for my next visit. Today I called when I got to my hotel as I realized all the extras I paid to have added on were not actually on any of my food items. When I called, the guy asked me where I was, 'like if I was close and they could like just fix it.' I really did not want to go back out in the world and asked if they could just refund the two bucks to my work card. I was told maybe but they'd have to have the manager call me tomorrow about that. So I sighed quite irritated, and went back to get my pricey add ons. I tell the girl at the counter that my order has been wrong each time I've ordered online. She said "it shouldn't be I mean you're typing it in yourself." This is frustratingly hilarious; my first thoughts were: "No shit" and "what's typed is still correct I'm not the one who messed up here." My order was corrected while I waited. I FINALLY get back and into my hotel. Set out my soup, my now correctly baconfied salad, tea, and cheesecake (oh yes I went all out tonight!). Let's start with the soup, I think to myself, so it doesn't get cold. Ok spoon. Where's the spoon. Oh look no flippin spoon. And now I'm sitting here looking at my now quite chilled soup, which at its cold consistency may actually be edible via fork. Sigh.. read more

This was my first time to McAlister's Deli. I heard they were very busy during lunch so I ordered on line so it would be ready when I got there. As promised the order was ready when I arrived. I had the roast beef sandwich with a horseradish sauce. It was very good. I also ordered several of the sea salt caramel cookies. These were excellent, I wish I had ordered several more to go. Stopped for lunch and I ordered 1/2 a chef salad with honey mustard on the side and a glass of unsweetened tea with lemon. Cashier said I could not order half a salad without getting a cup of soup or 1/2 a sandwich. I asked her to cancel my order and take my husband's since I was on a restricted diet & had to see what I could get. Only low-fat, Low-calorie soup was vegetable which I don't like but ordered anyway thinking I could put crackers in it & then asked for water with lemon rather than the tea (no caffeine & do not use artificial sweetener with water). She pointed to a glass of tea and said that I ordered it. I replied that I had asked her to cancel my order. She just stared at me. Husband was annoyed so just paid her and we sat down. Tea was so weak, he didn't even drink his. I got my soup and salad but no knife or fork to eat salad with. He got chips with his soup -- I got nothing with mine. I haven't been to a McAlister's in a while and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have updated the menu selections and decor. While the food was ok ( my nacho basket was lukewarm at best), the service wasn't all that great. The employee who took our order seemed very bored and unconcerned. The kitchen was out of potatoes, but we received no apology or any other gesture aside from being given a time that the potatoes would probably be ready. After finally sitting and getting our meal, an employee walked by our table twice without offering to refill my drink even though I had placed the refill card in the holder on our table. read more
