Great staff working together was nice to see and Knob Hill is more than a tavern with separate dining area and an outside patio with patrons dining despite the rain but we went in to the bar area so I could watch the weather reports for my travels the next day on one of their TV's. Great cold fishbowl mugs available and my son even met an old classmate from high school and got caught up on their lives. Unfortunately, the quality of the experience has declined significantly. The bowling lanes are constantly malfunctioning, which has become extremely frustrating. During our most recent visit, we started on Lane 5, but it repeatedly broke down, so we were moved to Lane 6. Shortly afterward, another family was placed right back on Lane 5, even though there were plenty of other open lanes available. Another ongoing issue is lane placement. When there are numerous open lanes, families should not be placed directly next to each other. Families with young children also should not be placed beside league bowlers whenever it can be avoided. It creates unnecessary tension, as league bowlers often become frustrated with the noise and activity that naturally comes with young children trying to enjoy bowling. In addition, the seating throughout the facility is torn and worn out, giving the bowling center a neglected appearance. Customer service has also been disappointing. Employees often appear uninterested in helping guests and instead seem to spend their time sitting around playing games. Over the past month, my family has had to leave on multiple occasions because of lane malfunctions or because of issues created by being placed next to league bowlers. We enjoy coming to Showplace Bowling and would love to continue supporting your business, but these recurring problems have made it difficult to do so. I hope management will take these concerns seriously and work toward improving the facility, maintaining the equipment, and providing a better experience for all customers.
