I decided on a Reuben sandwich combo. I was disappointed they didn't offer fries since it was to go and they didn't seem to offer anything except chips that you can eat in the car. The gal was nice taking my order. The problem was the sandwich. I paid over $9 for the combo which did not include a drink. I'm not exaggerating when I say the meat that was supposed to be corned beef was the texture and seasoning of a flavored bologna. It was a corned beef wannabe. Nah, won't be back soon. Stopped by on Thursday night around 7:15 pm and they were slammed. We ordered our food to go. It took a hot minute to get our food due to their busy take out line. They forgot to include one item and we were charged for it. We decided we would forfeit our money rather than go back. We had a tough day and just wanted to stay home. We love the Savannah chopped salad and will always come back for more. Their unsweet ice tea is cold and fresh. Employees are friendly and the gal at the cashier complimented me on my handmade leather wrap bracelet. The office was open and had what looked like a child's drawing that said 'God is good' with a smiley face. It made me smile. Shame on me for not checking our bag before we left. We have a home in FL and SC. We placed orders in both states. While in FL I placed an order on the app but for some reason it changed my location back to this one in SC. We didn't realize it until we went to pick up our order in FL. The FL location told us that we had to call that store to get our money back and then had to order again with them and pay them again. I called this SC location which sent me to a call center. The lady said she would call the SC location, cancel my order and get me a refund. She said that the order was canceled and that the refund would be back on my credit card within 10 days. We never received our refund. When we got back to SC we placed an order with this location. When my husband picked it up he spoke to Lee the manager and she asked if she could just give us two complimentary cards for a meal. That was fine since it would equal what we had already paid them. A week or so later my husband goes there to place the order in person. He called me to speak with the cashier since I normally place it through the app and he didn't know what we get. I told the girl (Elizabeth is listed ask Host on receipt) what we wanted and even asked her to repeat it back to me to make sure it was right. My husband comes home and tells me that it's a good thing he checked the order. He has to eat gluten free food so he gets the gluten free bread. Well they gave him NO bread. He went back in and asked where his bread was. They give him the order again. He checks it again and now they have given him someone else's sandwich. Then the person making the sandwich plays dumb like they didn't know it was suppose to be gluten free even though it says it on the order. They even asked him if it was a choice or allergy that he was asking for GF bread. He said allergy. We asked for (2) 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 sweet tea drinks with slices of lemons. I even verified with the girl that she had it correct and she said yes. I take a drink and it was horrible. They gave us 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 unsweetened tea. They did at least remember the slice of lemon. The drinks went down the sink. I was going to do their feedback survey but it says my code as already been used which is weird. We should have just been given our refund as we were promised. Instead we paid for stuff that wasn't what we wanted or ordered. We really enjoy eating at McAllisters in FL and was happy to see they were in SC also. This kind of service saddens us and makes us not want to eat there any more. Always fresh and tasty. Just overpriced and NOT the best tea in town. I can make the best tea in town by brewing some hot water, sugar and tea bags at home. Their loaded baked potato is really not loaded. It's got cheese, sour cream and bacon but it's minute amounts of each. I was so disappointed. They are in the same strip plaza as Shomars, their direct competition. Both restaurants are VERY similar and both similarly priced. This place does, however, have a GREAT outdoor sitting area. We ordered online before we left another parking lot in town. When we pulled in McAlister's parking lot Herlong in Rock Hill we pushed the I'm here on their app. We waited maybe 10 minutes more and called to just make sure they knew we were there. The girl that answered the phone said yes ma'am I will be right out. We told her we were in the red F150 pick-up in front of their patio. She said yes ma'am. The curbside pick up spots were directly in front of us, it is a small parking lot and due to the size of our vehicle it is safer to pull through a space instead of backing out which was not an option curbside. We waited another 10 minutes no order. Called again. Another girl said oh you need to call and let us know when you are here. We said we did. We said here on your app THEN called, told you we were here and where we were, again what we were driving. At this point it was 40 minutes since our order was placed. We asked for a refund. Manager finally came out but kept implying it was our fault because we weren't in the spot over and over. Just made it worse. Took NO responsibility. Said he would credit our money back....we'll see. The staff is pleasant. However, post COVID I've had consistent issues with my orders. Once the broccoli cheddar soup tasted like water. Most recently I placed an online order requesting extra honey mustard and instead got none at all on my sandwich. What we were presented with was two overcooked potatoes and soup that both looked and tasted like there was not enough water added to the mix. I ordered online for curbside pickup at 7:45pm on Saturday August 27, 2022. The email said that the food would be ready at 8:12. I arrived at 8:12, tapped the I'm Here button in the email and waited. Waited. Waited. At 8:25, I went into the empty store, hollered hello. Finally, someone came. My order was waiting on the counter. It was marked 8:06. I told them to remake it. They pretended to. The cheese on the beef au jus was congealed. The baked potato was burn and congealed. The soup was cold. They didn't remake anything but they made me wait another 15 minutes. I've lived in rock hill my whole life and this has always been one of my favorite places to eat. Today I went and it just wasn't good! I waited so long for a salad and when I got it, it was soggy! I placed a catering order for 13 people recently. Rachel was very helpful when I placed the order, and explained how each of the different "bars" would be prepared. On the day of the party I arrived early, but the food was being boxed up for travel. Rachel had prepared an extra serving on each of the bars in case additional people showed up. The food was fabulous! There was so much of it that we spent hours eating and there was still food left over. It took me over ten minutes to communicate my 3 item order to the cashier, probably because she didn't know what Chicken Salad was (had to google it to show her) and kept repeating myself. Even STILL my order was very wrong. Sandwich came with NO sauce instead of extra sauce. And my salad came with sad, colorless iceberg lettuce instead of the Romaine that I asked for. I enjoy going to McAlister's Deli. A great selection of sandwiches, salads, and potatoes await. They have a few soups of the day as well. There are sandwiches for every taste. McAlister's has wi-fi, so I like to go here to get some work done. The atmosphere is nice and the layout is quite open. The gentleman that rang me up was very nice but the staff member directly behind him was having a nervous breakdown. McAlister's is my go to place for lunch in Rock Hill when I'm by the hospital. I really wish there was a Panera on this side of town, but I will have to settle with McAlister's. I almost always get the veggie pita and roasted veggie soup. Good combo and reasonably healthy. You can get completely overloaded on sodium here if you're not careful! The regular staff at this location are really great and make the experience enjoyable. I can't say that about the new ones or the ones that have come and gone. read more
