It has been a while since I visited a Sonny's and after my recent trip I regret not going back…read moresooner. Anytime you drive past this Sonny's you can smell that BBQ smoke just wants to draw you in for some goodness! I decided to use the app to order ahead as I had a little bit of a drive down to pick up the food. It was easy to use and customize your order. There is a curbside pickup spot right out front so I parked there and let them know via the app I was there. Shortly thereafter a friendly staffer brought out my order. First let me say they really prepare you for a feast. Loads of napkins and extra sauce and utensils were provided. For my main dish I ordered the Classic smoked pork sandwich. I got the garlic texas toast and tater tots for my side. As you can see in the photos these were large pieces of toast and plenty of meat! The tots were fried perfectly. Crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside! I also ordered some tenders sauced and tossed in their sweet bbq sauce! These tendies were huge! And not over sauced! There was just enough to add flavor but not make them soggy or drowning in the sauce. As you can see they were hot and juicy and now they are high on my goto place for tenders! I also ordered the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. You get two massive cookies that are not only large in diameter but they are thick too! It was all so good I came back the next day for a redo of that classic BBQ sandwich. I can't say enough good things about my meals here. If you want some yummy BBQ you gotta stop in!

They put 7 of the quarts awkwardly in one box, and one quart in a bag. I was handed these items. At no point was I offered assistance to my vehicle or to even open the door with my hands full. A simple offer would have gone a long way. 2. When I got to the car, I inspected the quarts. I'm glad I did because of their awkward placement, they were essentially rubbing up against each other causing 3 of the tops to partially come off. The only one wrapped was the single one in a bag. All 8 quarts should have been wrapped for clean transportation. 3. There was a discrepancy of soup in each of the quarts. Some of them were almost full, which is adequate, but others look liked like they were shorted by a bit. I weighed them, and I had containers going anywhere from 750 grams to 879 grams. I should have 674 more grams of soup if all were filled around that 879 grams mark. Aside from all of that, the soup was warm after traveling and perfect to serve at a gathering. If McAlister's had a least offered better service and gave the proper amounts paid for, I would have rated this experience better.
