I'm no stranger to eating at Cava and have visited plenty of the locations. It's my first time back in Fort Mill after a few years and this location is one of the many new restaurants. I visited this place later in the evening when you'd except the place to be messy, but they held up well. I opted for a Spicy Lamb Avocado Bowl. The bowl was delicious and settled on the stomach just fine for such large portions. I ordered the sour cream & onion pita chips and they told me there would be a wait. After about 20 minutes I figured they forgot about me so I asked about the chips. Immediately upon recognizing the mistake, one of the staff members provided me with an extra bag due to the wait. For this spot to be newly opened, the service is bad. I ordered a bowl with lamb and they literally gave me about 3 small pieces. When I asked for extra, the server gave no response, but instead a rude look as if it was a problem to ask for more (I was prepared to pay extra). I went one time and will never go back unless they get more courteous team members. I felt very unwelcome at this location after that experience. First of all, I love, Cava! I was extremely excited when we found out there was one coming to Fort Mill. However, this is the third time that I've been because I keep trying to give them another chance, but this will be the last time I ever come here. The first time the food was mediocre, which I will give it to them, t were brand new opening, whatever. Second time I came, young lady checking me out, had the biggest chip on her shoulder and she was either unhappy that she had to work or she just didn't like people. Now, this last time that I've come an hour before closing, there was no chicken, they had run out of a dip, and instead of offering me extra of another, just kind of treated me as if I needed to accept it. Then the young lady waiting on me, proceeds to yell the whole time that she's waiting on me and talking to the other employees about a man who was frustrated about there not being any chicken. The first time I visited Cava I arrived at 9:45 PM. Yes I know it's late but I was on my way to work. If you close at 10 pm then you should still have access to the food and drinks. I understand if you ran out of some things at that time of night, but the items that you have should be available to customers until your restaurant closes or close your restaurant earlier than 10pm. They had cleaned up the drink station was cleaned up and I know they were probably annoyed that I arrived when they're trying to clean up and get out of, there, but the restaurant closes at 10 PM. I got in line. I was the only customer there. The employee said she would be right with me. Remind you I was the only customer in the restaurant. I had to wait until she fixed food to go for herself then she waited on me. The second time I visited this location I got there at 9:30 the same issue. The drink station was closed. I asked if I can get a drink. She said no they've already cleaned it up. Most of the food was packed up. She was rude and not friendly at all and to make matters worse, she was being real stingy with the portions. I should have asked her to make my bowl like hers. If you're open till 10 o'clock, you should be open until 10 o'clock. You shouldn't shut down your main food items in the restaurant at 9:30 that just not acceptable. I would suggest management contact Chick-fil-A or Dutch coffee and find out what they do to get exceptional happy employees that act like they care and like their job. I normally enjoy CAVA as a restaurant. Unfortunately, I will never stop at the Fort Mill location again. The man making our family's food , who I assume was the manager, charged us an extra $6 for lettuce on two pitas insisting that lettuce was an extra charge. I have never been charged for lettuce on a my pita before. I looked on the CAVA website and found lettuce is included with the pita. I brought this to the attention of the man, he was very cold and told us again we would be charged extra for the lettuce being included on our pitas as an ingredient. The employee rang the lettuce up as saffron white rice. I did not get rice on my pita. I wanted to introduce this restaurant to my father and his wife, they were happy with the food and appalled with insistence of the employee. I documented our food and receipts and will be contacting corporate in hopes of finding resolve. I will still eat at CAVA, just not at this location. read more

Went to Cava this evening to get take-out. Restaurant was clean and first employee was helpful and courteous. Employee responsible for toppings was yelling at the other employees, leaning (with both elbows) on the counter over the food, and repeatedly using her gloved hands to pull up her pants, without removing or replacing her gloves. It seems some retraining is necessary. read more

My husband and I are longtime fans of Cava, so we were genuinely excited to hear a location opened in Fort Mill. Sadly, this visit was less "Mediterranean magic" and more "Greek tragedy." To start, the employee kicking off the orders seemed far more interested in snapping at her coworkers than helping customers, which made the whole line feel awkward and tense. Despite there being no one ahead of me, our order took nearly 20 minutes--an impressive feat considering fast-casual is kind of the whole concept. We got home thinking, "Okay, at least the food looks great!" That optimism lasted exactly one bite. The lentils were so undercooked I briefly wondered if I had accidentally ordered a side of aquarium gravel. They weren't just a little firm--they were scattered throughout the bowl like tiny edible landmines. Eating around them wasn't an option; they were everywhere. In the end, $40 went straight into the trash, along with our excitement about having this spot nearby. We'll chalk this one up to a bad day and hope future visits are less "crunch" and more "comfort." read more

I was so disappointed, I love cava but this location is the worst experience with cava I've had. I thought since it was a new location it would be top notch but it was bottom of the line. The chicken I got was cold , the pita chips were fried so hard you couldn't even bite them. They also skimp you on portions. The service was ehhh. The service at this CAVA is terrible. There is no sense of urgency at all. 6 employees present on a Thursday and can NOT fulfill the orders they have for online or delivery. Out of the 6 employees in the building, only 2 of them are actually working. There's a line up of 7 bags for online/delivery and not one person working on them. The 2 working employees are working the ppl in front of them. One making the orders and one ringing ppl up. I guess I don't understand why the online orders wouldn't be considered a priority since those orders are already paid for! I don't rely on first impressions necessarily but this has happened the 3 times now. I will not be waiting for 53 minutes for an online order again. read more

My daughter and I placed a mobile order for pickup. It was ready on time but my daughter didn't notice until after we left that our bowls didn't have the usual side containers of dressing. She opened the bowls to see if maybe it was already on the food but it was not. No big deal, we hadn't traveled far, so we turned around to get it. My daughter went inside and politely asked the two female employees behind the counter if we could get the dressing as it wasn't included in our bowls. She was met with an eye roll and a rude reply of "oooook" as though she was asking for something unreasonable. She asked if the dressing was not already in the bowls and my daughter politely said no, she had checked. My daughter then observed the employees giggling and could tell they were whispering about her as they drizzled the dressing on our bowls. She then pushed them across the counter at my daughter without a word and my daughter said "you know, I'm not even upset, I just wanted the dressing because it isn't as good without it" and the girl rolled her eyes and said "well now you have it" in what my daughter described as a mocking tone. The food was ok, my sweet potatoes were pretty dry and tasteless but otherwise the food was good. That said, we will drive further to the Blakeney location even if it's less convenient to avoid those rude employees. I LOVE cava so much it's my favorite thing ever! But this location is not it. I get cava multiple times a week, yet almost every time I do an online order, it takes them between 20-30 extra minutes to make my food than my pickup time on the app. I've been late to work because of this multiple times. It just seems to me that the workers have no sense of urgency. I tell them a few times that I've been waiting on my order for a long time and still no one is making it?! Today, my order was not only 30 minutes late, but they also annoyingly slammed my food on the counter (I was not being a karen or doing anything wrong), and the workers were not being very mindful of the space- the worker was leaning over the counter and yelling at her coworkers. I've also never wrote a review before I just felt like this needed to be said and I hope that things can change so I can enjoy my favorite restaurant again! read more
