Honestly, I wish I could leave a good review, but unfortunately that would require receiving the correct order and having a decent experience. I have nothing bad to say about the food itself, but the complete lack of attention to detail and the overall service were absolutely unacceptable. Having my order completely wrong is an inexcusable letdown. Rest assured, I will never be returning to this establishment again unless the world is literally ending--and even then, I'd seriously reconsider. I wouldn't trust this place with my last meal. Frankly, I'd rather get one from death row, because at least they seem capable of following instructions. Do better. read more

I'm a sandwich guy. Love most things between two slices of bread. McAllister's has consistently good sandwiches. Flavorful combinations of ingredients in appropriate sides. My only disappointment is they don't have a grilled Reuben, the bread is toasted, and it's just not the same. Overall, highly recommend it. read more

I've been going here for lunch ever since my coworkers brought sandwiches by McAlister's for events. I haven't been to other chains besides the one in Sumter and every time I go there, I enjoy their foods. When you walk in, you order at the front and you can either wait or sit down because the staff will bring you the order. Once you're done eating, leave the plates where you sat because staff goes around to clean it up and disinfect the area for covid mitigations. I've been always getting the black angus club, but with the baguette. It comes with a side and pickles, definitely my favorite sandwich choice from there. They also have catering options where you can purchase these lunchboxes that has a 6" sub, chips, and cookies. It's actually how I got to try McAlister's for the first time. I've heard of them for a while, but never got a chance to try it out. I definitely enjoy their food, so if you're looking for a causal meal, definitely recommend trying them out. I personally recommend the black angus sandwich. Also they have nutrition facts and nutrition facts calculator online so if you want to measure your caloric intake, now they let you! Great place! I got my usual grilled chicken sandwich (on the croissant) with a veggie spud. Unfortunately there wasn't hardly any rotel cheese on the potato and an unnecessary amount of greens on the sandwich (more greens than meat). They're usually on point. Eh, you can make a better sandwich at home for 1/4 of the price w/much more meat. We just got take out yesterday, 12/18/18, for lunch, my club sandwich had all the ingredients but barely any meat, like a slice which isn't acceptable nor like the picture. Wifes turkey w/guac she said was soggy and blah. I've had a Ruben before, not great - wasn't fully heated/cooked. Mac n cheese is blah, not good. McAlister's is a fine establishment. The lines for lunch can be a bit lengthy, so get their early or a little later than lunch rush. Their lunch is okay but their best asset is their chocolate chip cookies! They're soft and chewy and great for the soul. As for lunch, my three coworkers got their food before mine, and I ordered before them. But what that shows is that the food can come out as early as 10 minutes but as late as 20. My spud was cold and they had hardened up. The dumpling soup was incredibly thick... like it wasn't a soup, at all. My husband and I visited the Sumter SC McAlister's Deli today with a punched card to submit with our order. Chandler, our cashier was very accommodating and cordial. She informed me the punched arms were no longer accepted but she gave us a discount on our bill. We failed to order my husband a drink after we paid and she threw the drink in with no cost. She kept checking on us as we were enjoying our meal. She deserves a special recognition for her excellent customer service. Love this location. They are always so friendly. The food is awesome here. Really hard to pick a favorite. My top 3 are the King Club, New Yorker and the Rueben. All of these are massive and delicious. Everything is great here. The salads, soups (tortilla is my favorite) and potatoes are equally delicious as their sandwich counterparts. This place started out great and has steadily went down hill, I would have gave it a 5 stars for the first few months it was open, but both customer service and food quality have gone down to a 3 star level, but it is still very clean. The staff are just so-so not bad but far from the very helpful and friendly staff they used to have. prices are middle of the road not expensive but not cheap ether. read more

I ate inside Mcalister's Deli today for the first time since the Covid -19 happened and I was there for at least an hour. The food was good but I was very shocked that after customers left their table no one came to disinfect or even wipe down the tables before the next guest sat down. When I need a home cooked meal or some comfort food, this is where I go. I love that nothing is fried, everything is so fresh! So far everything I've tried has been delicious! One of my faves is the vegetarian chili, but there is a lot of beans in this. Last week I had the Caesar chicken wrap with the whole wheat wrap, so yummy :) Everyone that works there is cheerful and always have a big smile for you! The restaurant is always clean and the food is very good with a lot of variety. Absolutely perfect for lunch! So I used to come here all of the time; however, I didnt have the best customer service so I figured I'd distance myself. I came in on my way back from the beach, and I witnessed something that made it hard to hold my tongue. Ive worked in a restaurants, so I know what I expected from my employees. there was a male in this place with a gold chain and black glasses and a short haircut. He was around 5'11. He was NOT WEARING GLOVES and had his mask BELOW HIS MOUTH. I understand it's hot, but gloves should be on at all times and the mask should be worn. It's the policy while this pandemic occurs. I'm not talking about him changing gloves every half hour, because he didn't. The whole time I sat there, no gloves on. Touching things. Then, I was throwing my stuff away, and I witnessed him be really rude to this blonde haired girl. The girl had blue eyes, dangle earrings, and wore a weird green graduation ring. This girl took my order, showed me her favorites and knew about the menu. She was efficient and competent, and cleanly. She changed her gloves, was wiping down counters and things. Just always moving. When he snapped at that girl, everyone kind of looked at him surprised. That shows the LACK OF positive TEAMWORK, especially when this guy orders people around to do something he easily could have done to ensure efficiency. he was taking food out of the window, but didn't want to take it to the shelf to the to go spot so he snapped off at her and told her that it was her job to do while she was busy at the register fixing to help another customer. I'm so disappointed in my experience. The food was fine, but the pompous attitude was somewhat off putting. For someone who should have been an equal, he came off as an arrogant manager, and he needs to be reminded of his place. If you, as a business, want to portray a professional, positive, and customer-friendly atmosphere, then his behavior is completely contradictory and it has to be brought to someone's attention.
