I have not been to McAlister's Deli in years. When we went to a funeral in Tupelo for our co-worker's mom, we stopped here to get something to eat. I got a Black Angus Club with fruit and lemonade. The place was clean and we got a seat easily. After about 6 or so minutes, the head manager came up to my co-worker and said they had run out of pork. They offered to put chicken on his potato and he said okay. I thought my meal was good - had great flavor and the fruit was nice and cold. My co-workers liked their food too. We may not be back to this location because the four of us were coming from out-of-town for the funeral. However, if we are passing through Tupelo, we will come back. read more

I haven't been to McAlister's in years. I got the Rueben sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. The sandwich was really good put the tomato and cucumber wasn't my favorite. Everyone does it different and this wasn't for me. Next time I will just get chips. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we came but it was also raining that day. The staff was nice but after we orders they just stood around staring at my mom and I. I asked if I had something on my face or something, I didn't, so that was a bit off putting. read more

Wow. What a disappointment. I used to LOVE this place, but after today, I don't think I'll ever come back. The food is good, sure, but the service is downright atrocious. I had a takeout order, and the experience was pure chaos. First off, there were so many people up front, but somehow only ONE person was actually taking orders--but switching between workers so randomly that it was impossible to tell what was going on. The girl who checked me out (blonde wig, patting it constantly) was beyond rude. After paying for my meal, she just stared at me like I was supposed to read her mind. When I pushed for clarity, she essentially laughed in my face. She told me my name would be called, and I figured, fine, I'll wait. Even though I was on time. Well, 30 minutes went by as I sat RIGHT in front of them, and not a single person came to check on me or update me on my order. The entire front area was a disorganized mess with no leadership, no communication, and no respect for customers' time. It felt like no one had a clue what they were doing. Such a shame because the food here is great, but clearly, the staffing and management issues have destroyed this place. If you value good service, don't bother wasting your time. My wife called in an order from a parking lot nearby and picked it up at the drive through. When she ordered, it connected her to the automated order placement service, not an employee. It asked if she wanted sides with each sandwich and she confirmed. Then asked if she wanted a pickle with each sandwich and she also confirmed. The restaurant charged 3% for a phone in order and then left off both pickles. Charge you more, give you less. I guess It's the McAlister's way. read more

Patio area had several plates on tables. When we tried to place our order at counter, employee was EATING chips! He never spoke to us, just looked at us. He way over filled my drink, coke was coming out around the straw area, ended up spilling coke on floor. He rang my order in wrong, I received the wrong order. Very disappointing!!! read more

Great diverse menu from hot and cold sandwiches, at least 5+ soups a day, salads, pasta dishes - A local "Panara Bread" establishment. The Savannah Chopped salad with grilled chicken, Gorgonzola, cucumbers, tomatoes, roasted almonds and a shallot sherry dressing. I had the grilled chicken spud, a huge baked potato with grilled chicken, Jack cheese and tomatoes. I needed the carbs, so this huge spud delivered, I had to tAke half of it home for lunch the next day. The chicken was seasoned well, with hints of rosemary, garlic. The spud was baked well and delicious, with a side of sour cream. Great local deli with hot and cold sandwiches, soups, desserts and great service. read more

I've always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant and have ordered to-go several times over the years, but today, I didn't have a pleasant experience at all. I called trying to place a to-go order several times with no answer. I figured they were just busy as it was lunch time, so I called again for the 3rd time, and finally a guy answered the phone. I asked to place a to-go order, and was quickly, and rudely, answered with a "Well, you've got 20 people in front of you." Okay, and?? What does that even mean? That I can't place an order? Or that there's no need to? I frankly didn't know how to respond to that and just got off the phone. I understand that everyone is short-staffed and overwhelmed, but that is extremely bad customer service, and frankly pissed me, a customer that's given this place a lot of my money, off. read more

Since they moved into their new location, everything has been on pointe! Great food, clean, and service is top notch!

Good food....on par with all other McAlister's and so it seems they have the same inattentive service too. I had to give my order three times and wait the extra time while the staff had to have the manager come back to void out the first two mistakes they made. You can get good food at most chain restaurants but service as of late is really poor and this place only gets two stars for that reason. read more

Just had a terrible experience at the McAlister's in Tupelo, MS. Even though I ordered a Mcalister's club without mayonnaise, and observed a guy in the kitchen verbally tell the person preparing the sandwich, "No mayonnaise," I was served the sandwich with mayonnaise. After the sandwich was returned to the counter for correction, it was given back to me the second time still incorrectly prepared. Not only did the sandwich appear sloppy in presentation with very little lettuce, the sandwich now had bacon, which was also to he omitted. read more

I was just passing through Tupelo on my way to Georgia. We were staying at a hotel. I called to place a order, and this sweet young man advised if I wanted, just come to there location and pick up the to go order it would be quicker. So I get there, it was clean, and pleasant atmosphere. The workers was friendly. That same young man that answered the phone offered to carry my food out to the car for me. Honestly being really tired from traveling and in a unfamiliar town it was such a nice offer. I accepted. The food was amazing! Perfectly cooked.
