We've been here a few time over the last couple of years, primarily for the Trivia Night on Mondays, which been a great deal, since they offer bottomless wings and $1.50 drafts of Miller Lite and Bud light. We have a great time every time we come here, and it a good place to bring the kids on nights like this. Went here on the Friday before St. Patty's day ordered the fish and chips for my wife, corned beef and cabbage for me, we also got the BBQ pork egg rolls and jalapeño hoppers. The egg rolls were good. My wife's fish was decent. Her fries were cold, but the fish was decent. The poppers were pretty bad and the corned beef and cabbage was the worst corned beef and cabbage I've ever had. What kind of Irish pub can't make moderately decent corned beef and cabbage on the weekend of St. Patty's day. read more

Food was decent. I love bar food but the food here was just ok. I arrived at 6:45pm on a Tuesday night with a friend from out of town for a quick bite. We sat at a table away from the bar and the waitress (who seemed to be annoyed by us) walks up and states "you have to be 21+ to be here" Not a friendly hello or anything even close. We are both 28 years old and showed her IDs although we were not drinking and didn't even try ordering a drink. We simply just wanted a quick dinner. She seems very agitated by us for no one reason which made us feel very unwelcome and probably won't be returning anytime soon. read more

My buddy lives near here and introduced me to the establishment. I didn't have high expectations as when we pulled up I found out it was in a strip mall. Nothing negative about it, just I had never had great success from a bar that resides in a strip mall. Boy was I mistaken. Once inside, it felt like I had been there my whole life. I was greeted with a handshake and high fives as I was wearing my Walter Payton jersey. One guy even offered to by me a round. Their beer selection is good, better than I expected. We ordered some local craft beers and looked over the menu. WOW! Talk about a menu with options! Totally blew me away! I had a bowl of their chili and I must say it was REALLY good. just enough spice to here I didn't have to ask for hot sauce, but it didn't leave your mouth on fire. PERFECT heat. I had their Moo and Oink Burger (Angus burger topped with BBQ pulled pork) and I thought it was fantastic. I recommend this to anyone who wants a hearty burger that has great taste. The bartender was great and our server was phenomenal. The prices were decent and I hope to get back again in November. Here's why I give it a 4 star -- the food. For me they have good food and they have had it for at least 5 years. They might have new owners, like one yelper posted, but the food has stayed good. What I do is either eat there between 5-7 during the week or I get take-out. The prices are really reasonable, $9 for a half-slab of ribs, which I think are really good. $5 Burgers on Wednesdays and kids eat free on Wednesdays too! I know nothing about the place after 7:30ish or on the weekends in general, it might be a dive bar or a single person bar, or be rowdy like others have posted. Great burgers. I was there on a Saturday night for drinks and dinner. Service was not the greatest and it was busy but not swamped. Waitress not attentive to our group of 10 so that's why there is only a 3 stars here. I ordered a cheddar burger. I don't know what kind of beef or how they season it but it's absolutely delicious. Three kinds of fries waffle, regular and curly. They were good nothing special thou. The majority of our party ordered the burgers and ribs were really tender. This place is a little weird and hit or miss. I've had good food and just okay food. It's random, but they have like trivia and game nights during the week (not sure what day). I'm sure it's fun as it brings a lot of people in, but it also makes dinner service slow and it's sometimes hard to find a table. Plus, there are very few vegan and vegetarian options, but it's so easy to add a vegan pasta option and put a small marker to clarify that it is vegan. I have heard great things about the food and I am walking distance from them. Sadly I tried taking my daughters boyfriend here for his 21st birthday along with my son and my brother. The bartender poured some very weak drinks. I am not sure if it was a lack of knowledge on the pour or if it was an attempt to save money. I have been a bartender for over 20 years in Lincoln park and I must say they were the weakest drinks I have ever had. I don't know how you can screw up a Vegas bomb but he managed to do so. I want to like this place but they just keep letting me down! This time we went during a game, which is probably why the service was AWEFUL, but that does not excuse it. It took 18 minutes for our drink order to come out and they got it wrong. My bud light was a miller light. Waiting another 10 minutes before she came back to out table, i decided to just drink the beer. When she finally rearrived at the table, she said sorry but you drank out of it. Well YES MA'AM, its been over 20 minutes before I could get the right drink! Ah! We ordered medium well hamburgers and I got a rare. When I noticed that it was not cooked properly I decided to just chew through it because I did not want to wait what the waitress said would be another 10-15 minutes. It is after all rude to ask your date to wait for you while you get another burger. Oh yeah, it had cheese too, so I scraped it off. They could have asked the other 3 employees who were standing behind the bar by the entry way to maybe clean some tables or alleviate the long wait by actually doing their job and serve some tables, however at this point I have decided this has to be some spoiled rich kids present from daddy, cuz this place has horrible management. About a month ago, me and my girls came here to play some beer pong and relax after work. One waitress one bartender. The waitress said she was getting off had to work a double and was tired. So she made us close out with her and use the bartender. He was a horrible server. Though they were not busy, he kept getting us the wrong drinks and did not pay attention to us! On top of that, my girl Sam had her phone stolen by one of the guys who awkwardly were all over us at beer pong. Sam did not realize until the next day that it was gone. She got it back after seeing the same guys out at Tishs and called the cops. They assumed she had gps enabled on the phone so they admitted to stealing it at Mcbrides. The Joliet officer even told us that this is a ring that this has not the first time the same type of theft had happened there! So beware of your phones ladies, especially if you leave them in your purse. The guys there are gross. I have had the security and bartenders call me babe, hun, beautiful, mamma, sexy, and other machismo terms. This was the last time I will ever be back. I will stay in North Plainfield where I get service and do not feel like a need a scaulding hot shower after leaving. read more

We had a snow day from work so we decided to go out for lunch after the roads were cleared. Went with some friends to McBride's! The food was typical bar food. I ordered the Cuban, others had the moo & oink, spicy chicken wrap, and ruben. The only disappointment would have to be the burger on the moo & oink, it was bland, and dry. Found a groupon for this place and gave it a try. Typical pub atmosphere, the band was incredibly loud in a very small space but the food was FANTASTIC! Especially for bar food. I was pleasantly surprised. I felt like the food was a bit overpriced (even with the groupon) but the service more than made up for it. Very nice bartenders. Love this place!!! Went there once before and everything was so good. I had the pulled pork sandwich.. yummy. Yesterday we ordered carryout, I ended up ordering the pulled pork again. Still amazing. I also tried the spinach dip.. good but a little too creamy for my personal liking.. my bf ordered the 4 leaf clover.. defintiely good if you want a little bit of everything.
