I loved this little bar and grill. They been open I think like 40 years!! We went for the band on Sunday St. Jupiter's and they did not disappoint. The guy on the violin gave me goosebumps. Checked out this bar in Crest Hill. Gusto's is a longtime hangout for locals. It gets seriously busy when there's something like a Bears game on. A lot of cheap drinks. The food is pretty basic with everything being some fried stuff. Basically this place has been around a long time from the looks of it. It's got a pretty cramped parking lot surrounding it. The inside is full of sports memorabilia and winos. At least there's cheap drinks. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail, whiskey mixed with whatever. As for the food it's somehow popular. They have a massive burger on a pretzel bun that's the signature item they say. It's about $9 for appetizers. The mushrooms may be the healthiest thing you can get. Saw an advertisement for 75 cent wings and $7 burgers. We've been meaning to try Gustos, so off we went. There were no available tables inside so we found our way to the patio. We're not smokers. The patio is definitely smoker friendly, but that is expected. Anyway...if you want food you have to order at the bar. You either prepay, or run a tab and they hold your credit card. I prepaid. Food came out relatively quickly. The wings are delicious...love the thin cut celery. Onion rings are pretty good. Burger comes on a pretzel bun with real hand formed beef. It was cooked nicely. This place is a train wreck at best before the pandemic. Now it's even worse. They signed up for all these delivery apps, and are giving the hours of service for the BAR not the grill. Place order. Someone calls who says they don't have a cook and don't know how to cancel the order. Could I call the company for them? I want lunch, I want to be able to order this place for lunch, and I'm sure the people who are day drinking there need to have food so they don't get a DUI on their way home. I see so many people over served leaving this place and they had the balls to post a GoFundMe me. Their poor boys are amazing, the Buffalo mac and cheese is great if they remember to put it on the side and not next to the lose poor boy in the container and send it on its way. Unknown if the food is any good since my order was messed up, still waiting almost 30 minutes for chili cheese fries. Bartender ignored me for almost 10 of standing at bar. Took care of customer next to me then proceeded to help 5 other people. I finally had to ask her if I can get some service. Came for the bar bingo & I will never be back. I do not recommend visiting this place. Sanitation: I was sat at a dirty table with already used glassware from previous customers. The table was never cleaned up, not that it would have made a difference because the towel used to clean tables was also used to wipe a dirty ash tray. No cleaning agents were used nor a sanitizer bucket. I saw the sweaty waiter wipe his face with his hand and delivery beer bottles by holding them by the neck. And finally, none of the three servers were wearing face masks in midst of this Covid-19 situation. Service: In places of public accommodation such as this restaurant, you are not supposed to discriminate customers based on race, religion blah blah blah. But in this place, they asked me to prepay by credit card and they asked my nationality before being served. When I refused to answer, they asked again three more times. As I refused to answer, I was not served my food and they charged me for it. Prices: This restaurant does not publish its pricing online, nor on the restaurant menu or on the bill. Nice dive bar!! I'm a fan of dive bars and this one hits everything I love. They have live music regularly and the band they had tonight sounded amazing and not to loud where you can't order a beer, it was perfect. They have open mic nights on Sunday with a band called SilverCreek. The band sings great classic rock and hard country songs and then other musicians can get up and play with the band. It's so fun to watch. Gustos is also a very dart friendly bar. They have four dart boards and have regular tournaments. Food is really good for a dive bar. I was surprised I have to admit. They have an outside patio that's covered in the winter. So if you like going outside to have a drink, you can. I think I found myself a new regular place to grab a drink. read more

This is a old style neighborhood shot and Beer bar. Nothing, and I mean nothing, fancy. But good beer specials and great food. Not sure where they get it, but cooked on sight, must try the gusto burger. Even has an egg on it. Be nice to the bar tenders they will make you feel right at home as if you come in every day.
