I wanted to love this place, but just couldn't. I visited on a Friday just as they opened. We walked in and were shown to a small but clean table. The building is very "rustic" but the heat was but able to overcome the chill in the air, so we keep our coats on the whole time. This place is very well setup to host a band and has outdoor seating. The poor servicer was very over worked as we moved through our meal the restaurant filled to capacity very quickly. She tried hard but it was easy to tell she was overwhelmed at times, this led to a delay in simple things like refills and food deliveries. To finish the over ambiance the lunch crowd were all older and very load. This made the experience bad for me. Everyone was yelling at once making it hard to order and get things. The food was good to ok. But a bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. I did order from this restaurant through Uber Eats, and what I'm going to talk about is the order and the delivery. We ordered our food at around 2:30 PM. According to the receipt, the order was picked up at around 2:48 PM. 1--Our order did not arrive until 3:56 PM, which I thought was odd, because it only takes about 30 minutes tops, to get from the restaurant to our home, but I gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe the delivery driver was delivering other orders. I say that, but honestly, I don't know if the food was hot when it left the restaurant, but I do know that it was ice cold when it arrived at my home. 2--When I unpacked the order, almost half of the order was either completely missing or was ill-prepared. I ordered a Pork Chop Sandwich. I said in the order that we have cheese and shellfish allergies. Tell me why the Pork Chop Sandwich had pepper jack cheese completely melted on it? Also, the Pork Chop was clearly cooked in week-old grease, if the accompanying fries and onion rings had anything to say about it. Also, one-half of the Pork Chop sandwich was mostly fat. Fat cooked in old grease, with what seemed like old seasoning, is not a good combo. Lastly, like I said previously, all of the food we received was ice cold, which made the old grease taste on the fries and onion rings far worse. Obviously, I didn't eat the sandwich, and I couldn't finish the half-n-half fries and onion rings. In conclusion, I will be hard-pressed to visit this restaurant again if some changes aren't made, but I can say that my previous experience was bad. read more

Drink & Live Music - Sure! Dinner - No Group of us decided to try McB's for dinner recently and, unfortunately, it won't happen again. We started off with a few appetizers and here I'll give them some credit. The wings actually seemed to be somewhat fresh and came out hot. They were the only thing we enjoyed about our meal. My shrimp was definitely microwaved. Probably precooked and then microwaved to order. And not was good the night before so microwaved they are tolerable. They were bland and so rubbery I could barely cut them with a fork. The fries were the same. Definitely microwaved. My husband got the chicken fried steak and barely touched it. We all left most of our meals uneaten. But now we know. Service was friendly, albeit slow - but they were more concerned with the bar patrons which I get. Not a good night out. When entering we tried two tables in the main seating area and they both wobbled on all 4 legs. We then decided to go to the back room because of the table and because the singer was so loud people were having to holler to have a conversation. I ordered the large blue cheese bacon burger. Mcbs brags about their hand made wine burgers that go back to the original owner from 1982. My burger was delivered to me with no bacon. The burger is nothing like the new owners advertise. The half pound hand made wine burger was actually a 1/4 pound, frozen, shaped and pressed piece of something called burger...who really knows. I do know that I have had the wineburger beginning in 1989 when we moved here and tonight's burger was definitely not it, buyer beware. Definitely a country bar, but I like those. The waitress was very friendly. They were out of like three different beers we asked for but then we ended up trying a new beer which was good. It was a blueberry saltwater one. It was pretty cheap at $4. My friend had the wings and he said they were good but almost unedible due to spice. I had the jalapeno poppers which were delicious and had a lot of cream cheese. There's karaoke on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you're interested. Stopped by because I was told that this place was supposed to have the best burgers in town, being new to the area I figured I would give it a shot. Well, not sure if my food was just a fluke or not but I have honestly have been served better food on an airplane. What I was given here was over cooked, under flavored wad of meat in a bun. I read here that this place started as a small beer joint and if this food was any indication, they should have stayed that way. You are better off just ordering a bottled beer or a whiskey neat, as it is almost impossible to mess that Up. At least the waitress was polite. My first visit to McB's will be my last. I ordered their chicken breast sandwich. On the menu it stated this was grilled chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayonnaise. Ok, great, a pretty standard chicken sandwich - so that was what I ordered. The waitress even made sure I wanted everything that was listed, I said yes I did want the lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo just as it was written on the menu. What I received however was an open face sandwich with chicken, mushroom, bell pepper and cheese. I called her back over and said I received the wrong order. She then told me that is how they do their grilled chicken sandwich. I explained that was not what the menu stated, as I would never have ordered an item that contained ingredients that I did not like and/or was allergic to. She argued with me that this was how they do it. I asked well why would you ask me if I wanted the lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo if those things do not come on your 'grilled chicken'? I asked to see a menu. The waitress read it out herself and indeed read out out loud "lettuce, onion, tomato and mayo". Then she said yeah the other ingredients are not listed. We have had complaints before about this. No kidding? Imagine that. Someone ordered what the menu states is 'chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo' and you bring them 'chicken, mushroom, bell pepper and cheese' and tell them 'that's how we do it'. ABSURD doesn't cover it really. Then the waitress said she would bring me the meal I ordered and 'your meal will be comped'. Ok, so she did bring me the sandwich, no onion by the way, but I did not dare ask her to fix it. When it came time to pay, my meal was NOT comped at all. She tossed me a piece of lousy pie that I would not have ordered and would not eat as a 'sorry for the misunderstanding'. I had no misunderstanding. I read the menu, I placed my order THEY did not provide what their own menu listed. Then, LIED about comping my meal and charged me for it tossing me a stale old piece of pie I did not want. I did not expect the meal to be comped. They finally brought me the correct meal and I ate it. HOWEVER when you TELL ME you will comp my meal and then you CHARGE me anyway - you lost a customer and gained someone who will tell everyone possible about how disgustingly I was treated. I can't stand liars. Don't lie that you will comp a meal and then decide not to, and say "sorry" with some old stale pie nobody wanted (which is clearly why they decided to throw me that rather than comping the meal as promised). The fact that they brought out my corrected meal so fast makes it clear that chicken was already cooked. I am sure they pulled it off the sandwich they first sat down in front of me. Given that I have an allergy it is lucky they did not kill me. I can not ever recommend this place. Below average food, and lies. no concern at all for customers and arguing with me when I order something from the menu and question why I was delivered a completely different meal. Pathetic.
