My son and I visited on a Wednesday night. Sadly, they did not have live music this night, but the weather was so nice we sat in the outside bar area and the music over the speakers was pleasant and not too loud. We ordered a dozen oysters, 8 chargrilled, and 4 with a bacon jam topping. They were so good that I forgot a picture. My son ordered their seafood pasta and I ordered the shrimp po-boy with sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent! I hope to come back when they have a live band and just enjoy some oysters and drinks. Don't let the fact that this is a bar, fool you into thinking it will be frozen bar food. Nope! I came to this establishment at 7:40pm on 2-15-24 because they have good service and good food, but this particular day I left the establishment in tears and very upset, my husband and I walked in and was great by a unknown guy with a blue shirt and a lady and the security guard, another person was walking couple was walking and and the guy yelled out loud,get out the way the handy caps are coming through and I said what did you say and he said I fucking said move out the way the handy cap is coming through, I did park in the particular parking spot but I do have papers and the sticker belong to me. He was saying all sorts of things to me as my husband was already in the establish I was so mad I told him let's leave and not eat here, I called the establish twice and was left on hold for lengthy time both times. I do not recommend this place to any of my black ppl are my handicap people at all. Trashy, dangerous, rude staff, predators First off the woman taking covers at the door was drunk. Escorted my gf out to grab something from the car because as i found out once inside there have been shootings in the parking lot. My girl made it in before me and when i reached her they were charging her a 2nd cover stating 'she was given a refund and needed to pay again' When i explained the situation and that she never had a refund (who gives refunds on cover charges) they played stupid and when i told them they were scamming women who had been drinking the bouncer made the mistake of trying to grab my shoulder. The service was horrible. The cocktails were disgusting. The staff looked like they had been hired straight out of the rehab clinic. Do not take your family here. Kim the waitress, she put her finger in my drink to remove a bug then proceeds to give me the drink to drink AFTER HER FINGER AND A BUG was in it. My total at the end of the night was 39.07. The following day KIMM decides to add a 7.81 tip to my ticket. The manager on duty that night was NOT HELPFUL and acted as if I was in the wrong. However I did speak with a nice gentleman Robby I believe was his name who said that he will refund the 7.81. *which I'm still waiting on* Robby told me she put gratuity on my ticket. My husband & I came in this past Tuesday to eat lunch. This was our first time there & loved it! Of course we were there with the bad weather moving through but stayed put. The atmosphere is comfortable and the waitress that took our order was the best! We both ordered off the lunch menu and the fried chicken was hands down the best! We will be coming back and have told friends they should go give it a try because we enjoyed our lunch & the customer service was appreciated because where ever we go to eat or pick up... customer service is out the window! My friends and I usually have a good time here. They have a few pool tables which my friends enjoy playing. The live bands they have there are usually pretty good. There's an outside area and an inside area, both areas usually have their own separate band or deejays playing two kinds of music. There's a small dance floor inside. This place is a bar, not a club so don't expect a big dance floor. Food is what you usually get at a bar, MEH is the most I can say about it. Lots of parking space, good crowd of people, but isn't super diverse. They have a huge costume party every year, we definitely love coming here during Halloween! read more

The oysters were RANK! I was so disappointed! I haven't been to Shuckers in so long and have always LOVED the oysters there! These oysters were so foul smelling and they still served them! There WAS NO WAY they didn't smell them before cooking, after cooking or even while serving. The smell was so awful it RUINED my entire appetite! They did remove them from my bill but I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED that something that smelled so BAD WAS STILL SERVED TO ME! I are two thinking maybe it was just the smell but then I was so nervous I may have just poisoned myself that it ruined my meal and my night! BUT BEFORE THAT HAPPENED!!! The service was great! The drinks were excellent and the staff was awesome!!! I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews on this place. I was brought here by a longtime friend who frequents this place often. The service was great and the lakefront scene was inviting, although it was fall and not summer, which I can imagine being muggy. Still, the open air atmosphere led to a memorable experience filled with sweet tea, shellfish and seafood, all of which were good, affordable and would warrant a return next time I'm in the neighborhood. We started with chargrilled oysters which were cooked well and tasted great. I had the red fish with black eyed peas and mashed sweet potatoes and enjoyed every bite. It rivaled many of the same dish I had in the New Orleans area and was much cheaper ($16 vs more than $25). The fish tasted fresh and was moist. I'm not sure how anyone could complain about their experience here. It's a great place to come with friends and have appetizers and a few drinks, lunch or dinner or to hang out with friends for a few hours. The view rivaled the food. read more

Food is good but the Manager Bret and server Katie customer service is horrible. I just tried to order a meal I get all the time over the phone and was met with attitude. So I tried to come in and speak with a manager to get some clarity and more attitude and push back. I order the same meal everytime I eat here which is for both lunch and dinner. I always get onion rings as my side with the understanding that there is an up charge to do so for dinner. I told both of them that I was fine paying the up charge just place the order only for them to repeat that there is either an upcharge or it comes with fries. I showed the manager my receipt showing I was just her last week for dinner purchasing the same meal and was told they messed up because they were able to place my order properly. I ultimately left without purchasing anything because of the customer service and was actually told by the manager I should have stayed home simply because I was trying to give Shuckers my 20 dollars read more

I used to love Shucker's but this place is just sad now. The oysters were tiny and the mahi and shrimp club sandwich was very disappointing. The fish was too salty, the shrimp weren't fresh, and calling a sandwich a club doesn't make it a club sandwich. It was not worth $12 and not only will I never order it again, but I doubt I will ever go back to Shucker's. read more

This place was great! We were visiting from California and were looking for a food local place with great food and great drinks. They delivered for sure. I will say that since we've been in Mississippi everyone has been beyond cordial as far as the attitude. This place was not quite as good in that venue but the drinks and through you are amazing. Horrible birthday experience My boyfriend and I went here on Friday April 22, 2022 for my birthday, we love raw oysters. We will usually eat at least 6 dozen oysters and my boyfriend will drink beer (5 or more) I'm the DD. But we didn't eat our normal amounts because of the following and don't plan to return and will advise our friends to go elsewhere too. I'm very sad about this but also very upset! On my birthday it was very hard to get a server to wait on us, we constantly had to wave down any server we could find as our waitress was hardly around. It was not busy at all, which was unusual for a Friday night, maybe because it was still early. When we finished with the first dozen we had to wait 15 min to get our waitress so we could order another dozen and another beer. We enjoy horseradish with our oysters and use a lot of it. Instead of just bringing a desent amt ( and save money by not wasting plastic ramakins) especially when she saw how much of it we eat. But she would bring at most 2 plastic ramakins with a amount no bigger than a dime in each one at a time. We also informed her that we don't eat the crackers so please don't bring any but they were included anyway I had to ask for napkins and a damp cloth to wipe our hands with (since oysters are a finger food) waitress said she could bring some napkins then just looked at me. I was getting irritated and asked for a glass of water then ( to dip napkins in to wipe our hands with). We also ordered a garden salad (costs more than dinner salad) and red beans and rice which also took a long time to get them (15-20 min). Again we usually just order oysters and beer and ice tea which usually costs us a easy 120.00 or more when we're finished. We waited a unreasonable amt of time from a restaurant that wasn't busy at 6 p.m. to get a second dozen oysters and we were hungry and it was obvious that we weren't gonna get our oysters anytime soon . So we decided to eat something else and then leave. Our waitress never cleared our table of used items ( at least 25 - 30 used ramakins) several used napkins and a ton of unopened cracker's and a empty beer bottle. Our table looked like a homeless camp area! I discovered that the manager on duty was named Tony and I asked to talk to the person but no one ever came to us. I'm very dissatisfied with the service and currently won't return. The management needs to properly train their server's as I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had a horrible experience but maybe the only one to write about it. The only 2 good things about my birthday here was great tasting oysters ( when we could get them) and the young man who was playing his guitar and singing. From, a very upset customer. If I could vote 0 stats l stars, I would. I couldn't decide which was worst at first, the service or the food. While the service was non-existent, the food was absolutely disgusting! The oyster sampler was not fit to eat. Actually looked scary of week old shucked oysters. I still can't get that taste out of my mouth, which is making me sick to my stomach. The shrimp poboy was not good and the seafood basket looked like something that would be served in a school lunchroom, not $17. Shucker's was on our list of places to try last weekend while in Mississippi. As soon as we walked up onto the large spacious patio and saw two men setting up their guitars we knew we were in for a good afternoon. Our waitress was a sweet southern belle and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We ordered half a dozen raw oysters followed by the sampler of various oysters cooked in various ways. All of the food tasted delicious except for one BIG no-no. There was shell in more than half of the oysters that I was served. I understand that it happens from time to time, however if it happened more than half the time it's time to hire a new shucker. It was extremely disappointing. This place looks like it might rock during the summer months, being outside of a marina and cabin/camping area. There is a pretty large outdoor seating area. The inside seating is also ample, but the inside looks primarily like a bar. There is a large rectangular bar with plenty of seating and flat screen TVs. Seating other than the bar is a mixture of regular and high boy tables. There are also at least two pool tables. We were pretty hungry when we got there and seated ourselves at the bar. The bartender was quick to take our order and suggested Grilled Mushroom appetizer and/or nachos when we told him how hungry we were. We elected for Grilled Mushrooms and Hot Tamales. Both were YUMM! I really wanted baked/grilled oysters, so we decided to split an Oyster Sampler (3 ea. of Oysters Bienville, Parmesan, Rockefeller, and Barnett [shrimp and mozarella]); 6 Chargrilled Oysters; and 6 Black and Bleu (Baked in Blackened seasonings with Fresh Crumb Bleu Cheese). The oysters were small to med. in size, but the flavors were really good. The only complaint I had was that the Barnett oysters were cold compared to the others. Perhaps we should have ordered all the oysters seperately instead of all at the same time. We missed happy hour, but drink prices were good anyway... $2.25 draft and $4 wine. read more

This is my first Yelp review and I think it's very well deserved!!! Went to this place on a Saturday night as a surprise date to eat oysters with my guy. Not pleased with the service(or lack of) at all. The guy taking the money was not pleasant enough to put our cash or license back in our hand. We ended up leaving the restaurant without seeing a hostess or waitress at all after 15 minutes. After waiting, we walked and picked our own table(not sure if that's the way the restaurant is set up or not) only to find the tables dirty and lacking menus. We sat at our table and waited and still never saw a server. Fox News was playing on every other television. Literally. Finally, after waiting for another 10-20 minutes without seeing a server, we left. No one tried to find out why we were leaving so soon. Not even the guy taking the money at the door. Our small group of six stood in the entry for at least five minutes with no employee in sight we finally were approached by a customer and she told us we might as well sit down where ever.
