We had such an awesome time here at the pumpkin patch/ theme park and the haunted farm afterwards! Aside from kind of getting lost Trying to find our way to this place, (two very long u-turns back to Edgewood) we were pleasantly surprised by the layout and friendly staff! We walked in expecting a pumpkin patch and got so much more! There were cool rides, slides, well built buildings my that caught my dads eye cuz he's always analysing architecture and rides lol there is food, and bakery shops along with a cute gift shop! My pop really enjoyed the apple cannons and looked like a kid laughing at the rest of us with terrible aim. Everyone loved the pig races which come with s cute skit and character hosts! The haunted attractions at night blew us away. We are used to universal horror nights and knotts scary farm that we weren't expecting too much in rural Moriarty. Boy were we wrong! We brought our nephews here for their first haunt experience and one of em even tried faking a butt cramp he got in "gym class" which was debunked cuz my bro-in-law knew for a fact the kid doesn't even take gym! overall, The effects and design were superb and the scares were professional grade. Drove into town to spend the night at the haunted barn and corn maze at McCalls pumpkin patch with my family. First let me state that my family lives outside of Belen and so the drive alone is almost enough to get you irritated. By the time we got there, we could see the line of traffic from the freeway, haha... We sat in a line of cars for an hour and a half just trying to get into the parking lot. One of my family members who finally got to the parking lot said there were so many people there, and that by the time that we joined them it would be 10 pm already, and they would be closed. We decided to just leave... Because we were not g ping to stand in line outside in the cold for another hour just to get into the pumpkin patch for 20 minutes... What a shame, because I really like McCalls pumpkin patch. I normally go every year, but this is the first year I went for the haunted spooky farm and corn maze...maybe if YOU decide to go, try going earlier!!! read more

This place was sadly a huge waste of both time and money. We had purchased tickets in advance to save time, but we spend OVER 40 MINUTES waiting on the road directly in front of the space just to get INTO the parking lot. By the time we finally were able to park and meet up with the rest of the family, we had to go immediately to the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins, because otherwise we would have missed the last ride out to the field. So, then we waited in another long line, worthy of airport security just to get on a tractor pulled wagon to get out to the pumpkin field. So - we finally picked our pumpkins and then get into the NEXT LINE to wait to be driven back to pay for our pumpkins, where we get into... yes, of course, ANOTHER LINE. So we finally get through the line and pay for the most expensive and time consuming pumpkins ever when you consider what we paid on the entrance fee and then we're not even allowed to go to the restroom before taking our pumpkins out to the car. So - we shlep the pumpkins ALL the way out to where we were parked in ROW TURKEY, appropriately, and then have to wait in ANOTHER LINE TO GET BACK IN where the rest of my family are waiting. They're going to be closing soon by that point, and we're seen NOTHING but the pumpkin field, so we try to do a quick walk and see some of the attractions and take some pictures. I try to get a picture of my 70 year old parents in front of one of the old picturesque trucks and some cranky old man comes up with a rope and tries to stop us from taking a picture AT THE TRUCK WE'RE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF WITH MY PHONE/CAMERA ALREADY RAISED. He tries to stop us saying he has to rope off this section. Not a section 100 feet away, right were were are currently trying to take a picture which was basically ALL WE HAD TIME TO DO BECAUSE WE WAITED IN SO MANY LONG SLOW LINES! We left exhausted angry and frustrated at having driven two hours PLUS THE 40+ MINUTES WAITING TO PARK to really not even get to experience the place. Never again. read more

Great pumpkins great time for fun and family and right at the foot of the Sandia Mountains in Moriarty New Mexico

We originally had planned to go to the patch the last weekend of September but we're unfortunately rained out. Tickets were $15/person. So before you've even entered you're already $32(taxes included) deep. Not to mention every little thing to do for kids cost money! The only free things are the maze and pumpkin patch. I was actually impressed by the pricing for the pumpins; we bought a small one and a medium pumpkin for $5! Ultimately I'm not entirely sure this is a pumpkin patch I would go to year after year. We went with some friends, but ultimately felt like it was an overpriced experience. It had a whole weird princess area for "makeovers" and even the pig races felt needlessly gendered! I went at night for the maze and haunted house. It was fun to go with a group of friends! But if you don't like waiting you need need need to plan ahead. We were stuck in traffic for almost an hour and waited about 3-4 hours to have our cards called. So go early or go late. Buy your tickets online too, that way you don't have to wait in another long line. And if you don't like spending a lot of money and waiting in lines, eat before you go lol plan ahead! I'm torn between a 3 star and a 4 Star review. On one hand, McCall's is a bit spendy BUT it is definitely a fun way to spend a beautiful fall day. Once you've paid to get in, the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch are incredibly low priced. The corn maze is fun to find your way through, and there are a lot of fun activities for kids. Then there's nighttime when they have a haunted corn maze and a haunted barn. I hated this part because I was absolutely terrified but I suppose that's a major plus if you're looking to be scared. read more

We went to McCall's for the first time a couple of weekends ago. We went with some friends who have a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old and we of course brought Baby B who was 9 months at the time. We all had a great time. As we were leaving we all agreed that McCall's had to become an annual tradition. We arrived to McCall haunted farm at 6:45 pm, bought our tickets/wristbands, and proceeded to wait over three and a half hours for our turn "card" to come up. Although you pay a $30+ entrance fee per person they expect you to pay to participate in other activities while you are there for hours on end. The food was over priced and COLD. All I can say is very poor management. They say no refunds so if you expect to not spend the better part of the night and most likely into early morning don't bother to drive to Moriarty and spend your money there! I went with a few kids from a high school youth group. We arrived shortly after 7 waited two hours to purchase tickets, our entrance cards were 9 of hearts, then when we went to check out the entrance to the haunted corn maze and they were on 4 of hearts. An hour later they were on 5 of diamonds. I asked the kid how it worked, he said they started with the number and then went diamonds, clubs, hearts, then spades. So, in an hour they went from the 4 of hearts to the 5 of diamonds, at 10:30 they were still on the 5 of clubs. At that rate we would have had to wait until 2:30 or 3:00 AM to start the maze. Completely unreasonable. I went to management to complain and request a refund and their response was we have a sign that states no refunds. Hmmm, I wonder why! They don't care about unhappy patrons just getting their money. I explained that I would write terrible reviews for the newspaper and websites and he asked shy I was threatening him. That isn't a threat but a consumer right yo let others know about a bad experience. I was giving them the opportunity to reconsider their policy. I stated the cashier should warn snout the wait times before accepting their money and cresting a bad situation. While this was going on the other groups were waiting to complain as well. One elected to pay snow additional $15 per person for VIP entrance, no waiting that is. Sounds like highway robbery to me so your choice is wait all night, walk away without wasting more money, or pay their bribery fee of snow additional $15 bucks a head. This is our favorite pumpkin patch to go to by FAR! We have boy/girl twins and there is SO much for us to do as a family here. Our favorites are the giant jumping pillows, the corn box, the tall slides, and of course the kettle corn! We come in the morning and stay for hours. It's our favorite thing to do all year! The last thing we do is take a hay ride out to the patch to pick out our pumpkins. If you go early in October the pumpkins will be fantastic, ripe, and still on the green vine. MONEY HUNGRY PIT, just like other people have described it. We came for the very first time and were so extremely disappointed! After waiting in line for an hour to get admission to the corn maze, our 3 kids and us walk over to the entrance and are told that it will be at least 3 hours before we can enter. It is 39 degrees out here! They have people in this ridiculously cold weather waiting for HOURS to get into anything. The food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced on top of it all. When we walked over to the cashier their manager came over and barked at us that there are no refunds, and that you cannot come back on another day. When we explained that one of us was sick and could not be exposed to these temperatures for so many hours, they called over the Sheriffs officials who not only told us to leave in a terrible manner, but blatantly called us assholes over and over in front of everyone, only because we asked for a refund, really Mcall's? I went here with our 1 year solo. We had a blast, but it would have been more fun with an extra set of hands. We got their early before it was really crowded. This place has the typical pumpkin patch features - corn pit, bounces, play areas, pig race, pumpkin patch, lots of food/snacks for sale, petting farm, wild west town for kids, etc. I was thinking for $13 a pumpkin would be included, and I was wrong. They have a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, but you pay for the pumpkin by the lbs. I wish I would have known that before we went because I would have purchased a pumpkin earlier. I have been taking my kids to McCall's since the early 2000's. It has changed a lot over the years - they've added a lot of things to do and it's become a bit commercialized. And it's a huge money suck!!! But, the kids like coming here and I'm a sucker. With that being said, I do have some complaints that have bothered me the past few years. This place ends up costing us a fortune - so if a business is going to get my hard earned money, then they better be up to par. The food is awful: it really has gone downhill. This year (2018) we ordered a hot dog, french fries, a loaded baked potato, nachos, and a giant pretzel from the BBQ place (about $35 for everything). Every single thing was very cold! The loaded baked potato had what appeared to be meat - perhaps pork? Turkey? And it was dried out and hard. I had to scrape it off. The french fries were over fried and cold inside. The hot dog wasn't bad. We also got an Old Fashioned soda in the commemorative tin cup ($7.50 for one cup!) . As my little and I were drinking something sharp stabbed my thumb and stuck into it - it was a metal shaving from the cup! So watch out for that. The Fudge Shop - fudge is great as long as you scrape off the top: we walked in and as I was already ordering I noticed the three teen girls behind the counter swatting half-heartedly at about a dozen flies that kept landing on the fudge. The fudge just sits behind a plastic shield and is open air. Gross. (Flies regurgitate bacteria when they land!) I'm sure when no customers are in the store they could not care less about swatting the flies. I'm surprised the health department hasn't gotten on them about this. Yuck~!!!!!! The Sweet Shop cookies are terrible. Don't bother. And the Kettle Corn - usually my favorite - had so many old maids stuck in with the popcorn that four times I bit down and thought I'd cracked my tooth - I finally gave up and threw it out. The bottled water that they sell is branded as their own and I noticed it's sourced in Moriarty NM - which would explain the dirt taste. I live in Edgewood NM (just 7 miles to the west) and the entire area is known for crappy, undrinkable water. Bring your own water. This place is definitely NOT budget friendly - everything is way too expensive (4 subpar 2" chocolate chip cookies for $4.99??? 6 pieces of fudge with fly barf on it $15!! They even make you pay to feed the goats ($2.00 for a tiny ice cream cone of food). If this wasn't a family tradition, I doubt we'd go back. My last one will be past this kind of place in a few short years and I doubt we'll ever go after that. The McCalls have just gotten too greedy. Oh and the LOUD OBNOXIOUS music that they blare all over the park - PLEASE STOP!!!! It's not bad with some nice country music - appropriate. But inevitably some crappy rap/hip hop music comes on and it's in your ears everywhere. I don't know why they feel the need for the music to begin with. If you go to the evening stuff, you will wait in long lines. This place was fun back in 2008 and before. But now it's just overpriced. read more

Visited McCall's Pumpkin Patch on 10/12/2014 with my boyfriend. We are from out of town (California) and I yelped pumpkin patches in Albuquerque and this one came up as one of the only ones to visit. Reminded me of a place back home called Bate's Nut Farm in Valley Center, CA and that's why I decided to go. I was a little hesitant to pay the admissions fee due to the fact that I had never had to pay to get into a pumpkin patch before but I couldn't resist the yearly activity of going and picking my own pumpkin for Halloween. Sunday was a rather cold day in Albuquerque and in Moriarty, it was the same. It took us about an hour to get to the patch from our house (Northwest Albuquerque) but the instructions provided on McCall's website were very helpful. The organization and friendliness of the staff made my boyfriend and I feel as if we were on a friend's ranch and not at a public attraction. I personally loved the fact that everything was separated out, labeled with signs and very welcoming. We took on the challenge of the Corn Maze. The design and dedication blew us away. That corn maze was astonishing and super fun! Next, we enjoyed the Pig Races until the rain started and the show ran short. We continued to walk through the main area observing the Petting Zoo, Food Stands, Corn Chucking, Duck Races, Slides, Bunny Farm and much more. After the rain stopped, we hopped on the Hayride leading to the Pumpkin Patch itself to get what we came for. My boyfriend and I were speechless by the size of the pumpkins that we found. We had heard that the pumpkins had ranged from $2-$10 in price and we were convinced that we had picked out $10 each. We didn't care though, they were enormous. We checked out at the store and found out that our pumpkins only cost $6 each! We looked at each other in disbelief. Overall, I felt at home at McCall's and wouldn't of wanted it any other way. I would gladly go back, on a day less rainy and cold but the weather didn't stop me from having a good time! Next time I will be sure to try some old fashioned soda or cider and of course their home made fudge. I would recommend McCall's to everyone in the surrounding area. Yes, I know an hour drive just to get pumpkins can be quite expensive for some, but you only do it once a year, live a little. We had a great day trip for the children/grandchildren. Wear good walking shoes and take your own water (and food if you can)! You have to pay admission, for food/drinks, for the rock mining and the pumpkins. It is a bit pricey, imho. The hay ride takes you out to field to pick a pumpkin, I recommend taking a big bag or something to carry the pumpkin back, there are no helpers to help you carry the heavy pumpkins. The corn maze is not so great for the smaller children, maybe just a little peek or to #1 or #2 Station, but great for teens, pre-teens. My biggest complaint is that the pumpkins rotted within 2-3 days. I wouldn't buy the pumpkins there, too much work and they didn't last at all. read more

I can't express this enough. If you plan to go to McCalls Haunted barn/corn maze be prepared to be there for hours. I arrived at 5:45pm to an already 50+ people in line for the 6:15pm ticket window to open. Online ticket sales showed "all sold"by 1pm that afternoon. The ticket window didn't open until 6:45ish. We were each given an assigned card of (7 hearts) and told to watch the screens in the designated areas around the attractions displaying our card(7 hearts).At this point it's after 7:30pm. Note: every guest that purchases a ticket is assigned a card pertaining to the deck of cards. This is the system implemented to regulate how many people enter the barn and corn maze. it sounds great right!....WARNING, it isn't. From 7:30pm until midnight...close to 5 hours!... Myself and my friends went through the Barn. It's after midnight, adrenaline is rushing, we are excited, can't wait to enter, only to clearly witness employees inside the barn exhausted. Not to mention had no energy to even try to scare us. The crew seemed to check out...So disappointing Mccalls... I'm not complaining about the time spent there waiting because McCalls does mention on there website the expected wait time can be up to 4hrs. I'm not complaining about prices because everyone has the choice to walk away and spend there money else where. Bottom line, there's plenty to offer from food, drinks, music and a dance floor. Just PLEASE, PLEASE CHANGE the system you have with the deck of cards....it's aweful!...and maybe hire additional employees to switch out after so many hours so groups and guests that have been waiting 5 or more hours get the excitement and experiences we all paid for no matter what time it is. read more

Usually I don't leave reviews, especially bad ones, but McCall's has changed and not for the better. It is a total money pit. We got there around 7:30 pm wanting to visit the regular corn maze, as we had done in years past. We were told only the haunted maze was available, so we decided to try it since we came for the maze anyway. We were told it would be a two hour wait, again, we thought that would be ok, McCall's is busy. We went and got some food, and walked around the gift shop. After an hour waiting it started to get cold so we went to the fire pits. It cost $50 extra to use them!! Not willing to spend more money, we found a hay bail and just hung out. Another hour passes, and our number was still not up on the screen so we decided to wait in the car to at least warm up. After passing numerous teenagers getting drunk in the parking lot we made it back to the car and waited another hour. On our way back toward the maze we were sure our number would be up, after waiting 3 hours for a 2 hour estimate. We got to the corn field and our number was still not even close to being called. After talking to the lady admitting people, she told us "yea, it will be about a two hour wait." Seriously?? 5 hours just to go through the corn maze???? We left after that and will not be back. There are no refunds, tickets are only good the night of, and it was a waste of time and money. TL:DR Place is a money pit and we will never go back. We spent over $80, didn't go through the maze like we had paid for, no refunds, ridiculous wait times, and you have to pay extra for the fire pits. read more

Do not take your children to this establishment. It is a waste of time and money. Simply frustrating. Below is the email I sent this morning. I would like to provide you feedback of my recent visit to your establishment. On Saturday, October 17, 2015 I took my family of 5 to visit the pumpkin patch. I did not expect to pay $14 per person and not be able to walk away with a pumpkin for each of my 3 children. When we approached the hayride the line was quite long. We patiently waited in line and as we neared the front of the line I learned I would also have to purchase a pumpkin for each of the kids. By this point I had already promised them that we would get a pumpkin and so I was forced to spend another $15 on small pumpkins. After the hayride the kids played in the log cabin for about 10 minutes and decided to attempt the maze. We walked around the maze for well over an hour trying to decipher a completely useless map. Finally, my 6 year old needed the restroom and we were forced to follow other frustrated guests through the rows of corn not intended to be an exit. The kids wanted to ride the pedal bikes but the lines were too long. They wanted to ride the slide. We stood in line for over 20 minutes and opted not for a second go round. They wanted to ride the train but there again your establishment wanted more money. We attempted to buy some over priced lunch but again the line was far too long. In short our three hours at your pumpkin patch cost me $100 and were nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. What I learned after visiting your pumpkin patch is that there is another patch not far from Albuquerque that charges $8 for adults and $6 for children and a second that does not charge any admission at all. Next year I will take my children to the grocery store for pumpkins that they can actually carve. Can you imagine the size of the pumpkins I can buy for $100? Finally, your business model is nothing more than away to gouge customers. I really love this Pumpkin Patch and it's definitely something that should be part of your Halloween tradition. This is an all age fun fiesta, people! Whether you want to take a hayride and score some awesome pumpkins or your speed is more a corn maze this is definitely a place you'll spend the whole day exploring. They have so many different stations for the little ones (slides, pig races, etc.), but plenty of kettle corn and fresh lemonade for the adults too! If you're up for it, hop on the mechanical bull and test your balance. If not, check out the petting zoo and look at cute animals until you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Whatever you do, do NOT miss a chance to give this Patch a try! You'll be glad you did. I will pass this tip along--If you're traveling in to Moriarity there is a circle you'll drive and it could be never ending if you miss the turn. Definitely keep your eyes peeled! Also, it packs up pretty quickly so if you are bringing a little critter (or several), I suggest you get there early. read more

While the venue has really great potential, the site is understaffed and does not deal with unexpected events well. On October 18th, 2014, there was a power outage that lasted about 90 minutes, during which the entire event was inaccessible. There was inadequate communication and no staff members clearly in charge. The venue refused to provide compensation. We will not return. I recommend no one signs the agreement for no refunds under any circumstances - even when the venue shuts down and cannot provide services. They did not operate in good faith. read more

Went for the first time last week to the Haunted Farm and not what I expected. It was fun and scary surprisingly, which is probably why children under 13 are not advised to go. You can tell they put so much work into their props it was freakin awesome!! If you go I would definitely say DRESS WARM (hat, gloves, thermals, warm jacket), you will be much more comfortable waiting in line. I went Friday and the ticket lines were pretty long as well as the wait time for the two main haunts, about an hour or more waiting in line. Spooky fun overall. I'll start out by saying I was initially irritated because messages containing questions that I sent to McCall's via Yelp and email 2 weeks ago went unanswered. Why do they have these forums when they have no intentions of responding? My husband bought VIP tickets for two activities via the web. We got there early, about 5:30pm, and waited an hour to get in. My husband went to the front of line to ask if there was a restroom available and before he could say a word a security guy yelled at him to get in line. My husband said, "You dont even know what I was going to say." They security guy yelled at him again to get in line. If we hadn't already paid for those events we would have left. Once we were allowed in we went to the ticket office and got wrist bands for the activities. We waited until after 7pm, when the sun went down, to start the activities. There is plenty to do while waiting. We went right in to the Haunted Farm. It was somewhat scary and a lot of fun. Then we went to the Field of Screams and waited about 20 minutes in the VIP line to get in. That was fabulous, so much to see, and tons of scary characters. When we left at 8pm the VIP line was longer than the regular line, with probably over an hour wait. We had a great time overall. My advice is get there very early. I think there could have been better signs directing us how to get there, where the lines were, etc. There were tons of people hiding alcohol, not a place for young children. read more

Loved every aspect of our experience, EXCEPT the music was SO loud. We arrived as soon as the place opened and was not very crowded. Our walk from the parking lot to the front gate was so pleasant with fall in the air that we were looking forward to our experience outside on the "farm." Instead, once we got in the gate, we were hit with blaring music, alternating between pop and country, but with a strong beat that made me feel like I should be hanging out with my friends after dark, not strolling in the country mid-morning. It was loud and incessant and followed us everywhere we went in the park, including the corn maize (although the sound diminished somewhat the further we got in). As more people arrived and the day progressed, I became less aware of it as one would expect. But, overall, I found it distracting, annoying and certainly not in keeping with some kind of the a beautiful fall day like I had been expecting. read more
