Death Cab for Cutie at the MAC
    Andrew H.

When seeing a concert at the "MAC" a few words come to mind... EPIC. wild. disorganized. CLUSTERFUCK. Seriously, they really need to get their shit together or stop having concerts here ASAP (pronounce that Ae-sap, not AE ES AE PEE, thanks.) Sound could've been a lot better, but the main problem: ABSOLUTELY ZERO INFORMATION. on all fronts. An "intelligence breakdown" as the previous Executive Administration of the Nation would explain it. Before the event, the only key to how anything was going to work was the crappy Gonzaga website which acts like basketball games are the only thing that ever happens here. The tickets said nothing except the cliche'd "all ages welcome". All tickets say "GENERAL ADMISSION". How is seating going to work? Fuck if I know. Are cameras allowed? Who knows. DSLR's (or "professional cameras" as they are known by meathead bouncers the world over) are rarely allowed at concerts sans press pass. However the website says nothing about them, pro or con. I bought a crappy point and shoot camera specifically to be able to take snaps at this concert and left my trusty DSLR at home, reluctantly. Well, you indeed *could* bring them to the event, who knew? Not me. And there wasn't enough time to go home, get the Canon, and come back. *pouty face* What about seating, you ask? Well the first 900 people got to go down on the floor (an area that, at almost every concert in the world, is known as "GENERAL ADMISSION"), NO ONE knew this. It's just an added bonus for the people that arrived early. Don't worry though, the floor was only 1/4 full at its peak. So seating pretty much worked like a Southwest Flight mixed with a heaping portion of the first day of school on the cheesewagon. There were no assigned seats, it was a free-for-all. Many people (including yours truly) got there a bit late...and wandered around standing to watch the show until a bouncer asked us to "please take your seat". WHAT SEAT?! It was awesome, like musical chairs! Except no one gets to sit, and is constantly being herded around aimlessly like bovine for the slaughter. (Although it shouldn't matter, for reference I am speaking on behalf of the Death Cab for Cutie show held on 24th day of April the year Two-thousand and nine)

Sooo cool to see in real life what we watch on tv!!

What a cool experience to finally be able to take my son to see the #1 team in the nation!!!! Go Zags!!! The staff was so amazingly courteous, the food was Awesome and the game was thrilling (even tho we absolutely demolished them) The student sections was just as crazy as it appears on tv and overall it was just an awesome time!! Can't wait to bring him back!!!

The staff...we're talking the owners to the cleaning crew...are exceptional beyond belief. Everyone is more than willing to help make the couple's day go without a hitch. Each staff member has a smile on their face and wears their heart on their sleeves. The facility is immaculate inside and holds numerous textures for fantastic photos. There isn't anything like it in Spokane. You have to stop by just to see the bridal suite alone...it's a photographer's dream!

The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and it is paired perfectly with incredible staff. (Bonus points: They have Guinness on tap!). Kim, who was our McGinnity room coordinator, is one of the most wedding-knowledgeable people I have ever met. It was very clear from the start that she knows what she is doing and she loves her job. I seriously can't explain how awesome it was to have her be there for us. We still (2 years later) have friends and family mention how awesome Kim was and how fun/ beautiful our wedding was. Another bonus point: I called Kim to see if she could get us one of their pies for my Wife and I's first year anniversary as a surprise- not only did she get us a pie but she handmade a cobbler too! She then decorated the venue with lights and a single table and chairs for my Wife and I to sit and enjoy some champagne and pie. She seriously went above and beyond. 10/10 have definitely recommended this venue to friends already.

We pulled our carts to the front ourselves and asked the checkout shack staff for help. The clueless blonde said she didn't know what was going on either and did not offer help. We sat there in the sun until Brooke sauntered back, we got a couple more things and checked out for $2,600+. We got a $0.20 rebate through their Rewards program. Yes, a twenty cents for $2,600+ purchase. They wouldn't even give us free delivery, so that was an extra $200. Fast forward to $200 delivery, which amounted to wind-shorn plants in the back of a pickup truck. The trunks of two $300 trees were bouncing off the tailgate where they had fallen over. One tree was near death, with the entire top covered in crunchy dead leaves, browned branches and leaves severly eaten by insects. We refused the one tree and returned to Barn and Blossom to pick out a different tree, until we were told we had to pay another $200 delivery fee. NO, WE WON'T PAY FOR THE DELIVERY TO REPLACE THE NEARLY DEAD TREE YOU TRIED TO DUMP ON US. After, $2,800+, I would have expected a basic level of courtesy the first time we were there, at least the second time, but no. There is zero service and if I could give negative stars, I would. We have alot more yard to landscape and it won't be through Barn and Blossom. The response from Barn and Blossom's owner was, "We are glad you won't be coming back as you are not welcome." Such poor service, even from the owner...now they created a Disney level fantasy novella below about how great they are.

This beautifully restored Victorian Mansion was our best B&B experience yet. The room are tastefully decorated in Victorian antiques. Everything from the claw-footed tub in the bathroom to the ornate chandelier in the dining room made us feel like we had stepped back in time. We would love to come back for one of their Victorian high teas. Every course of the full service breakfast was delicious, especially the dutch babies. The staff was great. Heather, the daughter of the owner, is an excellent cook. She made us feel comfortable and welcome. Looking forward to staying here again.

We had asked about it several times before, and the amount were were told hadn't changed, nor had it included tax. Their website didn't (and still doesn't) include the tax. When we called the event off, one of the parties received $800 (50% of the total, but $200 more than their deposit) and the other two parties received nothing. Denise (in charge of the mansion events) told us only half of the deposit was refundable. It has now been months, and I still don't have my share back, and the other party only got $200 back from the extra $200 they were sent. Don't trust these people under any circumstances. They deceive, lie, and won't even refund people that write them checks.
