Excellent staff and local business. Large enough to have everything a homeowner needs and small enough to care.

I'm extremely disappointed with McCoy's Building Supply and the way employees are treated at the Tomball location. From what I witnessed, there was favoritism, unfair treatment, and a very hostile work environment toward employees of color. One employee in particular was constantly singled out, picked on, and threatened with write-ups over small things while others were treated differently. What made the situation even worse was how management handled a family death. An employee was grieving the loss of his father and was reportedly threatened with disciplinary action for arriving late on the day of the funeral. Later, he was fired for being 10 minutes late even after giving advance notice ahead of time. That shows a serious lack of compassion and respect for employees. There were also repeated racist remarks and language in the workplace that made the environment uncomfortable and unacceptable. No employee should have to deal with discrimination or hostility while simply trying to do their job. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously and works to create a more respectful and fair workplace for everyone. read more

My experience with McCoy's in Tomball has been disappointing. While there are a few good employees who genuinely try to help customers, the overall work environment I've seen does not reflect fair or respectful treatment of all staff. There seems to be a lack of consistency in how employees are treated, and it feels like some workers are not given the same respect or opportunities as others. The management style comes across as unprofessional at times and discouraging rather than supportive. For a company of this size, I expected better leadership and a more fair and respectful workplace culture. I hope corporate takes a serious look at how this location is being run. read more

So kinda frustrating, I've been buying building materials here for twenty years. I came to get some siding, they had what I needed and I went home to get my truck on a Sunday. I got back at 4:30, paid for it but the guy then asked about my truck length. They said they couldn't load me because it was too long for my truck. Okay fine, super frustrating that no one told me that when I was here an hour earlier and telling them i would come back to get it. Arlin the assistant manager was adamant they couldn't load me because it was illegal. The next day my husband comes to pick them up, SAME truck, they load him no problem. (Hubby said they could have loaded you & put it thru the back window if they were worried about the legality of it). They just loaded him(in the truck bed sticking out the back) like no big deal. So two things...they didn't want to load at 4:30 & I'm a woman so they can be rude and give bad service. Arlin was VERY rude! read more
