Isabel Rodriguez is my hero. Every season I come to McCue's to buy my plants. Usually I bring pictures I print from the internet that I fall in love with and bring the picture to Isabel asking her to recreate the plants in the picture. Immediately Isabel gets to work pulling the plants out that I need. She explains how to plant them, what food they need, what sunlight they should have and whether or not it will work where I plan to plant them. She's been spot on every single time. Never, EVER did I expect this to happen. My sister had been working for Meghan for a few years and not too long ago asked for a raise. She was denied the raise and on top of that got FIRED, for what?! For asking to be paid what she deserves? This is wrong, unprofessional and unethical. McCue's is, by far, the BEST nursery in New England. Have been going there for years, even when my Mom worked for Mahoney's. Even with taking advantage of her employee discount, Mahoney's was STILL way overpriced, and the quality of their merchandise doesn't even come close to what McCue's sells. I refer to it as "my happy place". Everyone is very helpful, so I don't know what others are talking about. Love this place. read more

I still go to McCue but their prices have gone up substantially, so it makes Mahoney's more affordable. Mahoney's carries more, but McCue's has a nice selection. I had a business account that someone who worked with me got. When I attempted to carry that over after they left, I was told I couldn't do that - and not in the nicest way. I still shop there personally, but wouldn't keep our business with them after that. read more

My wife and kids have been going there for over 10 years to purchase all of our gardening plant's and planters , Halloween decorations and Christmas trees too. Either this is one of the best kept secrets in Woburn, or... (most likely) I don't actually frequent this part of Woburn very often anymore and it just didn't hit my radar until this year. I was excited to see the variety of herbs and vegetables available, we also picked up some perennials (found some b1g1 deals as well) and while the Saturday before Mother's Day is arguably the silliest day to go to a garden center, the parking lot was not as busy as we expected and we found what we needed very easily. All the employees we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. All in all it was a very positive experience and I'll definitely be going back in the future! read more

I have bought flowers and Christmas greenery here for 25+ years-- staff is knowledgeable and to-the-point, but not rude-- just busy. No more than twice in that time I have bought a shrub that has failed, but I have never had a problem returning it. They are always my go-to, and have never failed-- we drive an extra few miles to shop here instead of Mahoney's. read more

Buyer be aware! Be cognizant that this garden center will not warrant any trees and/or shrubs you purchase from them while others like Northeast Nursery and Mahoney's do provide warranties. They may argue they are better priced which mitigates the lack of warranty but if you're spending a lot of cash for trees and shrubs it becomes necessary. I purchased a hydrangea that lasted just about a month! I purchased peat moss, etc and followed instructions to the T! Dead now! This is not like the first shrub I've planted by any means so I do know what Im doing! I should have listened to my instincts when I noted a lot of brown spots on the batch in stock but was told just pull the bad leaves off you'll be fine! read more

I visited my favorite Garden Center, McCue Garden Center on May 26 2023. When leaving I thought that I would mention my disappointment in the quality of the plants I had purchased for Memorial Day grave arrangements. The plants had strongly developed roots. It was very difficult for a person with arthritic hands to remove them from from the containers. I am 76 . Using my hands is not as easy any more. I spoke to Megan Mc Cue, one of the owners, about the problem. Megan's response was a volley of insults . I was repeatly told that I was Stupid. She asked if I Knew How to Use A Scissors or If I Owned One. I became alarmed at her behavior. I was treated so disrespectfully. I keep thinking of the many senior citizens who support McCue's. I have come to McCues for many years .Recently when I went to check out the cashier was beyond rude!! I had told her the sign posted for my plants said 3 for 6 dollars. She berated me and stated ''they are 9.95 each., trust me''. I tried to explain that the sign said in three places 3 for 6.00. She told me she would check when she checked out a long line of people. . . I asked her to call a manager ,who checked the price, and stated,'' Someone must have put the signs in the the wrong place.''She gave the price as it was posted. I have been stopping here every holiday season to pick up fresh Christmas decorations. The variety of fresh greenery is fantastic- kissing balls, wreaths, table top arrangements, bunches of evergreen boughs, and ribbons and more and more. Nice staff- so friendly and accommodating. Just read several reviews where the sales people, including Megan, were described as rude. Been going there for 15+ years and I have never had that experience with anyone on their retail staff or those who load plants, water, restock, etc. Upsetting to hear, especially since this is one of the best garden centers I have ever been to both in quality and selection for annuals---yes, including Mahoney's who have gotten better but still cater to the geranium/impatiens/petunia lovers. (No disrespect intended since Mahoney's has an enormous selection of colors and cultivars of the more common annuals---just not my thing.) I am a landscape architect (very big jobs), but gardening is my "busman's holiday". McCue's is the most consistent throughout the season. They have unusual annual plants that other nurseries don't carry. One thing, I learned everything I know about plant selection for annual pots (standing and hanging) by looking at McCue's displays. Whoever does it for them is brilliant---such unusual combos that last all season---as one thing fades, another plant starts to shine. I'm now up to about 20 pots at various places around my property---yes, I know, I need help with this obsession! McCue's perennials are good, but not their strength, though I have seen this improve there over the years too. read more

I heard about McCue's from a friend and I've been here a few times. Their selection of indoor plants was small (from what I saw). Some of the plants I remember seeing: ferns, pothos, succulents (including string of pearls!), spider plants, snake plants. I've seen a different selection with each visit. They also have a small selection of ceramic pots in the same area. Not an outdoor plant expert, but they had some outside, as well as the two greenhouses in the back. My landscaper's crew during the spring clean out unintentionally removes every year some plants. I talked to their manager how we can fix this situation. She suggested to provide a value of the lost plants by sending her receipts. I told her I bought plants last year. She recommended to get some sort of a proof of purchase so she can subtract from my invoice. I went to McCue and it was a hell to have an encounter with the owner Megan McCue. First I politely asked the salesperson what's the return policy. It was acceptable within 24 hours. I was about to purchase and return immediately the plants. At least I will have a receipt to submit. Salesperson directed me to Megan and she was extremely rude. Megan McCue told me: We are not participating in this. -in what? She accused me that I'm going to make money out of this. How? I was honest upfront, polite and I didn't break return policy. I was shocked when she told me to take my business to places like Home Depot. (!) Well, I definitely will have it in my mind. I live literally 30 steps from McCue Garden Center. Every Xmas I've been buying a tree from them for the last 20 years. Every occasion I was getting flowers from them. I was their loyal customer. Customer Service died in America... Based on her statement every person who for any reason return plants deserves to be treated like me?! Luckily I called landscape company and they were ok with the hold receipt indicating price. This is such a cute nursery Even my dog approves of taking a stroll here and sneaking in a bum scratch or two from the friendly staff who work here. They have a large selection of all sorts of annuals and perennials and the section that has all the poisonous plants is educational and fun. I only wish they had a larger selection of pots and other gardening supplies but I understand they are solely a nursery. I could get lost here for days and be oh so happy!! What appears to be just a little local flower market goes on forever. Once inside there are greenhouses for days. Although they don't have the expansive space that some larger chain greenhouses have, this nursery does well with supplying a great selection in a smaller space. They have tons of annuals and some shrubs, but my focus was on perennials. Even stopping by in the middle of July they had almost everything I was looking for - moonshine yarrow, pomegranate dianthus, russian sage, salvia, snow in summer - all at reasonable prices. Their plants looked healthy and happy. I glanced at their herbs and they were all doing very well. There were only a few workers on this particular day but each of them acknowledged me, even bringing me a cart when it was obvious I was over my capacity for carrying plants. If they don't have what you need, you could always drive down the street a ways to Mahoney's. read more

I have been going to McCue's for Christmas trees for well over a decade - my family in Oregon grows them, so I'm very picky and have never had a bad one from this place. Well, after starting my garden plants from seed failed dismally this year, I decided to stop in and check out their selection of veggies and herbs. Like all things they sell, everything was healthy and beautiful and very reasonably priced. I bought 9 tomato plants, twelve pepper plants, four pots of herbs and twelve onion sets for a bit over $25! I'm so glad I decided to check them out on the other solstice. So, if you are headed to Mahoney's and you pass this place, stop in. The parking lot and customers are much less nuts, the prices are better, and the quality is high. read more

Five bright and shiny stars for one of my favorite garden shops in the area. Perhaps I am somewhat partial to McCue's because they play country music and offer free popcorn, however this little nursery carries a great selection of quality garden and landscaping supplies. The shop's square footage is a bit less than other nurseries I have visited, yet they still manage to pack as much seasonally appropriate merchandise into the space as possible. McCue's offers everything you need to start a garden or create a little curb appeal at home. The shop puts a great deal of effort into their merchandise displays and everything is always presented beautifully. I find many Instagram-able moments while shopping here especially during the fall season. This weekend I took advantage of their convenient hours (7am-7pm) and beat the Columbus Day weekend rush for some early morning pumpkin shopping. Outside the shop during fall you will find a vast selection of pumpkins, gourds, and other decorative squash of all shapes and sizes. I was able to purchase a corn stalk and hay bale as well to complete my fall display. During Spring and Summer I love the choices of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. Inside the shop you will find all sorts of unique and decorative treasures depending on the time of year. This weekend there were spooky Halloween items, dried flower bouquets, fresh cut flowers and much more. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. McCue's is open until after the Christmas season when they close for a winter break until early Spring. Every season here is enjoyable, but the fall is my favorite. Bring the kids to enjoy the free corn maze while the large inflatable jack o'lantern on the roof is sure to capture their attention. read more

Avid Gardner here....This is hands down the best local nursery for perennial/annual plants. Lots of variety, many unusual cultivars. Fantastic hanging baskets (almost don't want to share this---they go fast). Healthy plants that they take excellent care of. Many amazing permanent planters that they arrange themselves with unusual but stunning plant combos. Have learned more from their displays than I ever learned in a book. So disappointed in the Christmas tree and customer service. :( I really wanted to love this place, it's close to my home and I wanted to buy local this year (went to Home Depot in years past)- I bought a Christmas tree the weekend after thanksgiving. Side note- the staff wasn't great when buying the tree but the man who put it on the car roof was pleasant :) Two weeks later I am emailing McCues to let them know my tree is completely dead and sagging. My family who had come over made comments whether we watered the tree which of course we had been doing. I wanted mc cues to know of this and possibly if other customers this year had purchased similar dead trees. I haven't received a response now in 2 1/2 weeks. I painfully left the tree up through the holidays hoping the tree wouldn't photograph too horribly and took it out of the house on the 26th. A shame it couldn't make it through New Years but it made me cringe to look at it. Also a shame Mc cues doesn't seem to care more for their customers' satisfaction with their product. I sincerely hope others have a better experience here but if you come across any issue good luck getting a response from this place! read more

Halloween and Christmas are seasons where they really shine! You should check them out now for pumpkins and mums and later for trees and wreaths. McCue's is my favorite garden center in (or anywhere near) Woburn. Their staff is super friendly and quite knowledgeable, their plants are healthy and of good selection, and their prices make it a great value. They also always have the place decorated for the season so it is fun to come in just to look around. Is it possible to fall more in love with a business? Could it really be the case that EVERY employee here is so helpful and friendly on all of my return visits? A few weeks ago, I returned here to purchase some annuals for four new window boxes. I happened to ask the closest employee for some advice. She stopped what she was doing and spent a good 20 minutes (at least) recommending plants that would work. She basically put together my arrangements for me and went back and forth collecting enough plants to fill my huge containers. She was conscious of budget and did not try to sell me on the priciest plants. She asked me for my color preferences and basically took very little information that I was able to articulate, but miraculously came up with exactly what I wanted. When she was unsure of one of her suggestions, she confirmed with a young man who also worked there. He seemed quite young, maybe 20, so I was utterly impressed that he knew so much about plant varieties. However, he was so respectful of his older colleague and together, they really came up with beautiful arrangements. It was an enjoyable experience as she and I also exchanged pleasant banter. I have received so many compliments from my neighbors on my new window boxes thanks to McCue. I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who helped me. She was so friendly and even brought my flowers to the car. I gave her a tip, but hope that this review earns her a well-deserved raise too! read more
