REVIEW FOR LANDSCAPING SERVICES ONLY (farmstand is great) I tried to engage Russel Farms for landscaping service, and ended up going elsewhere. It took 2 weeks of back and forth to get a quote scheduled, then several more weeks to get the quote in hand. After that despite trying to give them money we were unable to get anything scheduled. BUYERS BEWARE!! Russell Farms does not honor a customer's request for a refund. After trying to return fruit that was inedible, I was told that they do not issue refunds. This fruit should have been put in the garbage, not put out for sale. The manager was beyond rude, saying that she would not allow an exchange except for the very same item. I would have preferred an exchange for another item, but she insisted that could not be done; it was impossible. Exchange and refund policies are not posted anywhere in the store. That's because they don't have any. She accused me of leaving the fruit in my car, and that's why it went bad. When, in fact, it was immediately placed in a cooler bag. She insisted that it be exchanged for another of the same fruit (which were all soft). It was an impossible situation. Never have I encountered such a rude, small-minded, and ill-mannered store manager, who displayed such shameful behavior. read more

I have been going to Russell Farms for decades trying to keep the business local. On Monday I purchased some famous steak tips and cooked them that evening. The tips were spoiled. I went back to Russell's today (Wednesday) and they refused to refund my purchase stating I should have called them earlier and also requested the spoiled product (which is in the trash). A small and just okay little nursing/ farm stand that sells plants and flowers and some produce. Stopped in to get some plants and flowers, which they had little selection and varieties. A stones throw away at Lowe's, they had what I wanted, healthier looking plants and better prices. read more

This review is solely based on their landscape service and NOT the farm stand. If you're a dog lover do not use this company. Their "crew" was working in my neighbor's yard and my dog was in my yard barking at them. My dog was simply doing his job which was "protecting" his family from strangers. One of the workers must have been annoyed by my dog and he turned and aimed the high powered leaf blower in my dog's face. I immediately called the store and someone came to the job site. I don't know if there were any consequences because my neighbor never used them again after that. Also, it would be nice if they parked in front of the property for which they're working rather than blocking my mailbox. I have never used them but I never thought their work was good. At one point they had several accounts on my street and now they only have one. They always seemed to cut lawns too low and too often. I'd watch in disbelief as my neighbors lawns would be brown and dead by mid summer. read more

We ordered loam from them for my mother's garden as a layer of top soil. It wasn't suitable for garden soil, it dried gray and cracked, which means it has an abundance of clay in it. The clods can't be broken up, and nothing will be able to take root in it. Save your money and buy loam elsewhere. I've started to remove it all, and I'll have to resell it for fill. It's not good for anything else. My mom is 80, and has been working the soil for 50 years, and her mother worked it before her. It was heartbreaking, for her and for me to see the look on her face after it sat for a few days. Shame on you for calling this loam for planting, you could use it for leveling and installing a walk or driveway. read more

The Best!!!! Went there a couple of years ago to get a donation for local girl who had cancer. Without hesitation the owner gave a wonderful donation. Went there again because my friend got her Christmas tree there. Went very late in the season there were 3 trees left , all of them were perfectly shaped! I found salt marsh hay here that I needed for mulching by googling "salt marsh hay" and "boston." It was $11.99 (much cheaper than at another local garden center that will not have this hay in stock until the fall) and fertilizer was also reasonable. Very helpful and friendly staff and they actually sent someone to pick up the two bales and 40 lb. compost and put them in my car (not necessary, but definitely appreciated!). They have large piles of mulch outside as well. Overall, very pleased and will come back. read more

Basic farm stand, not sure if anything there is actually grown by them. Sells Richardson's ice cream, Harrows chicken pies, flowers, etc. Sells corn and mulch in season. Decent enough but not a place you'd go to regularly. read more

I love Russell Farms! In the spring they grow all their plants and hanging baskets in their own greenhouses - they're the best and healthiest around! Sorry Russell Farms, I went on your website and tried several times to give you feedback, but it is not working. I went today and paid $6.99 for a whole watermelon. Cut it open and it was pale pink and sour. Watermelons do not ripen off the vine, so I lost $6.99. Also picked up a few of your own Russell tomatoes. Seeds were black, had to toss those also. I live about 12 miles from this location, so not practical to go back with stuff. read more

I recently moved to the area a few months ago. I have been getting all of my produce from Russell Farms. Their corn is out of this world! They grow some of their own stuff such as swiss chard, escarole, chicory, peppers, peaches and best of all tomatoes. I will not be returning to chain grocery stores for my produce. Russell Farms exceeds in quality. The staff is friendly and always willing to carry heavy items out to my car. I thoroughly enjoy shopping at this farmstand!! read more

I just moved to this area about a year ago. I come to this farm stand as much as possible. In the spring time they have the largest most beautiful geraniums. I bought two and I went back a couple months later looking for more but they were sold out and I can tell why the plants were gorgeous not even a comparison to Lowes or Home depot. I have been buying their native grown corn all summer and it is unbelievably delicious. They grow their own tomatoes which are also delicious and some other produce as well. The staff is great and anytime I buy soil or anything like that for the garden there is always a young man who carries it and puts it right in my car.
