We came on a Saturday morning and they were quite busy! It looks like they take of all types of animals from the farm to domestic, so this was one of the more unique pet store experiences. The dog food selection was limited compared to what we have back home, so we weren't able to get the exact same food we usually feed the dogs, but they had Taste of the Wild which was a brand we used to feed the dogs. Pricing was on par with what you'd pay at the bigger stores but the customer service here is what sets it apart from most pet stores. You can tell they love what they do! Parking was super easy, as they had multiple spots in front of the store. Definitely would be my go-to pet store if I lived in the area.

It's a very clean store and the employees are helpful and polite. My husband and I visit the rescue cats that Sonora Cat Rescue have there when we go in for our purchases. Their living quarters are clean and not crowded. This is where we adopted our precious Gypsi Blue. I recommend Sonora Cat Rescue for adoptions. And I recommend Sonora PetsMart for your supplies! It's still in good shape in form and function. I decided that since I was passing through Murphy's with friends, I'd stop in and get another harness in another color. I can't find this brand in any of the petshops in Sacramento. I am glad that Murphy's Dog Store continues to stock this excellent Made In the USA product. Oh, and I was also pleased to see the highly rated Mushers Secret balm to apply to dog foot pads. It's good for treating dry pawpads. I was glad to be able to find a shop that sells it in person instead of mail-order. I do prefer supporting mom and pop businesses over mega-giant entities like Amazon.

I visited this store for the first time on Friday with my mom, and unfortunately it was a very…read moreuncomfortable experience. I drove 45 minutes specifically to find Stella & Chewy's stew, which is the only brand my dogs eat. I was actually really excited at first the store is big and has a great selection. However, almost immediately after walking in, I got the feeling that we were being watched. At first I tried to ignore it, but it quickly became obvious that multiple employees were following us around, pretending to stock shelves while staying close to us the entire time. I've worked in asset protection before, so I can recognize that kind of behavior. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and anxious, especially since I already deal with social anxiety. At one point I even told my mom I wanted to leave because it felt like they thought we were stealing, but we stayed since we didn't drive that far for nothing. When we finally checked out and were leaving, several employees stood near the entrance just staring at us, which made the situation even worse. I've never felt so judged and unwelcome in a store before. What should have been a positive first visit turned into a stressful and upsetting experience. I won't be coming back and will just continue purchasing elsewhere.

Very disappointed with my experience at this Petco. I went in to buy three betta fish, and one of…read morethe employees behind the counter (the one with the lip piercings) asked if we had tanks with heaters and filters already set up. We told her we had vases ready for them, and she immediately refused to sell us the fish. What doesn't make sense is that this same employee has sold us bettas before, so I don't understand why the decision was different this time. If it's store policy, that's one thing, but there was no reason to be rude about it. The most frustrating part was seeing several betta fish at the store that looked like they were in terrible condition, with some appearing to be dying in their small cups. It's hard to understand refusing a sale over concerns for the fish's welfare while fish in the store seemed to need better care themselves. Customer service should be respectful, even when enforcing store policies. Unfortunately, this experience was rude, inconsistent, and disappointing!
