Today I went to pick up a (fairly simple) order for a happy meal and milk. I entered the building and after several other customers got their order I was told that my order was being readied. I continued to wait another 20 or so minutes and finally a staff person got the manager who seemed as though she wanted nothing to do with me. I showed her the order and she told me that was a drive thru order and I would have to go there. I went to the drive thru and was told that they had no such order. The associate explained that the person who made the order would have to click the "I'm already here" tab before I could get the order. I contacted that person and the "necessary" process was done. After going through the drive thru again I was told there was still no order (even though the associate could see it on my phone. She called for the manager who never came and advised that I go inside, which I did. I asked to speak to the manager and heard her indicate she had already spoken to me. The associate who helped me looked for my order and found that it was in fact sitting in front (apparently for the hour that I was trying to get it) and labeled as a take out -NOT a drive thru order. The whole incident was handled extremely poorly by the manager and as a result she wasted a good hour of my time when she could have looked to get it or just had the order replaced and given to me. Went through the drive through for a drink and a sandwich. Asked for an "extra espresso shot" about six times while the employee had no idea what I was asking and kept saying "I don't know what you want." Finally, it clicked for her. I pull up to the first window to pay and she tells me their "espresso machine is broken." I say...ok never mind, just remove the drink from my tab. A different woman at the pick-up window tells me they were actually just cleaning their espresso machine. At 8:15 in the morning - during the breakfast rush. I don't like writing reviews, but I have to for this one. I've been to this location three times, and now it is my preferred spot. Cons: Sometimes a little dirty. The workers can be a little too vocal with each other. The kiosk never prints off a receipt. Pros: Maurice. That guy is professional, courteous, and efficient. I've never seen someone who cares so much about doing such a good job and being so excellent. He's the reason why I come back. And the best fish sandwich I ever had. read more

They served raw burgers to several customers today. The only way to get a refund was to drive back to the store and bring the raw food back. No apology, no credit, nothing. One would think after I called and complained that they would ensure that the burgers were cooked through. But nope, as I was walking out after returning my raw burger, customers were walking in with their raw burger to return. Do not go to this McDonald's unless you want to get sick! read more

Quick stop for a very hot coffee (and some napkins to clean up a spill in the car). The coffee was quick, it had the right sugars and cream in it (and then I added some ice cubes), and the napkin dispenser was stocked properly. The restaurant was clean, the parking lot was clean. This is a good McD's. read more

I have consistently received cold food and missing entrees every time I've ordered from this location. The fact this restaurant is still open despite having a 1 star review and multiple complaints about food quality and customer service, I.e. never answering the phone or people having whole orders missing or wrong, baffles me to no end. Soggy hash browns. Had to throw them away. What a shame and waste. Hash browns should be nice and crisp and should go in the bag last, on top of the other heavier food. Mine went in first and were crushed by sandwiches. My all time favorite fast food time is the McDonalds hash brown and I was upset at the food I received from the Philadelphia Pike Claymont McDonalds. So rude for no reason whoever was working in the drive thru at 11:26 on 12/3 had SO MUCH ATTITUDE for no reason . we placed our order and then at the end she told us our total and said cash only and we said " oh cash only ?"because we didn't have cash only card. Worst McDonald's I ever been to my whole life horrible wait times constantly messing up orders I refuse to go there at all cost.

They get our order wrong at least half the time. How hard is it not to put cheese on a hamburger? And then when they fix it it often takes at least 2 to 3 tries in that they offer us the wrong sandwich again. That has happened two of the last three times. Staff is nice though. So many times I've left this place and been disappointed or underwhelmed with my experience, but I've never said anything about it. I suppose I've gotten used to it, or maybe I just expect the experience to be sub-par since its fast food. But I'm tired of wasting my time and money by coming here, and maybe by speaking up I can help others to not do the same. This place is terrible. The food rarely tastes fresh, the service is awful. So often the employees are short and brash with the customers, as opposed to warm and accommodating. They close down the dining room before it's supposed to be. They refuse their customers regular menu items. Most of the times I've been here they've said that the shake machine is "down" or "broken", probably because someone already cleaned it and they don't feel like doing it again. Tonight, however, they at least had the decency to not lie to my girlfriend and I, and simply said that they "weren't doing milkshakes tonight".... So, aside from being rude to their customers, they also decide, based upon their own discretion, when they will and when they won't serve what's supposed to be available on their menu. I'm tired of asking for stuff here time and time again and being told no. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Save yourself a trip and go elsewhere. read more

It's mcdonalds foods the same. But the service here is horrible horrible did I say horrible. You might find a few good ones but they are usually gone within a few months. Almost every morning I get a large unsweetened tea to take to work. They only reason I keep going here is it's only a dollar. I have to try it cause the one time I don't they give me a sweet tea. And at least 3 out of 10 times they get it wrong. One time as I am pulling up I see the lady is pulling sweet tea in the cup then I guess she realized it was suppose to be unsweetened and filled it the rest of the way up with the unsweetened. Like I wouldn't know know the difference. I realize we all make mistakes but the employees at this location are terrible. Either they just don't care or they have no understanding of their job. I could tell you so may more bad experiences with this particular mcdonalds but I'm sure most of you already know. read more

What a toilet. First of all I'm disabled, and this parking lot is horribly designed. One handicapped spot is taken up by a person with handicap plates, the other is blocked by a green Kia Soul with no plates or placards. Ok, I decide not to fuss, I'll just go through the drive thru. My order was messed up - and I'm not picky. I don't make extra demands, or even special orders, just a few off the menu items and it took 2 trips back to get it right. The fries were cold. There was a guy pan handling out front of the place. Total dump. Don't go there, upgrade and go to Arby's or BK down the street. read more

Ordered delivery.. first delivery they only brought fries. Half order was missing. Door dash driver delivery guy went back to mcdonalds to get rest of order it was still wrong. I would have liked to leave no stars for the McDonald's on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, DE, but to leave a review you had to give something. I agree with most everyone else, that McDonald's is horrible. Rude staff, cold food & fries guaranteed every time and yes, something will be messed up in your order. For a McDonald's to be in a good location on Phila. Pike, I wish they would hire new staff & management & actually make people enjoy coming there. I refuse to go there anymore. This was awful! My husband went in the restaurant and waited 20 minutes for a medium fries because the drive thru had ridiculous lines. No uniforms, no masks, no gloves and a bunch of young people (at least 4) standing around talking about what they were doing this weekend. There were fries and cups all over the floor! This store is on Phila. Pike in Claymont, De. Somebody needs to get a hold of this place. This was after going to Arby's, across the street, and was in and out of the drive thru in 5 minutes. Excellent!!!! Tried a "mcdouble" and it knocked. my. freakin. SOCKS OFF!!!! The workers were very nice to me and my wife, Gwen, and recommended some sweet tea to wash down the meat :). this place has it all - atmosphere, fun, food, friends. and it's cheap! will return soon. read more

Arrived at 1:30AM onoy to wait 20 mins to be told they were shutting down the system. Went to the window to get managers name and watched a puggy black girl pull her shirt up and either pull lent from her belly button or play with the piercing she has there. Finally a Jennifer came to the window and said they were closed. I asked why did it take 20 mins of me waiting at the drive thru for them to tell me. Jennifer said the girl told her everyone had drove off (her words). I asked for the managers name and was told Maguel I asked for his managers name and she dis not know. The whole time another tall balck lady was laughing and making comments about late customers. This resturant does not deserve customers and I would avoid it. The mangement does not care. I have spoken to them before and their responce is well its hard to find good help. Its pretty sad when a Wawa gas station has better fod than a resturant and they understand service. My daughter wanted a late night snack. We pull up to the drive through and we were ignored for about a minute until someone took our order. We pull up to the window to wait for our food. We waited for at least 15 minutes before we received our food. I asked for an ice cream cone and the girl stated that they could not serve them after midnight! My daughter begins to eat her fries a d they were cold. I went in to the store to get hot fries and I saw the girl throwing the fries that she gave to my daughter in the trash! The back where the food was served had trash and food all over the floor. That was the worst experience I have had at a McDonald's and I have had some pretty bad experiences in the past. read more
