People nice, beverages I have to wait a few minutes after arriving, even though I have placed the order and paid well in advance. They do get the order accurate. Problem with this place is, gees, it's smells HORRIBLE, and it's worse every time. As soon as you enter, you're just punched in the nose with a stench that may be best described month old disgusting mop water, but you can't get it out of your nose. McDonald's in historic Delmar, NY is top! Not sure why Yelps be complainin up on here. Be an adult: check your order. Been here a few times this Spring (2023) and it was great each time. The ice coffee was tasty and fresh. The burgers and nuggs were hot and neatly bagged. Long line around back, so I went inside quick. The ice was fresh not freezer burned. The soda was like a fresh batch or something. Very good all in all IM(Yelp)O. The parking lot could use a bit of upkeep and maybe speed up the line outside for the drive thru - especially in the morning hours. But the staff was quick and on top of it. Today while I was ordering the man at the speaker constantly asked us to repeat ourselves (no shame to those of hard hearing LOL) then he doubled my pals order and I think was just putting in the order randomly instead of actually listening to the order. Rudest drive thru attendant. Her mumble and the static of the intercom made it hard to hear her when she apparently asked for our order. She proceeds to speak in a slow (you must not understand English) insulting tone. After ordering she told us that we needed to indicate a "meal" before ordering even though we ordered "a number one and a number seven." How is that NOT indicating a meal? If you have 45 minutes to kill to order one burger, this is the place for you. I was literally the only customer in the place ordering three burgers and fries and I was there 20 minutes. They said they were waiting on the apple pie which made all of my food cold . Two out of the three burgers were made wrong. We ordered one fry and all three were no salt. Not the first time With troubles here do not be in a rush, even at the drive-through. This was the first time I went inside thinking it would be faster. The wheels have fallen off completely here. Up to about 9 months or so ago, i would've told you this is the best Mcds anywhere around based on my 2x a week experience for almost the past 2 years. That ship has sailed... Everyone who was always there holding it together are gone. Most of the staff now are both new and don't understand English, at least during the evenings. That's an awful combo to say the least. Only one or two will speak English and often act as the main interpreter for everyone else. If that one person is wrapped up in something else, everything is at a standstill until they are able to delegate again. Service priority seems to go drive thru first, app orders second, and walk ins are a distant third. Today was the third time in my last four attempts of placing a walk in order in which i ended up leaving empty handed. Two people who were standing there when i entered were never waited on either, causing the first man to finally give up and them myself following suit. Let me be clear in that i'm not picking on anyone or blaming them for not knowing English yet earning a living, my problem comes with the lack of foresight from scheduling/hiring managers as to seeing how certain staffing dynamics will cause a service issue. Another byproduct of it is that employees who only speak English and have to try to find words and gestures to explain things eventually give up and quit. Right, so... This place is apparently not on the Yelp map and is misplaced on any other online map. I hate hate hate fast food and McD's in particular. But I did work at one a long time ago and I must say that the food can be tasty if it is prepared by someone who is at least half awake or who half cares about what they're doing. The egg McMuffins especially are close to resembling real food. I mean they actually crack a real egg onto the grill for these so... whatever. That being said, I give this one the highest review I will ever give a McDonalds. Two stars for minimal competence. The place is clean and the food is well prepared. If you plan on supporting an industry that is a cancer on American agriculture; that subverts our democracy; poisons our minds with its advertising; clogs our collective arteries and burns nice old ladies with its unreasonably hot coffee, you could do a lot worse than choosing this location. Where do I even begin. Got a Filet O Fish, fries and a sweet tea. Got up to get my food after 5 minutes and they said their tea machine wasn't working. Asked for a slushee, and again they said that wasn't working. Asked for a root beer and surprisingly, they were able to do that. The staff is always very polite at this establishment and may I suggest the "Double Cheeseburger" if you're looking to experience a flavor orgy. Starting from the outside of this dish, the bun has a crisp shell with pleasant musty aroma and yeasty mouthfeel. The meat itself was decadent. A greazy, rich fluid coats this magnificent flesh and never ceases to amaze my taste buds- perfectly cooked with a wonderful chewy density and bits of cartilage, adding to a whirlwind of texture. Quite an experience! Topping off this marvel of a sandwich was the cheese. One can't compare this regional delight to the products of France or Belgium. It has a taste all its own, with overtones of milk, salt, and industrial lubricant. To say the least, I was blown away with my experience. Absolutely awful. I walk in to order and can barely even hear the cashier. They say absolutely noting and expect you to know exactly how much it is. After figuring that out, I wait for at least a half hour. Of course, after waiting all that time, two of my things are wrong. I return it to the register and they barely speak English. Told server twice that it was to go and still the server put the food on a tray and had to be asked for it to go, again. Fries were like they'd been fried twice. Just ordered two sausage burritos at the drive-thru. When I opened the first one, it was poorly wrapped and all the egg and sausage fell out through the other end and onto the floor of my truck. We have not had good luck at this McDonald's. We don't go that often, maybe once every month or two, but the last three or four times we were given incomplete orders. Since we use the drive through, most of the time we haven't realized our orders were incomplete until after we've left the drive through line. The last time we made a point of checking out bag before we pulled away. We were missing a sandwich, and when I told the girl at the drive through window she and her manager were both less than pleasant about having to correct the error. This McDonalds is a serious mistake. Service is really slow, even in the drive through. I just went through at 9pm and ordered an egg mcmuffin. They earned me it would take 4 minutes, but only took 3. That should have warned me off. It came through, and when I bit into it, was unable to identify what was in it. There was about nine people working tonight on Thursday in the middle of October and I'd say only two of them were actually working the manager of this franchise must like losing money because he had a whole Lotta people on the clock but none of them were doing anything. I had to wait 15 minutes for chicken nuggets. When I pulled through the drive-through! Maybe with all that free time they had they could've made some chicken nuggets ahead of time so that when people order then they were ready to go instead I was the one inconvenienced. I went inside to wait since it was taking so long and while I was inside I saw another two customers leave before even getting food out of pure frustration. No one was showing them any attention and all you heard was the coworkers joking in the back about inappropriate topics and pay no attention to what they were doing I even saw two workers prepare food without using gloves.
