My mom, who is in town visiting, picked my children up from school and decided on a McDonald's visit as their special outing for the afternoon. This location had the highest rating of all the nearby locations; so, they stopped in here for dinner any playtime. The girls enjoyed their food and the play room, once allowed in after its cleaning. They ordered at the kiosk but could not add water to the order. She was directed to the counter where she requested two cups to get water for the little ones, and was told that the restaurant no longer offers free water. Although surprised, she pivoted to order a bottle of water and paid for their entire order at the counter. When the food came, my mom realized she'd been charged for two bottles of water. 1. We are always asked to pull up and wait at the curb in the drivethru. What's the point of going to the drivethru if we park? Every. Time! 2. The service is inconsistent and way below industry standards. I am writing to express my disgust with the way I was treated at the McDonald's Fairview Ellenwood, GA location (store # 19149) drive-thru window on 3/24/2022. I placed an order for 2 value meals and requested they be placed in 2 separate bags. The manager on duty (an Asian male who said his name was Mr. Wilson) placed both value meals in the same bag and proceeded to give it to his employee to hand over to me. I politely declined to receive the bag and requested they put them in separate bags so my colleague could enjoy their meal separately from mine. Mr. Wilson aggressively said loudly, "We're not doing all of that" which shocked me. I asked him again and he said "We don't do that". I insisted again on 2 bags or I would not take the order. In a demeaning tone, he told his employee "Just put it in 2 bags so she can get out of here" The employee (a teenage male of African descent) gave me the 2 bags and was very nice to me. I asked the employee to provide me with his manager's name (Mr. Wilson) and the manager refused. Mr. Wilson argued with me at the window for several minutes refusing to provide his name so that I can file a complaint. I was blatantly discriminated against by Mr. Wilson and I would like him investigated and removed from management. He spoke to me in a very racist demeanor as if I was useless. Maybe he assumed I was incompetent because I was dressed in a hoodie with a headscarf on. Little did he know, I am a professional Director of Internal Audit for a Big 4 Accounting firm plus over 10 years of experience in Law. It should not matter what I look like or what career I have, everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. I felt so embarrassed and violated by this treatment. Really McDonalds? You can do better! I went this afternoon as I had not eaten all day, with the intention of a guilty pleasure. All I wanted was a simple triple cheeseburger, small fry, order of nuggets and a Coke. Pretty simple stuff right? I get to the drive through only to find both lanes backed up. Should have been my first clue! Suddenly I see the right lane moving much faster so I move over into it. When I pulled up to the order screen I was greeted and asked if I could please wait. When they came back to me, I was then told to drive to the first window. Now the real fun begins! I get to the window and ask if there was a problem with the speaker to which the reply was yes? I proceeded to place my order just as previously stated and was given a total of 10.07. I provide a $20 only to be told they have no pennies. I only had paper and no change so I asked "what she needed from me" (I thought I was the customer)? She finally acquiesced and said "you're good" and gave me my $10 in change. I proceeded to the second window and was given my food but no drink. I reminded her I ordered a large coke but was quickly advised I only paid for a medium. I wouldn't know because I was never provided a receipt. So I took my meal and Coke and pulled into the adjacent lot to eat. I opened my bag only to find my cheeseburger and nuggets and no fries.
