I visited Harold's for the second time and unfortunately had a very different experience than my first visit. Let me start with the positives: the food was good, the atmosphere was beautiful, and our server was pleasant and did her best during what appeared to be a very busy playoff night. The restaurant was crowded, so I understand delays can happen. The issue came when my boyfriend received a Long Island Iced Tea that did not taste right. He stirred it, took a few sips to test it, and then brought it to the bar to ask about it. He was instructed to wait for his server. By the time she returned, some time had passed and the ice had naturally begun to melt. The server agreed the drink appeared watered down and went to get a manager. Unfortunately, the interaction with management was where the experience went downhill. Before fully listening to the situation, the manager immediately became defensive and repeatedly stated that "all drink sales are final" and that this was how the drink was measured and prepared. As someone with over 20 years of management experience, I understand that not every complaint results in a refund or replacement. However, customer service starts with listening and understanding the concern before responding. A simple conversation, explanation, or even a professional acknowledgment of our concern would have gone a long way. What disappointed me was not the drink itself--it was the way the situation was handled. Good customer service can often turn a problem into a positive experience. Unfortunately, the manager's approach made us feel dismissed rather than valued as customers. We spent nearly $100 during our visit and paid the additional service charge that is automatically added to checks. Combined with the valet and parking fees being charged that evening, we expected a higher level of customer care. I still believe Harold's is a beautiful establishment with good food and a great atmosphere. My hope is simply that management takes customer concerns more seriously and approaches situations like this with professionalism and respect. read more

Like the sign on the wall says... "I Was Hanging With My Hens" This was my second visit here, and both times I've been completely blown away. The decor is absolutely beautiful -- it honestly felt like stepping into a swanky restaurant tucked away somewhere in Manhattan. I definitely was not expecting that kind of atmosphere. The staff is just as polished as the restaurant itself. Even while busy, they stayed attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The whole experience from start to finish was top tier. We led with one of the House Favorites, Fried Salmon Bites, they were fried to perfection and served with this delicious dipping sauce that wasn't spicy at all, which I loved. For the main course I ordered Lamb Chops, Mac and cheese and yams. The Lamp Chop dinner is $45. Although it says $39. on the online menu it was no problem at all because those lamb chops were worth every single bite. The lamb chops were seasoned very well and cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese and the yams fell in well with the dinner. This is a meal I could eat every day. I will dine here for all my lamb chop cravings. The rest of the hens in my party ordered Grilled Shrimp and Grits and Carribean Salmon Pasta. My granddaughter enjoyed her cheese burger and fries. I'd heard mixed reviews about Harold's Chicken & Ice Bar, so I wanted to experience it for myself. I was excited when a friend invited me for brunch because it's basically her neighborhood "Cheers," and she's there all the time. First impressions: the aesthetics are very nice and modern. They had the cutest Valentine's Day setup, which made the space feel festive and well thought out. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We started with sangria, she had red, and I had white, then ordered the smoked salmon dip as an appetizer. For entrées, I chose the Harold's Signature Breakfast, and she went with the salmon croquettes. The smoked salmon dip was definitely my favorite of the meal. Overall, the food was good, and I'd absolutely go back to explore more of the menu. This was my first time visiting the Panola Rd location, and I really appreciated how easy the self-parking was...no unnecessary valet, which was a plus. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess and seated right away at a table for two. The restaurant itself is super unique and really pretty inside. I also loved that they had TVs everywhere with the games already on, so there was no need to ask them to switch to a specific event as everything was playing across different screens. Our server came by about 10 minutes after we were seated, and once they did, they were very nice and attentive. For drinks, we ordered a Moscow Mule, Prosecco, and the Smoky Escape. The Smoky Escape was much stronger than we expected in a good way and we were definitely impressed. For dinner, we ordered the perch (fish) and wings. The wings were really good and well-seasoned. The perch was seasoned well too, but unfortunately it was fried poorly and had a slimy texture even after being cooked. We also tried the grilled catfish with mac & cheese, greens with turkey, and candied yams. The sides were honestly the star everything was so good that I'd even consider catering just the sides from here. The grilled catfish, though, wasn't great. I requested it blackened, but I don't think it was prepared that way. The restrooms were very clean, and the restaurant overall was clean as well. Overall, I'd rate this visit an 8/10. So I visited this location on 4-24-2026 for the first time. Only other location I've been to of this establishment was in Duluth. This location is better to me with the service and how the food is cooked to order hot and fresh! The chef seasoned the fries for real and the wings were fried crispy and crunchy. I got mild sauce on the side. Only other condiment I would have liked was ketchup for the fries. Napkins included. I got a 8 piece whole wings with the fries it was around $20.00 with no drink included. I got my food to go and you get hit with a $4.00 service charge. I also see on the menu that on Saturday and Sunday they have chef specials for less. They are celebrating 75 years so they are doing something right.Food is delicious. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Don't waste your time or money. Unfortunately, I was met with unprofessional and passive-aggressive management. I didn't like one of the side dishes, and instead of listening to my concern or offering to remove the $6 item from my bill, the manager, Ash, became defensive and argumentative. She repeatedly insisted that she had tasted the dish several times and that it met Harold's standards, rather than focusing on resolving the issue or providing good customer service. To the owner: I recommend providing your management team with additional customer service training. When a customer expresses dissatisfaction, the priority should be listening, showing empathy, and working toward a reasonable resolution--not arguing over the food. I'm familiar with other locations, so I was immediately impressed by the building's aesthetics. However, once I stepped inside, I was truly taken aback -- this location is a complete upgrade from the Edgewood spot. That said, the décor alone wasn't enough to win me over. I started with the fried green tomatoes, which were clearly fried in just cornmeal and ended up being too hard. I had to drench them in sauce just to make them edible. For my main course, I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken lacked seasoning, and the waffle had a gritty texture that made it a miss for me. On a more positive note, the service was excellent. Our server, Nae, was truly outstanding. Despite our large party, she managed everything efficiently and even requested that we stay in our assigned seats to avoid confusion -- a simple but smart move. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for her section. While I don't smoke hookah, it was clearly popular -- we had three on our tables and they seemed to be a hit with others in the group. I love that they offer breakfast as well. I ordered a lychee martini, salmon egg rolls, and the turkey burger. The turkey burger was just barely ok. It came with a mountain of fries. The fries were basic. Sweet potato fries or yuka fries would have been nice. Being the only customer, the food should have not taken as long as it did. I had to ask about it after 20mins. Not sure what the salmon egg rolls taste like. They never came. Either she didn't put it in or I don't know. The lychee martini was great. Strong and sweet. My server/bartender "Wheat" was cool, she made the drink perfect. Checked on me periodically. I like the decor. The crushed velvet high back booths look nice. I sat at the large bar. It was bright and open. I would go back and try something else because I can't beat the location and the atmosphere. It does seem a bit expensive especially for the location, but whatever. As I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed it was large and had plenty of spaces on the sides and rear. We were greeted by a very friendly host. She asked if we were dining in or taking out. She also asked about our seat preference- bar or booth. We opted for the booth. There were maybe 20 ppl at the bar The dining area looks like a club or lounge. Booths are lined in velvet with patent leather seating, and there are several tables throughout for social drinking. 12 TVs 9 in the front. The restroom was clean and smelled divine. 3 stalls... The Food - b/t the time we ordered and received the food was 40 min. She checked in to let us know she was waiting to pick up the order. I can only imagine the wait on the weekends when it's busier The best part of the meal was the yams! Oh my! You taste the cinnamon and nutmeg along with other spices. Generous portions! I visited Harold's Chicken & Ice Bar on May 29, 2026, around 12:00 a.m., and spent approximately $167 during my visit. I want to start by recognizing Aspen, my server, and the DJ. Aspen provided excellent service throughout the evening, and the DJ helped create a great atmosphere. The Red Lip drink was also very good, and overall the venue had a fun, energetic vibe. Unfortunately, my experience was negatively impacted by the manager's behavior. During my visit, the manager was rude and used profanity unnecessarily, which was both unprofessional and disappointing. I ordered the lamb chops, which were presented as one of the restaurant's signature menu items. I specifically requested that they be cooked medium-well. Instead, they were cooked well-done, and I immediately noticed an unpleasant smell. After tasting them, I found the flavor to be sour and not enjoyable. I politely informed my server and requested that the dish be removed from my table. To be clear, I did not demand that the item be removed from my bill. However, I would have expected some level of accommodation, concern, or effort to resolve the issue. Instead, nothing was offered. Even more disappointing, the manager instructed the server to leave the plate on the table despite my request to have it removed from in front of me. While the food issue was unfortunate, it was the manager's attitude and lack of customer service that left the most lasting impression. Aspen and the DJ did an outstanding job, but the manager's conduct turned what could have been a great experience into an unpleasant one. I asked if we could sit at the bar and was told "NO" even though there were many empty seats so we waited. When we're seated it took an hour to get our food. I placed a takeout order from Harold's Chicken and Ice Bar earlier this week. The online ordering process was efficient, and the food was prepared quickly--ready for pickup within 20 minutes. I tried several items, including the fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, buffalo shrimp, Jamaican jerk pasta, and the jerk eggrolls. Overall, the majority of the food was delicious and cooked well. The buffalo shrimp was sooo good and tasty! It's so hard to find a place that makes buffalo shrimp but Harold's definitely had one of the best I've ever had. The Jamaican jerk pasta was a but oily, but still good. Although the jerk eggrolls were really good, be mindful it's spicy. The fried chicken was okay, wasn't as flavorful to what I'm used to. I received great customer service from the staff. The food was very hot and flavorful. The macaroni was a little runny, but because it was so hot I enjoyed it still. I didn't like the surcharge for credit card because if you're a business, you should be willing to take on different forms of payment. We had a REALLY good time. The food was spectacular. For only $13 I got chicken, fish, and fries. My mom and her wife had wings and waffles. Not to mention, we came at the end of happy hour so they still had top shelf vodka for $8 a shot. Bathrooms were very clean also. Yesterday was my first and last time ever at that place. #1) The price was too high for what was served. #2) The waitress can listen to a simple order cause the music is so loud she can't anything because the DJ is tone deaf. #3) They gave us plastic forks and spoons.
