As you can see from my previous reviews, my opinion has changed. I'm not sure what changes were made, but now this McDonald's has the best service of any McDonald's I have visited. They are always fully staffed with employees that have been there for a long time. The employees are always friendly and the food is consistently fresh, especially breakfast. We came here to grab breakfast on a Sunday morning. Only because Waffle House was packed. Drive thru was crowded but moved quickly. The cashier was cordial. Our order was correct and fresh. I went by there tonight for croc toys. Since every other McDonald's I've been to, I've gotten them for free. Then I was told I had to pay for the toys which I was fine with that, and then they came back and told me I had to purchase a happy meal for each toy and when I told them that's not the policy she. Refused to give me any service. She was rude with me, the shift manager Shay. She refused to give me the general manager's number or name. People like that should not be in management. They really Should consider firing her and hire someone who knows how to deal with the public without being rude and ugly... I don't buy food from there bc evey time I do it's gross. I ordered doordash through here and this is what I receive. cold food with a Big Mac when I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries in a breakfast bowl. wouldn't have even been mad if they contacted and told my dasher they were out of these things but they didn't they put it in and sealed the bag so we'd only see after we've received our purchase. I called 10 times literally and not once did they pick up the phone. I've had several problems with this location one being they gave me RAW MEAT. WOULDNT RECOMMEND TO NOBODY. The boy at the window was so unbelievably rude to me and my nephew. I think that he may have been high from the way he smelled. He handed me my happy meal and I had to remind him it came with a drink, he seemed pretty upset that I wanted the drink that I payed for because he didn't put any ice in the cup and filled it up 1/4 of the way. On February 17, 2022 at 5:00 I was in the drive thru line and a tornado siren sounded. My phone gave a weather alert Tornado in Gardendale. I parked my car and tried to seek shelter in the building. They would not let me in. I was left out in the elements terrified. I got up against the building scared to death. The people that work at the Gardendale McDonald's are so hateful. I asked for Diet Coke and a Dr Pepper but I got both Dr Pepper but they wouldn't take the one back they were very nice and gave me no picie

I drove thru drive through at 7:27 pm. I ordered 20 pc chicken nuggets and requested it be cooked fresh. I was retold to drive up to payment window. I did so abd requested again that they be cooked fresh. I knew it would take at least 9 or 10 minutes. I was told to drive up to next window. They immediately handed me a sack , I said I wanted them freshly cooked. The employee turned to another employee inside further and that employee said they are freshly cooked. I said I know that it takes atleast 9 or 10 minutes to cook fresh nuggets. She said you want me to cook them again. Owindiw employee saud she'd get them cooked fresh and bring them out to me. 7:40 to 7:55 I waited in parking space . Finally a 3rd employee came out and had a sack of large French fries. I told her no, I was waiting on a fresh cook 20 pc chicken nuggets. She left and returned with a sack w/ a 20 pc chicken nuggets box. I drove home and found when I got home. The box only contained 13 chicken nuggets. I decided to drive back in the morning and speak to manager and request a refund. I am going to give her the 13 pc nuggets and 3 packs dipping sauce back. read more

This location is consistently an issue, but last night was the last straw. I went through the drive through to order one 6 piece happy meal with extra fries, a coke to drink and no dipping sauce. The lady who took my order interrupted me four times, and I finally asked that she stop interrupting me, I could repeat my order. She told me to drive around. I asked for my total (as the screen was not properly functioning) and she told me 4.40 and then she called me a bitch. I sat in the drive through line for at least 10 minutes. When I got to the first window to pay, there was no one there, so I drove to the second window. I sat at the second window for ANOTHER 10 minutes, three women came to my window and told me that they could not take my card - I offered cash and then they told me they did not have any chicken nuggets cooked. I was upset at this point and asked why they didn't just tell me when I originally made my order. She called me a bitch again as I drove away. This is one of the worst MCD's I have been in. It should be closed down. Don't expect too much. Long wait. Plenty of employees doing very little while the whole place is filthy. Wrong order. Poor poor management. I wouldn't even call it management. If they by chance make any profit the way it is operating; they would have the potential to be a contender in Gardendale with the right employees . As is, it should be closed. Call the so called management and complain. That may be the only way it could get better. Don't put up with way below average. There are other choices. read more
