Make sure to always check your McDonald's app for deals and reward points. We had to wait for fresh French fries but that is not a bad thing. Order: Big Arch meal. First time trying this new burger. I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the look and taste of the white and black sesame seed bun. The lettuce,onion and pickles added the crunch and freshness. The Big Mac sauce is always delicious. The star of the show were the crispy onion bits that added crunch and texture with each bite. This was a better version of the Big Mac with more crunch and without the useless middle bun. Fries were hot and crispy. I always get a Diet Coke... if you know you know. 10 piece chicken nugget with bbq and sweet/sour sauce for $2 with my app deal. Always good. The pro tip is to dip the nugget first in bbq and then into the sweet/sour sauce... and yes that is the order because the bbq sauce is thicker than the ss sauce. Great experience 2 times in a row - 4 stars! I don't usually review a fast food joint unless my visit was horrible...or extra good. In this case, it was great and it deserves recognition. 1. The main reason I stopped here was to get some quick low-carb carnivore quarter pound burger patties off the "a la carte" menu, which many people don't know exists. (You can order literally anything on the menu individually if the staff know how to do it.) The employee knew how to do this and she was cool about doing it too. I've tried this move at several locations in the Twin Cities. Many times, the staff are either too stupid to do it, they have a hostile attitude, or they lie and they tell me it isn't possible. Not in Garrison though! 2. If you're eating low carb and in a hurry, McDonald's burger patties are an excellent option. They're always, always cooked perfectly and spiced perfectly. They're 100% Angus Beef, no fillers or junk like most of the other crap on the menu. And it's WAY cheaper a la carte instead of getting a full burger, picking out the burger, and throwing away the rest. Sometimes they try to charge you for a full Quarter Pounder Burger. Don't let them do this to you. You must use the magic words "a la carte". 3. The staff here are wonderful. Two times in a row...awesome both times. 4. The lobby is impeccably clean. They even have real flowers in vases all over the place. Someone really cares. 5. I enjoyed dining in and watching people. There's a lot more diversity than people might think for Northern Minnesota. If you think rural Minnesota is all white people you'd be wrong. Fun. 6. Last but not least, this McDonald's location definitely has one of the best views in Minnesota. You can sit in a front booth or on the front patio and enjoy Lake Mille Lacs directly across the road. If you aren't familiar with this area, Mille Lacs is the 4th largest lake in Minnesota. Today March 17th 2025 in the evening I stopped with my wife to order some food I stood at the cash register for about 10 minutes with no one coming to help other than there was this one woman who is heavy set and wearing the what I believe to be the shift supers visors uniform she would come out but then she just walked to the back and totally ignored me standing there I finally got tired of this you know watching her go back and forth and ignoring me and I simply said is there anyone here who can take an order I ended up having to repeat myself three times and I knew she heard me each time she came out and she goes I don't like your attitude you can use the kiosk well I refuse to use kiosks I then told her since she refused to serve me that I wanted to speak to the manager and then when she declined to allow me to speak to the manager I want the manager's contact information she refused that too I finally got angry and I use some foul language because obviously this woman does not know how to treat customers I will never go back to the Garrison McDonald's again this woman if she was working for me in one of the retail stores that I used to run she would have been fired on the spot because she instigated the whole situation read more

We do not often stop in when we are heading home from the cabin but we had not had breakfast drove thru and got 2 breakfast burrito meals served hot and fresh and got in and out easily. App ordered two sandwiches and a Shake. Opted for pickup inside since I was in a large commercial vehicle. Checked in when I entered door. After waiting 19 minutes I inquired about my order. Sandwiches where done and waiting to be sacked but ice cream machine was broken, imagine that , so they just ignored finishing my order till I inquired. They then informed me ice cream machine was broken so I asked for a refund. The one register was manned by a slow individual and was helping a customer so they asked if they could take my card to the back register and refund the difference. I agreed. After 5 minutes what I assumed the manager came back with my card and told me they couldn't do a refund. I protested politely. Hell there's cash in the register right if you can't refund the card? She stated that if she did refunds they would lose "$14000 a day". Whatever. She said I would have to dispute the change with my credit card company. I left. Made a complaint on McDonald's corporate who informed me to return to the store for a refund. Imagine that I guess they can do refunds. I live like 25 miles away and go to this restaurant about once every other month when I'm passing through, but I'm done. The wait times are routinely 20 minutes or more and after this event I never will again. This is easy the worst McDonald's that I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to get a quick meal. I've traveled all over the U.S. Canada and European and McDonald's Garrison location is the worst. Do not waste your time. They are done wasting mine. read more

The manager is the village idiot. Ordered online and waited on arrival, only to be eventually told they don't accept online orders even though the order was placed and paid for. Had to go inside to straighten things out only to then learn they have no beverages as machine was broken. The manager then claimed the order was placed at another McDonalds until I showed him the "0" distance from destination on the Mac App. The idiot doesn't even know the business address of the drive in he manages! Burger King just 100 yards away for anyone looking for an alternate drive through. Solid pass on this Nicky D's in the future. read more

On the way "Up North" this Micky D's is the last stop we make before the cabin if we need to eat. Its McDonalds, but they can be good, bad or wildly inconsistent. In the 6-10 times I have visited this location, it has been good, consistently...for a McDonalds. I know I'll be back. read more

It's a nice restaurant & I've rarely had any negative things to say about it...but...recently I have noticed a that the service is rather rude. Less than friendly would describe it best. I have family in Garrison, so I have been going to this Mc Donald's since it opened. Over this last weekend we ate there three times. Twice for breakfast and once for lunch. The first time we went inside, it took 15 minutes for 2 burritos, 2 sausage biscuits, and 2 drinks. Ok, whatever they were busy. Russell, their table washer and floor sweeper guy is a total sweetheart. He chatted with us which made the wait not so bad. The next day we went through the drive through. We ordered 3 Mc Doubles, 1 Mc chicken, a large fry, and 4 small shakes. 30 minutes, no apologies. I saved the best for last. This morning they were in the transition between breakfast and lunch. We entered the building and noticed that it wasn't too crowded inside. We ordered right away. This order consisted of four breakfast sandwiches, two drinks, and to mc doubles. We proceeded to wait at the counter for 40 minutes. We were not impatient, Russell came and chatted with us again. The lady informed us that we were waiting on the meat. When we finally got our food she handed us a coupon for a free meal. Great! We left to head for home, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive. When I opened up my sandwich I noticed there was a long hair sticking out of it. I pulled it out and this hair I happened to be around 3 inches long. I opened up the sandwich and proceeded to find more than four hairs inside. I have never in my life experienced anything like this. I can see how maybe one hair could accidentally find its way into a sandwich. Not acceptable, however, understandable. Multiple hairs like I found, are unacceptable and disgusting. Are usually don't give bad reviews because I can understand how that affects businesses. I cannot with a good conscience not share this experience. Eat at your own risk. If you do find yourself at this McDonald's, make sure to say hello to Russell. He's probably the only good thing about this McDonald's. read more

On our way home after visiting with extended family we decided to go to McDonalds for a quick meal. We ordered 2 large fries, 3 cheeseburgers, 1 cheesy bacon fry from Australia on the worldwide favorites, a 10 piece chicken nugget, and 3 regular soft drinks. Instead we only got 1 large fry and 2 cheesy bacon fries with our cheeseburgers and nuggets. The service was terrible, we waited over 15 min (It's called fast food for a reason!), majority of the workers were rude and were cursing (there were some very young kids there), and they didn't know how to work some of the machinery. The cheesy bacon fries were incredibly over salted and the regular fries had no salt at all, the cheeseburgers were decent, and the chicken nuggets were overcooked. I will give them an extra star though because we got an extra soft drink for free, they looked like they were in a hurry for a large order, and because 1 worker actually acted nice. read more
