Yelped advised that this location is open 24/7. Stopped by and attempted to order food and coffee at 400 am. A young-sounding female advised that the system was updating and they could not take orders at the present time. This update would take approximately ten minutes. I decided to wait as I am far from home and this is the only place which is, "open" 24-7. I have been waiting twenty minutes and I observed numerous cars enter the drive-thru only to drive away without placing a food order. I myself, attempted to order food via the drive-thru a second time only to be told that it would be twenty mins. Twenty minutes ago was advised it would be ten minutes and now I am being told it will be twenty minutes. Which is it, ten or twenty minutes?? My review is not about the service workers or the food. Both were great. It is about what is happening to the restaurant. 1. No one is manning the register. Big signs saying "Go Digital" are in front of the registers forcing you to use the app or digital ordering board. What I attempted to order wasn't available on the digital ordering board. I had to flag someone down and ask for them to open a register. 2. The fountain drink dispenser has been locked out and blocked by yet another set of signs encouraging you to use the app. No more refills at will. Now you have to go to the front and wade through a sea of door dash people crowding around the register that isn't manned. Everyone is hoping one of the workers that is hustling with their back to them will turn around and come help. 3. Napkins, salt, ketchup dispenser, and utensil dispenser have been removed from where the customer can access them (usually by the fountain drink dispenser) and put behind the cashier counter, that is unmanned. Ok, now that you have the 3 changes, let me tell you how it affected the experience. Walked in and no even acknowledged we existed, let alone greeted us. Again, not the fault of the workers. The cashier position was eliminated so there is no one who is customer facing. They literally are all positioned to have their backs to the customer in order to do their job. This resulted in forced usage of the digital boards. However, I was unable to order on the board and needed a cashier. No one is manning the register and there is a sea of people waiting for door dash. They can't tell if I need help ordering or am waiting for an order because, Again, the register isn't manned. I flagged someone down. They couldn't help me. In a few minutes someone came to the register. Order done. No drink cup given with receipt-- see point 2. The store was relatively busy so it would have been nice to have the usual drink available for my daughter while waiting for the food. I walked to the tables in the play area and only two were available. Both tables were dirty. I went to get napkins so I could clean the table, see point 3. Back to the front counter where there were even more door dashers crowding around the register area. Flagged someone down, they gave me a rag and I wiped the table down. Food came out to the table. Order correct but they had run out of syrup on the sprite. An easy fix except, see point 2. Back to the counter where, you guessed it, a sea off door dashers and no one manning the register. McDonald's manager, please, if you are going to remove all of the self service items (I'm sure at corporate direction) the you must have someone staffed at the register to service the customer. Again, nothing negative about any associate working nor the food itself. It was lunch time and everyone was hustling. It's no one's fault that there isn't someone staffed at the counter. The actual worst experience every time. The most recent one, I ordered a Big Mac value meal and they couldn't figure out how to get it for me. Also the line on the left helped 3-5 people were already helped, the employee said "give me a second" and we waited patiently while this happened. This McDonald's is known for taking a while with orders. This wasn't the case when I came here a few days ago. They did not take a while, however, they made mistakes with my quarter pounder. It wasn't a busy time when I came and I do respect the cashier for not being rude. However, she did not give me my drink until I reminded her. The bigger issue with my order was that I specifically listed NO PICKLE. However, the cook put 4 pickles in my quarter pounder. I have been going to this McDonald's for years now. There is always a 50/50 chance of the order being wrong, the food taking way too long, and some of the workers having horrible attitude. Today, when my dad ordered through the drive thru, the lady at the window said our order, and slammed the door shut. My dad was very confused, and tried going inside. The doors were locked since it was late, so he had to go back around the drive thru. The same lady, yelled at my dad, and got insanely my at him, saying he didn't pay. This place randomly closes drive thru lanes for indeterminate amounts of time and left me trapped in a line where nobody is on the intercom to take my order. Since there are two drive thru lanes, I was left sitting there in front of a traffic cone while the people in the other line were passing smoothly and getting their food. Don't think I've ever had an issue at this location. I usually come here either early in the morning or at night/later at night after hanging out and dropping off friends and whenever I have the munchies I drop by here. Quality of food is standard and I've never had an instance where something was packaged carelessly or my food came out slapped together haphazardly. Sometimes mobile ordering and then waiting at the parking spot takes some time since you have to be in the vicinity to say that you're there, but there are times where I've fumbled getting my code out in the drive thru and the workers are pretty patient.
