I had the chance to FINALLY go to the closest Smoking Tiger to me. Which is really funny since I've been to the Cerritos, MPK, and Whittier locations first. This one is just a Coffee Lab, so it doesn't have the extensive baked goods like the Cerritos location, but still has a decent selection towards the cashier area. Some refrigerated chubby cakes and slices, canned and bottled drinks, and then some pre-wrapped baked goods like bread, cookies, mochi, etc. They can warm it for you too I believe. With the increase of Smoking Tigers, I heard from my friend that also frequents these that they're cutting a lot from their menu, food and drink wise. My beloved choco mugwort, please return as a seasonal drink at least. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I was on the fence about ordering a limited seasonal Yakult cold brew style drink but feared that it was going to be more sour than a standard Yakult because of the cold brew and after explaining the flavor profile thoroughly, I opted for a safer drink that I've had before. Their banana milk latte. I'm a caffeine addict and this was a good pick me up. Not super strong and didn't zute me immediately, but this is perfect for those slow release caffeine people who like to sip on their drinks. Perfect banana milk taste after mixing and a perfect coffee for me, not too bitter or sour lol. There's outlets at the tables near the window and lots of places to sit down and hang out. Plenty of parking but it can get busy since a lot of people are in the plaza to go to 99 Ranch or the other businesses (restaurants, shopping, tea, etc.) but also everyone hates parking at the plaza across the street so they're parking here and walking over haha... It's insane this used to be a Diamond Bakery. They've existed since the 70's and 80's and there's only 2 left in existence (Vegas and MPK). Really makes you think of the passage of time. I usually go to the Buena Park location but this one is super convenient since it's right at the entrance of 99 Ranch. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, but it's clean, minimalistic, and the service is always quick and friendly. I usually order the smokin' spaniard and it's always solid. This time we also got the corn latte and their seasonal cream top Americano. I'm pretty picky when it comes to corn lattes but this one was surprisingly good. The corn foam was rich, creamy, and not watered down at all. The sweetness level was spot on too. The cream top Americano was another hit. It reminded me of a salted cream coffee with a nice balance between the bitterness of the coffee and the savory cream on top. Came here when they first opened and finally made it back! It was much calmer than opening day, which made for a more enjoyable visit. This time we got the Banana Milk Latte and the Sweet Potato Latte. Both were so good! The Banana Milk Latte actually tasted like banana milk and wasn't overly sweet. The Sweet Potato Latte was a surprise!! In a wonderful way. I was expecting something similar to ube or taro, but it really tasted like roasted sweet potatoes. Super unique and honestly delicious. The staff were friendly and you could tell they put care into making the drinks. We haven't tried any of the food yet, but everything we saw out looked really good. The cafe itself has a nice, chill vibe with plenty of seating to hang out, work, or catch up with friends. Definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to. I want to give 4.5 star, but i like that the quality is always consistent. I have becoming here for a couple times now and try a couple different kind of drinks. I want to say my favorite would be Matcha latte with variety of different milk. I don't know if I like the artificial banana flavor in the banana milk latte, but I definitely enjoyed their matcha flavor simple milk. The pastries are interesting. Cute spot in the 99 ranch plaza. Friendly service. I got the seasonal Yazu Cano drink. Unfortunately I did not like it. However the pastries I got - lemon earl grey sconzie and cinnamon honey scone, both are amazing!!! So good. I'll try a different drink next time. The one I got has a citrusy and slightly bitter taste and I'm not quite in the mood for that. Other people may like that. I should have gotten a more traditional milk tea or brown sugar latte. The Spanish Latte is absolutely amazing. I had it iced. I want to try it hot next time. I usually do not get iced drinks but this was refreshing and good with that pick-me-up I needed. Finally visited Smoking Tiger cafe for the first time. I came specifically to get the black sesame chewy cookie since I haven't seen that anywhere else! It was much less sweet compared to dubai chocolate chewy cookies I've had elsewhere. I actually really liked it! It was $4.50 so kind of expensive for how tiny it is, but I'd say it's more worth it than getting a dubai chocolate one. I also got the iced banana latte with oat milk, less sweet and less ice. I don't think this drink was for me because it was still way too sweet. Also you can barely taste the coffee. And I am not usually the biggest fan of coffee so I don't normally mind if the coffee isn't so strong, but even this one I felt was not enough coffee. The staff are all very nice and friendly though. I've been to their Cerritos location and fell in love but surprisingly, this location's drinks and garlic cream cheese bread wasn't up to par. Strawberry Matcha 3.5/5 - not the best I had, it was a little watery, and matcha was on the lighter side. Strawberry puree was not very strong. Banana Milk Latte 4/5- my friend liked it. It wasn't too sweet or too strong. Black Sesame latte 4/5- my friend liked it as well, I was hoping to try the cream cheese garlic bread but it was sold out. Stopped by here a few times while I was visiting family in Rowland, and the drinks are great! The persimmon leaf tea was naturally slightly sweet and earthy, and I could see this being great iced on a hot day. Smoking Tiger also has so many unique drink options, like I've never heard of someone combining matcha and apple cider (seasonal drink). I haven't tried any pastries, but they look great! Lots of natural light and you can see all their coffee equipment behind the counter, which made it feel like they actually care about what they're making. I ordered the sweet corn latte (which I was kinda unsure about at first lol) and a matcha scone. The latte ended up being surprisingly good, creamy, and slightly sweet. Not too heavy or overly sweet. The matcha scone had that nice slightly crispy top but soft inside, and the matcha flavor wasn't too strong or bitter. 3.5 stars since I think service could be better, but the food and drinks were excellent! We were going in for 99 Ranch and noticed Smoking Tiger was open. Decided to stop by for some drinks and check it out. Parking is easy in the plaza, the places is clean and has a pleasant layout with tables and bench seating. The giant ac/air unit in the middle of the room was a bit annoying, but I guess you do what you gotta do. Not pictured but I love their banana bread. It's was moist and flavorful. Not overly sweet. Their main menu is posted on the tv's and their seasonal rotating menu is by the cashier. We didn't know they had the seasonal until we were just about to order. Prices are fair, although I wish the drink size upcharge and milk substitutes were more clearly visible, not in bottom right corner of the menu and small. Staff/service is meh to be honest. The person taking our order kinda just stood by iPad and didn't say anything until I asked if I could order. No greeting whatsoever, no offer to explain the menu or ask is if we had any questions. Drinks were really good though. Tried the jeju matcha latte. Not overly sweet and you can really taste the matcha. Smokin' Spaniard was also delicious. I love the strong coffee flavor. I'm always hesitant that drinks like that would be overly sweetened where you lose the coffee flavor. This didn't disappoint. Got a peach sparkling drink. Nice and refreshing, though the bits of peaches were just too big and downstairs work with their straws. Simple, delicious drinks! I mean ... and what more can you ask for at a coffee shop? They had enough seating and had delicious drinks! I went for the banana milk latte and the Jeju matcha latte (gave it to my dad), I thought both were great. We already had breakfast so I didn't get to try any of the pastries but they LOOKED delicious! Because they are located at the 99 Ranch Market storefront, you get the market parking lot- I don't know if it's necessarily a good thing on Sunday mornings though. You get a little bit of the after church frenzy and the normal Asian market moms (iykyk) HAHA I can't wait to go back and try the other drinks. This place is so awesome. They have really good seating and they also have the new Dubai mochi which is so good and must get. It would be a good place to study or grab something to catch up with someone and the sheets are really comfy and they also have a lot of outlets and free Wi-Fi. The sweet corn latte is a nice espresso latte with a blend of corn cream which is sweet and bold at the same time. 7/10 Meanwhile the peaches and cream latte is perfectly sweet with chunks of peaches and peach cream top. Service- Staff here are very friendly and provide great customer service; I felt welcomed and cared for when I received my order. Atmosphere- It is spacious, clean and modern. I was pretty disappointed by my MSGR (misugaru) latte even after adding a shot in it. I thought making it a dirty misugaru would make the flavors of the espresso and roasted grains complement each other, but alas, they didn't. I barely tasted the misugaru and the espresso. It was very milky. I also tried the tiger latte which was much better but also nothing outstanding that would make me come back to try it. Bright, clean and crisp - is how I'd describe this little coffee shop/cafe. Located right inside the mall off the Main Street, and opposite the Cricket Wireless store, the servers are friendly and welcoming. We opted for the Tiger Latte which has their signature brown sugar latte with oat milk and espresso (no Tiger ingredients lol). It was so smooth. I opted for the ice version and am very impressed. They also have a rewards system which is free to join where you can rack up points for drink related rewards. They do have some baked goods but you have to get in early before they sell out. This location is adjacent to a grocery store, so there is plenty of parking in the lot. There aren't too many tables, however at 4PM on a Wednesday, it wasn't too crowded. Since I believe Smoking Tiger Coffee Labs are sattelite locations, their selection of baked goods is typically smaller and sells out quickly. This was my first time trying thee garlic cream cheese bread as it was one of the few pastry options left, but it was pretty yummy! The cream cheese is a lot more whipped than I expected, but I appreciate that it doesn't sit as heavy in your stomach. The top of the pastry had a nice subtly sweet glaze which I enjoyed as well. Normally I go to Smoking Tiger more for their bread, but this time I tried a few sips of my partner's drink! Since it's summer, they have some seasonal drinks, including a 'peaches and cream' one. I don't think I've ever tried a fusion of coffee & peach flavor, but it was surprisingly refreshing and quite delicious.
